Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Lake County

This home was chosen because of it's proximity to Recruit Training camp Great Lakes! I wanted to make sure I could get to my son's bootcamp graduation quickly with no issues of traffic. That worked out perfectly especially with Sarges easy directions! As for this home, it is located on a one way street which was extremely easy to find. The home is adorable, extremely clean and well decorated!!! I would highly recommend. They accommodated an earlier check in as we had a few connecting flights from Los Angeles... The beds are extremely comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. The towels in the bathroom were nice and fluffy. Shower was really nice with a filtered shower head! Nice TVs thru out! Shampoos, conditioners, soap in shower. first aid kits, iron and iron board, blow dryer. Kitchen had plenty of essentials to utilize for home cooked meals. If you are coming for Navy bootcamp graduation... do not hesitate to book!! Perfect home to rent! Thank you again to the hosts!

Absolutely loved the lake house, perfect gateway for family and friends reunion!! So many things to see, do and explore there like fishing, swimming, kayaking/water sports, pampering yourself while relaxing in sauna and just enjoying the nature surroundings:) Can’t recommend this place enough and definitely going back sometime soon!!

This is a beautiful home in a great neighborhood. We were able to walk to a concert at Ravinia Festival, and it was so quick and easy. Also a short walk to restaurants and a short drive to downtown Highland Park. Best part was the lovely decor - a great mix of furniture and original artwork. Would definitely stay again!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at The Coffee Shop. Peter was such a wonderful host, letting us check out an hour later than planned! We’re making it one of our spots!

Visited Waukegan for a Naval graduation. The home was super close to the base. Lots to do in the area. Neighbors in the neighborhood were friendly.

We chose this home for its close proximity to the Naval base. Great location for a quiet stay. Close to shopping and restaurants. The home was cozy and the beds so comfortable. The basement area was nice to play ping pong, and also a quiet bedroom for my sailor to take a short nap in. Highly recommend staying here. Jakub’s communication was quick anytime I messaged him.

Larry was a very accommodating and responsive host! The place was amazing and exactly as described. Plenty of room, amenities, and beautiful views. He made sure we had plenty of supplies and all the stuff for Smores!

We had a great stay overall. From start to finish, Kailash was extremely helpful, friendly and responsive. We needed a long-term stay with 2 big dogs, and this house worked great for us. We didn't get to use the pool much because the weather didn't cooperate, but the pool and patio area are gorgeous. The location is great, close to everything - grocery stores, restaurants, etc. There is a trail behind the house (accessible through a gate in the back yard), and it leads to a beautiful and huge forest preserve - beautiful for walks/hikes in the woods! The kitchen was a great space for us, and it had everything we might need for cooking, etc. The house was very comfortable for our family, and we would come again. Thank you, Kailash!

Superb. Amazing. Awesome. Breathtaking. Relaxing. The absolute perfect home for a navy graduation with so much room for friends and family to join! The entertaining areas (bar, pool, hot tub) were absolute perfection. The space and layout of the home really couldn’t be any better. The location the navy base is great. A short drive away. Everything you need is here plus some. The hosts were fantastic! We want to be here every weekend!!

Great work out facility and pool still needs some work but depending on your length of stay and needs it worked well for me

Stephen was a welcoming host and the cabin was exactly as described. The location is secluded and quiet, but you’re also close to groceries, restaurants and fun antique stores. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals, and the fireplace is cozy and perfect for relaxing. Even with snow on the ground we enjoyed strolling around the property down to the lake. A wonderful stay, we’d love to visit again.

Amazing home! Clean, comfortable & well equipped. Kids loved the bunk bed, the heated indoor pool and movie theater. Our dog, Skippy, loved the backyard as well. Overall a wonderful experience.

We stayed at Rachell and Cyd’s for about 3 months after relocating to the area. We absolutely loved the home as well as the walkable neighborhood, park, and downtown. We were made to feel at home with tons of useful items, abundant clean linens, and a cozy space. Cyd was very responsive at all times. This lovely house is a no-brainer for a comfortable stay on the North Shore. We will miss our time here.

This house perfectly accommodated my family and I for almost 2 weeks. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bedroom and bathrooms were very clean and the living room had lots of room for my toddlers to run around. We stayed during the winter and the house was pretty cold but they provide individual room space heaters to help, which was great! The host was very quick to respond with any questions we had and were very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing to stay in this area.

A great place to stay at a great value. We used all 6 bedrooms. Perfect location. Papi surprised us with pastry the first and second morning. Was a real pleasure to stay at his place.

This was the perfect place to stay with our dog for our daughter's wedding. Close to the venue and a great walking trail for the dog close by. Mark and Doria went over and beyond for my family and I. we came for the Navy graduation for my son and wanted a home like environment for him to rest in while on liberty. They provided this and so much more. Champagne for the family(Mason couldn't drink), smores, kayaks...and the regular basics any home could need. They made our experience the best I have every had with an airbnb. Definitely will recommend to others coming for graduation as well!!

The host was very responsive and accommodating to our requests. The house is so cute, with lots of space inside, and an amazing backyard. We used the kayaks and paddleboard as well as the cornhole boards. At night we had a fire in the HUGE fire pit and roasted marshmallows. We used the outdoor griddle (the one thing that would have been nice to know was that the grill is charcoal and to bring your own) but we made do with cooking burgers and brats on the griddle and roasting hot dogs over the fire. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with even some seasonings and spices which we didn't use but it was great to know the host was considerate enough to provide them! Overall our stay was comfortable and the house was very clean with lots to do. We will keep it in mind for future trips to the chain of lakes for sure! Thanks for having us.

What we needed and expected

Hello so I had the pleasure of meeting and staying with Sundown Vista’s, they went above and beyond. I had some travel issues due to weather, which messed up my check in date and place. They stayed in full contact with tell 2:00am along with Airbnb to accommodate me. Everything was booked and very busy weekend!!! Sundown Vista found a better place in there collection of marvelous stays. I enjoyed the rest of my trip because of this. Thanks again!!!
