“An absolute gem in the heart of the High Country, the miner's cottage at River Downs was the perfect romantic retreat for my partner and I. The cottage was warm, cosy and set in the stunning Howqua hills, with the gentle flow of the Howqua River right on its back doorstep. The roaring indoor fire managed to keep the entire place well heated, and the spa bath was an unexpected and welcomed bonus. The miner's cottage is the perfect place to kick back, relax and unwind, in stylish yet rustic beauty, with all the amenities needed for a long weekend away.”

“I had a wonderful time staying at Dilin's place. The country was beautiful and there are nearby mountain bike trails and of course the lake. Lots of birds in the garden. I stayed out the back which was cosy and I was able to light the fire for when it was cold, which I loved.”

“If you’re a castle fan, this is a must do. It’s a great place with all the fun movie touches you could want. Not one of those “movie locations” that you can’t even visualise where they shot it- this feels like you are IN the movie. Even if you’re not a massive castle fan, Bonnie doon is a great get away. Fresh warm bread, record player, popcorn machine, dvd collection, games galore... magic! Funny old lake, friendly locals, peace and quiet, great pub, great bike rides, saw wild kangaroo which was my first time. Lovely! I went alone and worked from there, and the serenity was incredible- will return with friends for another adventure. A++”
