Villa holiday rentals in Kalyves

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. It was located in a more local area about 30-40 minutes from downtown Chania. We were surrounded by stunning views in the mountains. It was quiet, peaceful, and private. Sofia greeted us with such a friendly welcome and a delicious home cooked meal. She was very responsive too. We also enjoyed her local restaurant recommendations. The home itself is beautiful, it was lovely learning about its history and how beautifully traditional the home was kept yet equipped with many updated amenities. Note that renting a car is a must! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

Outstanding views, 5* accommodation with hosts that go above and beyond and can’t do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Recommendations of local places to eat. If you can, take use of the local chefs to come in and cook for you. Family of 7 cost us €280 as a guide without drinks and was beautiful food. The villa is spacious and relaxing and perfectly placed to walk into plaka and short drive to almyrida beach with beautiful fish tavernas and water activities. Party of 3 boys (15,15 and 12), my husband and I and his parents it was the perfect house to have our own spaces but still come together. The photos do not do the house justice at all. The outdoor kitchen, outside bath and jacuzzi plus all the outdoor terraces to each room are spectacular. Enjoy, you won’t be disappointed. Hope to be back again one day. We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa 1891. Alexandra‘s house is a real gem, which makes you feel at home instantly and provides a perfect escape from the stress of everyday life. The traditional old house is beautifully renovated and has kept its ancient charme, decorated with attention to detail. The house is very well equipped and has everything you need. Among oleander and olive trees, you will be sitting and relaxing on this beautiful terrace, enjoying the breathtaking view on the sea or taking a dip in the infinity pool. Alexandra was so kind and welcomed us in person with homemade pastries, local vegetables, a bottle of wine and other delicious treats. Kefalas is a beautiful little village with a couple of taverns and small shops. Everything else is just a short drive away. We stayed four nights and honestly wished we had stayed longer. We‘ll definitely come back!

Stayed as a group of 3x couples and kids of ages ranging from 6mo to 4yr. The villa was perfect. Rare to find a property like this . Stunning views, quiet location, heated pool, swings & slides for the little ones, BBQ for the evenings, building & furnishing quality top notch, and the most responsive and helpful host we've ever experienced for an Airbnb. We had the most relaxing week in Canna Villa! It was a great base for sightseeing & travelling around the local villages. The villa itself met our needs, comfortable and secure. Local supermarket great for essentials, local eateries friendly with good food. We loved the local bakery, it’s a must, for pastries & bread. The cake shop in the square sold the most amazing sweet treats!

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. We had the perfect stay at Villa Avrilla and Dimitris is a friendly and responsive host who helpfully navigated our complicated check in and check out requests. The Villa is very well equipped and stylish just like the photos and with plenty of lovely outdoor spaces and a great pool. The beds and showers are of high quality. A lovely welcome hamper and a bottle of wine was really appreciated. The location is fantastic, feeling very private but with shops, tavernas and a great beach just a stroll away. We would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending to other guests.

A truly unique villa, the views are spectacular and the villa is absolutely stunning. The garden was full of butterfly’s and we picked our own figs, grapes, limes, peppers and tomatoes. The pool was a huge highlight, beautifully designed with both shade and sun. The location of the villa is perfect, both mountain and sea views, very peaceful and there were plenty of lovely places to eat within a 10/15 minute drive. Kostas and his family were really lovely and very helpful. This really is the perfect place to stay.

The house is simply gorgeous. Our family had a wonderful Christmas holiday here. The host was very generous with items in the refrigerator and a well stocked kitchen. Lots of recommendations of places to eat in the area. Michael met us in the driveway upon arrival and showed us everything in the house, that was very kind. Especially loved access to the washer and dryer because we were traveling with kids. It was too cold to use the pool, but if you are here when it is warm, it would be such delight.

We cannot have asked for a better place to stay in Chania. The house is a gorgeous villa perfect for a large family vacation. The location is on a breathtaking hill overlooking the city and old Harbor. There are tons of windows letting in natural light. You can be an old town in eight minutes by car or about 45 minutes walking. There are plenty of local mini markets and restaurants nearby. Michalis was a model host, and gave us plenty of recommendations for day trips, restaurants, treats, activities, and gave us very kind gifts throughout our stay. If we ever return to Crete, we will be staying here again!

The photos don't really do this properly justice. The setting is truly amazing, it's a comfortable space. We had an amazing time. Fit and finish on a few things could be dealt with but very minor things that didn't cause any trouble with our stay. The cleaners came to empty bins and change sheets regularly. You will definitely need a car to get to and from the property.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Kedria! Along with the amazing view of Chania and Souda, the house was incredibly beautiful, clean, and provided everything we needed for our stay in Chania. The hosts were extremely hospitable and responded to every question and request promptly. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was an extension of their home. They provided all of the necessary baby gear and essentials for our little one, who also had a great time enjoying the pool. We’ve never had more caring and responsive hosts. They gave us so many travel tips and food recommendations that made our stay here in Chania one of our most memorable vacations. HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Beautiful location providing absolute tranquility. Enjoyed our stay of 11 days from beginning to end. Accommodation was superb, with everything you could ever need. All fixtures and fittings seemed brand new and were immaculately presented. Outside area was spacious and in a word fantastic. Although we had no problems, I feel Vardis would have dealt with anything we would have needed, efficiently and professionally. Vardis came to meet us at check in and was a real pleasure, even carrying in our suitcases. We met his father who came to clean the beautiful swimming pool during our stay and was lovely to meet him. We had a wonderful stay at Aggeliki’s place! The house was perfect — the bedroom was very spacious and filled with light, and the kitchen was clean and well-equipped. Aggeliki was an amazing host; there’s already a lot of helpful information in the Airbnb listing, and she was always quick to respond to our messages. The location was fantastic: a quiet, charming village with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was within a reasonable driving distance, making it a great starting point to explore the island. There’s a small market nearby, a lovely café with a cute garden, and even a walking trail around the village with some interesting insights into its history. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this place!

We had a great time ,very quiet and peaceful..the local restaurant was really welcoming and served great food.. 2 recommendations if your planning to book here hard to locate at night time so aim to arrive in the day, and my advice You will definitely need to hire a car ... We stayed at Niko’s beautiful villa as a group of 10 and had an unforgettable experience. The villa itself was stunning, with breathtaking views that we enjoyed every single day. From relaxing by the pool to exploring the local culture and parties, everything exceeded our expectations. Niko was more than just a host—he truly became a friend. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home, always available with helpful tips and a warm smile. His hospitality made our trip even more special. Anastasia is a top, top hostess, and the house and garden is even nicer than the pictures. We stayed for one whole month in April . Waking up to sunrise and enjoying our coffee on the roof terrace was fantastic. The house itself was also great for the kids. The only downside was that Kalyves wasn’t such a nice city for small kids (ours are 5 and 3 and 1) unfortunately. People drive the narrow streets way to fast, (which they do all over Crete) and there was also no real town square without cars. And no good place except the beach to hang out. It pains me to say, because I cannot imagine a more welcoming and serving hostess as Anastasia. The upside with the location was that it was central to both Chania, Rethimnon, Hora Sfakion and not too far from Heraklion. We had a car and if you are staying for longer than a 3-4 days it is absolutely recommended as there are a lot of beautiful places within a short drive.
