Holiday rentals with lake access in Lake of the Woods

My group of friends stayed for 3 nights on Memorial Day weekend. We all agreed this was one of the best weekends we have had! The place was gorgeous and there were so many fun amenities and activities to do both in and out of the house. We could not have asked for a better house for our trip to Lake Anna! We will be coming back every year!! 😁

Only bad thing about this place was having to go home. This is such a gem with a view that dreams are made of. We ended up bringing dinner back just to sit and enjoy the majestic view. Rustic and truly relaxing. All of the extra amenities and the treats makes this location earn our five star review.

Our family of 2 adults and 5 kids had a wonderful stay over Thanksgiving week. Watching the sunrises and sunsets on the lake was so peaceful and our kids loved playing outside! Private and beautiful scenery, especially with the late fall colors. We had everything we needed to cook and everyone slept great. Kids said they wished we had spent less time sightseeing and more time at the house so they could play in the backyard!

This home and hosts are both rare gems, from the ease of checking in to the homes beautiful ambiance, its makes a great place to get away and enjoy nature. We would love to come back and explore more of the trails and wineries.

Beautiful home with plenty of comfortable spaces. Downstairs game room is great fun. Screened in porch made evening outdoor sitting an option without fighting the bugs. Easy walk to the beach and use of kayaks and paddle boards were great to watch sunset.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed eating dinner and playing games on the deck while looking out on the lake. The owner was very responsive and helpful (even when we accidentally left something behind). I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

My friend and I had a great girls weekend at Darrel’s place! We had a snafu with check-in and he was responsive and drove up himself to help us. Darrel was very responsive, friendly, and helpful throughout! The place was clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed. Loved the location for what we had planned - walkable to everything downtown. It was noisy at night but live music across the street was over before we went to sleep, and the noise machine was great! We did not mind it at all. Finding parking felt overwhelming when we first arrived since it is a corner unit on a busy street, but once we unloaded and got our bearings we got parking right out front all weekend. At checkout we needed just a few extra minutes to load our bags in our cars and Darrel was a flexible host. Would definitely stay again at any of his properties!

This was the second stay at Vickie's for me. The location stands out for its peace. natural beauty and charming gardens. Vickie really is a terrific host. She is warm, positive, flexible, and eager to ensure your stay is a good one. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. I'd recommend morning coffee in one of the big, comfortable chairs near the bird feeder!

We will definitely be back is the best endorsement. Quiet basement space that is in a safe and accessible neighborhood- one bed, living room, kitchen with induction stove, bathroom and cute dining area. Private entrance through the side gate with flood lights making late check in safe and easy. The owner is extremely responsive and lives upstairs but you barely hear anything. It had everything we needed and more. Internet connection was not lightening fast but you can still get online.

We came to Charlottesville for our son's graduation from UVA. This home was the perfect getaway for the weekend. Ann and Jim are welcoming and accommodating hosts. The home is immaculate and the surrounding countryside is idyllic. I can't say enough about this location. I didn't want to leave!

Staying at this Airbnb was an absolute delight. The spotless home and comfortable space felt like a home away from home. Scott, an exceptional host, provided fantastic local recommendations, making my trip even more enjoyable. The smooth check-in and the readily available amenities added to the convenience. The ideal location on the lake offered a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. !

Jennifer’s place has everything you need for a relaxing staycation- from a fully stocked kitchen to fun extras like kayaks. The front and back yards are both fully fenced, giving our two pups plenty of space to run and explore safely, which we really appreciated. Jennifer was also kind enough to offer us early check-in and late check-out, which made our trip even more enjoyable and stress-free. That said, there are a few areas that could use some attention. The grill hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and the deck could benefit from a bit of TLC. The landscaping near the dock also needs work- the view is gorgeous, but overgrown bushes and trees currently block the deck and the large swing that faces the lake. With a little maintenance, this area could be absolutely stunning. The property has so much potential, and with a few updates, it could be a true gem!

An amazing stay for our group! It was a beautiful and peaceful environ and the house and local neighborhood had some fantastic amenities and perks that we were fully encouraged to enjoy and take advantage of. We had a full group of 8 people and and it was perfect for our needs.

I've stayed at Shannon's a couple of times now and its always a good time for family & friends. 10/10 would recommend everyone!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The cottage is completely remodeled and provides a great space for a small family to interact and enjoy the lake. We had a mix of cooking on the Blackstone/kitchen and eating at some of the local restaurants on the lake. Christine and her husband were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful week on the lake. We used paddleboards and rented boats and wave runners from the local marinas. Smores by the fire pit were a bonus!

We had an incredible stay! The host Jae is very responsive. The place is perfect for anyone who loves fishing, kayaking, and water sports. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to the water and all the equipment you could need. The peaceful surroundings made it even more enjoyable. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Highly recommend for outdoor enthusiasts—can’t wait to come back!

We really enjoyed staying at this Lake Anna house and recommend it! The house sits on a small cove off the lake, and they have kayaks and a canoe, along with several life jackets. You can set the boats in the water and paddle off right away. This isn't a part of the lake where you can swim, unfortunately, but it is not far from places where you can swim. Putt putt, ice cream, lake rental, and a seafood restaurant are a short (less than 10 minutes) kayak ride away or just a 2-3 minute drive. There was a nest of red-tailed hawks in one of the front trees, which was very cool to watch. The yard is sloped down to the water, so very fun for running and playing, but don't bring a soccer ball or it will end up in the lake(!). Note that the bedroom with the bunk beds (in the basement) is directly off the big basement bedroom, so you have to go through that bedroom to get to the bunk beds. (Was only a minor issue when kiddos got up early and were noisy.) Kitchen was big and well appointed!
