The place was exactly as described. The linen was clean, and plenty of towels were provided. The large closet was perfect for storing our luggage. The refrigerator was a bit noisy, but no more so than the coqui frogs—which didn’t bother us at all. Highly recommend if you're looking for great value and privacy

Unique "Lava House" by steaming crater

This was a fantastic house, one of my family’s favorites- but there were a few cleaning issues & something else I had to address with the owner directly-she was very kind & responsive. Windows are open 24/7 and “tropical friends” may get inside. We live in Florida, and occasionally tiny lizards get in our own house. We only saw one the whole time. We were very comfortable temperature wise. You’re in a rainforest climate. The frogs are LOUD. But we ended up loving them and missed them when we left. They literally lulled us to sleep every night. You have a tiny town close by for items you might need. It’s a good location to explore all areas of Hilo/and south side of the island including the national park. We lost power once (have them show you how to reset it when checking in) -Reka the manager responded quickly-I was very impressed with living off the grid! The property is gorgeous and unique and there are a million stars. The volcanic landscape in the back is stunning.

5 STARS 5 STARS 5 STARS!!! My girlfriend and I went here for our 1 year anniversary and it was pure bliss. Far enough away from the city so you can have your own peace and comfort but close enough to drive wherever on the island. We loved the solitude of the location and the soothing sounds of rain, frogs, and birds surrounding the place. This place is a gem! To add, Malie was very responsive before, during, and after the process! Super helpful with great suggestions and clear instructions. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay and experience!

It was our 40th Airbnb and by far the most beautiful accommodation we ever had. Everything was very clean. Suparmarkets and good restaurants were very close. We spent a perfect time here. The hosts are as sweet as it gets and we fell in Love with them. We didnt feel like guests, but family members. Thanks for all aunt Mandy and Uncle Kelly, love you guys and see you soon!
