Very much enjoyed my stay at Royal Astoria. We were welcomed by the host as we arrived and we were very much looked after during our stay. Nagendra was also very accommodating and patient as our plans had changed last minute. The listing description is accurate, the hotel + rooms were cosy and very clean. The hotel location is a little difficult to find as it's off the main road, so make sure your driver/taxi knows where they are going. Aside from that I don't have a bad word to say about my stay here.

A must stay property in Nepal

Definitely worth it. Perfect location, a few min walk to central Thamel so that the noise there won’t disturb as much. Welcome drinks were offered and the staff delivered our heavy bags to our room. The room was very clean and comfy. Breakfast offered by the restaurant downstairs was by far the best we’ve had in kathmandu with the best price! Everything turned out to be more than expected!

We had a lovely stay The place is located in a prime location and tourist attractions like Thamel are at walking distance. The stay was comfortable and cozy with attractive interiors and a cute terrace from where you can have a hill view. The complimentary breakfasts were delicious and homely as well. The host was especially kind and accommodating at all times, and made us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our time there.

Arrived late at night. Their service was excellent. Room was nice, clean and organized. Ramhari and his crew are very friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to get me set up with everything I needed for my adventure in Nepal. Breakfast was also included and pretty decent, just wish it was real fruit juice. I'd recommend anyone to stay here, if you need an easy and safe way to get started in Kathmandu. Thanks guys!

At Royal Astoria Hotel we were treated so well. It's a beautiful hotel, amazing service from the staff and Negandra himself. Food is excellent, beautiful courtyard and they were very accommodating for our needs. Would definitely return here on my next visit to Kathmandu. Highly recommended!!

The Shangri-La is a wonderful place to stay in Kathmandu. It is just off the major Thamel tourist district, but on a quiet side street giving you the best of both worlds. Keshab and the staff team are fabulously caring and helpful, especially if this is your first time in Nepal. The hotel is charming and great value! Staying at the Shangri-La will be one of the best decisions you can make if travelling to Nepal and Kathmandu!

We had an amazing stay and wished we could have stayed for longer. Riken is a great host and made our stay very comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Lalitpur or Kathmandu in general, and as it’s in a quiet courtyard off the main road, we had a peaceful sleep in a comfortable bed. They have a good restaurant downstairs where they grow their own herbs and have live music on weekends. Fully recommend!

We had a very pleasant stay at Bhairaj beautiful Arthouse. He is very easy to talk to and very helpfull! Its possible to have breakfast at his place and you are close by the important sightseeingspots. We recommend Bhairaj and his nice House full or art! Thanks for having us!!!

We had a short but pleasant stay at this lovely heritage hotel. Liked that the host has thoughtfully curated the interiors with mood lighting, cultural artifacts in the common areas & the room with a keen eye for detail.. from an interior design & decor point of view it's quite admirable. Staff was friendly & helpful. Room matches the description & a good location being close to all the Thamel hot spots & shopping. Would definitely recommend to other guests visiting Kathmandu & wanting to stay in the Thamel neighborhood.

This was my second long stay at Yalamul Garden, and I confirm that the hotel is a true gem! My room was amazingly spacious, spotless, quiet and bright, with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. Everyone in the staff - from Riken to the guys at the reception and at the bar and the housekeepers - is super kind and friendly, and they always do that extra bit that makes you feel comfortable and at home. The garden is a great place to stay, work or relax, and the food is delicious. Overall, Yalamul Garden is a fabulous place to stay, and I look forward to staying again next time I am back in Nepal.

We had a really good 3 night- stay at Rahuls Hotel. The whole house has a great style, the staff is super friendly, the breakfast delicious and its good located to all the important things to see. We definitely recommend Rahuls beautiful hotel! Thank you Rahul !

Rahul went put of his way to offer/give us complimentary services, which we appreciated a lot. Daily recommendations of places to visit and food to eat in the city saved us a lot of time. Polite, lovely and helpful staffs/security guard. We really were in awe with the ambiance and overall hospitality of entire stay.

Rahul’s location offered an incredible stay for my friend and I. We were greeted very warmly right away. The accommodations were comfortable. He also sent us local recommendations, contact phone numbers, etc from the beginning. It was extremely smooth and I would highly recommend it to anyone who’s visiting Kathmandu for the first time.

We loved our stay at Swarga. After 20+ days of trekking, this hotel is just what the doctor ordered. Walkable yet quiet. Service was friendly and attentive. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. We have already booked a return stay after our next trek!

Bhairaj is a great host! He is extremely accommodating and very friendly. The AirBnB is exactly as described, clean and in order. Worth mentioning is especially worth mentioning the delicious breakfast with a view over the whole city. I highly recommend this place especially for the host for a stay in Nepal.

This place is amazing! Located in a really good area in Patan, with lots of restaurants and stores which are walkable around the hotel. Bhairaj is very responsive and he has gone above and beyond to make my stay comfortable, even helping me out with a wedding I was invited to. Kamala didi cooks delicious breakfast which is served every morning and she has the kindest, most caring soul. Even the shopkeeper at the convenience store located next door has been so welcoming! The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable and clean, with artwork by Bhairaj displayed! I really really enjoyed my time at this place - if you are looking for a boutique style hotel to feel like a “home away from home” in Kathmandu, with the kindest owner and employees, I very highly recommend this place! I’ll be back the next time I’m in Kathmandu. Thanks Bhairaj and team.

I booked this amazing place for my daughter during her first days in Katmandu. Mantee was responding immediately to all my questions and requests, organized pickup from the airport and helped her with all she needed. Communication with him was exceptionally fast and reliable. My daughter loved this beautiful place and the welcoming attitude of the staff. Thank you very much for that. Warmly recommended!

Great value and a perfect location

Of all the AirBnBs we’ve stayed in, this boutique hotel clearly stands out the most for its warmth, friendliness, and hospitality. To add to that: The always-perfect, simple yet profound Nepali food (The best potatoes you’d ever have, Mustang Aloo. The best sweet yoghurt you’d ever have, Juju Dhau. The list goes on.) The improvisational magic of Jazz (the host has a lovely band) practice sessions taking place in the background. Not to mention the right-outside-the-door access to Patan’s medieval Newar grandeur and lively streets. This was our first ever visit to Nepal and we just cannot wait to go back. Thanks to our host, Riken, and the most amazing, kindest team (Kunal, Temba, Amit, and every single member of the staff) for making it so.

Very nice little house, good location, breakfast every day, a small heater in the room, very convenient use of the kitchen, the owner and the client are very welcoming.Internet connection was not working.

We had an amazing 6-week of stay at Bhairaj’s place! He is extremely responsive and accommodating as a host. Not only he got us an extra fan, he also adjusted the breakfast provision according to our daily schedule. The place is self is well located (right next to the best mall in the city and nearby many restaurants), and the interior is simply beautiful. I strongly recommend Bhairaj’s place if you are planning for a relatively long-term stay!

My friend, my toddler and I stayed in the Junior Suite for 7 days during the middle of the fuel crisis. The place is located in a courtyard away from the main road and is a beautiful (and structurally solid) example of restored heritage just a 5-minute walk to Patan Durbar Square (where my son liked to feed pigeons every morning). The restaurant where breakfast is served is a lovely hidden respite from the usual honking and dusty madness on the street. There was always wifi and power. And the beds were really comfortable. Best of all, every single staff member - Nat, front desk, cook, cleaning lady (who even knit booties for my son!) - was super friendly and attentive!! With fuel/supply issues and some gray skies, you did need to plan your meals and showers a bit more, but the staff did 110% to accommodate. Couldn't recommend this place more strongly!
