Marvão Olive Oil Casa Mestre do Lagar Olive Tourism

JoannRating, 5 stars5 months ago
We were able to check in a little earlier, greeted by Antonio's mother and shown around the lovely old renovated cottage. There were just the 2 of us and our 2 dogs, cottage could comfortably have had 4 people. A very thoughtful gift basket was waiting for us in the kitchen, delicious local bread, cheese and wine with a little sample of the local olive oil. Much appreciated as we did not realise there is not a supermarket or market nearby.

Rural Apartments in Valencia de Alcantara - 2 pax

This is a tranquil place to stay if you are looking for spot to relax! I would stay here again. If you are traveling with dogs, note that their rules do not allow the dog to be left unattended in the unit or to be on furniture/bed. They have doggy beds and water/food bowls for dogs if you need them. The units look exactly like the listing photos. The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. If you are coming in on a Sunday plan to bring some groceries with you as there are not grocery stores or restaurants open nearby. I’d recommend going to Salto for a glass of wine and a stroll across the border to Portugal. This spot is also a great home base if you are looking to hike to the Dolmens or stargaze at the lookout for Berrocal de la Data. Thank you again for your hospitality. This was a wonderful stay.

Fountain House

SusanaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We loved our stay in the Fontanheira houses, without a doubt I give 5 stars. The house has all the conditions for a couple with 2 children, very spacious, modern and beautifully decorated. My daughters say it was the coolest house where they stayed, they loved it! But note to those who have smaller children, that access to the mezzanine can be a bit dangerous, because the stairs do not have lateral protection, which for us was not a problem, as my daughters are already older. We stayed in the house farthest from the pool, which has a stunning view to the mountain (I don't know if the side house will also have). Great house to disconnect from everyday stress and recharge batteries in the middle of nature.

Casa da Volta - Alentejo - São Julião

Amazing space. The photos do not do justice to the place, the breadth and the feeling of comfort and being at home, away from home. Very clean and tidy house. When we arrived, we had eggs, oranges and a homemade gin, as well as a brand new bag of charcoal for grilling. It is an incredible place to relax and to bring animals, as it is all fenced and very safe. The surrounding area, despite not having many attractions, is great for walking. It is worth a visit to the river, a 3-minute walk from the accommodation. This house had everything we needed. I'd definitely come back.
