We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Philia. A lovely peaceful private house in the heart of the beautiful village of Gavalohori. Wonderful facilities, nice shady decks with great views of the White Mountains. The pool is amazing - you share it with the downstairs apartment, but it is super private. The local tavernas are amazing, and a nice little bakery and a couple of small convenience stores. Walking around Gavalohori is just beautiful. Angelos met us on arrival, shared his mother's home made spinach pies and of course, raki. The house was wonderfully ventilated with insect screens on all the windows - we didn't need to use the AC at all. If you are looking to escape the touristy towns, a stay at at Villa Philia in beautiful Gavalohori is a must.

My friend and I stayed at the accommodation for 5 days and were very satisfied with our stay. The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. The beautiful terrace with whirlpool is worth highlighting. The location is great. It is about 15 minutes by car to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is in a quiet location. It offers a good starting point for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fresh Greek salad, oranges, and wine. A few days later, we received fresh vegetables from the garden. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

Wonderful stay! The location is incredible. It’s in a beautiful area with historic alleyways, very walkable but not right next to bars so it’s not very loud at night. There is some noise at night as people are walking home and sit outside, but nothing that prevented us from sleeping well. The space was very clean and perfect for our stay. Michalis was a wonderful host and made us feel very comfortable and took care of everything we needed. I highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Four friends and I stayed in this rustic, charming, beautiful and overall homie space for 7 days while we attending a wedding and we all unanimously could not have been more happy! This is a space that you feel so great walking into over and over. I had the best meal of my life with the entire party literally around the corner… maybe 20 steps and we were all in glee. The entire area in old town is gorgeous. You cannot see it any other way. There is a vibe to match your needs somewhere around another corner no matter what you look for on your trip. Shopping was excellent. The feeling of safety was consistent throughout the trip. People are friendly and common throughout the town even throughout the wee morning hours as many places do stay open quite late to always provide an option. I had said by day 1 I knew I would already come back here. Vassilis was a proactive and responsive gentleman in hosting. Truly a pleasure to deal with him and I really do hope to return for vacation. Thanks!

Fantastic Villa for our family party. Spacious, well equipt and with lovely pool and view. There are nice (and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance too). Neighbourhood was peaceful. We felt very much at home, mainly due to the fantastic hosting. Georgia and Andreas are so friendly. Cheerful , beautiful people. They want to make every part of the stay special. Thank you both! ❤️

Anyone who has gone on family holidays with their parents in the 90s and the next, and remembers them with nostalgia, stay here... It brought back memories of my childhood holidays. Very beautiful and simple space, with the hammocks in each apartment, the sun in the morning as it hit the grass, the smell of the morning watering, the seagulls that can be heard from afar and the whole setup made me think about it for every summer season, even a 3-day stay with my family... The apartment has the basics, and anything one thinks they will need extra, I think the host, who is excellent in terms of communication, will provide it! Thanks so much!

We had an amazing stay at Villa Manos 1 in the end of april 2025. We only found out a couple of days before going, that the pool season at the house normally starts in May (this was our own fault). The owner Manos was very kind to start the pool early for us. When we arrived he was there to greet us at the house, and incredibly kind and helpful. A couple of days after our arrival, new madresses for the beds arrived, and these were very good. Manos was very helpful with advice for the area, and on easter his mother Katerina had bought easter eggs for our children. Manos is a very kind person, and when turned out our 4 year old son had the chicken pox, he made us feel safe both with regards to maybe staying in the house, and getting medical help. All in all we felt very much at home and in very good hands, and we enjoyed the stay so much that we would consider going back.

Breathtaking view! The house is brand new, it corresponds exactly to the pictures shown. The pool is very large & during the day there is a perfect mix of sunny and shady spots. There are many small taverns nearby, you never had to drive far. Very clear recommendation for this villa, it is perfect & we would love to come back anytime!

The apartment is really beautiful and well-equipped, also for cooking. The balcony offers beautiful views, especially for sunsets. Parking is simple, the pool is very nice. The only flaw is the shower, it is missing a wall or curtain so as not to wet everything around it. The staff is very responsive in case of any problem. I would highly recommend!

Sunset Villa - it’s peaceful location and surroundings, amenities, cleanliness and views - oh the views - ticked every box. We had the perfect stay. Doron was easy to communicate with and was very helpful and flexible. We hired a car and visited Chania, Rethymno, Kalyves, Vamos, Lake Kournas (hired a pedalo and saw the turtles) and had several lazy days on Almyrida beach. So many great places to eat down in Almyrida plus several tavernas easily walkable in Plaka. Highly recommend Elpis. Everywhere we ate the food was wonderful and the people so welcoming and generous. Complimentary bread, wine, dessert, coffee, Raki.. The villa offered everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the pool, and having breakfast and relaxing evenings on the terrace. We’d highly recommend and hope to return. Thanks Doron!

Great accommodation with everything you need for a peaceful, isolated stay - yet in walking distance to the beautiful downtown. The house is surrounded by nature, with views to the mountain and a nice garden very well prepared to spend your evenings. The hosts are very welcoming, we felt like at home and are grateful for everything they provided for us. Very recommended, we hope to come back!

Words and photos cannot describe the beauty of this place. We had an absolutely magical visit. The home is comfortable and very clean and everything you need in the kitchen. Stella was the perfect host. She was so kind and thought of everything you might need. Make sure to follow her recommendations for restaurants as they were amazing. We spent the most lovely time at Nikos place with our baby and friends. The villa is located directly by the sea with a spectacular view. We enjoyed really enjoyed our breakfasts watching the waves and listening to the ocean so much. The place is very quiet and private. Nikos is the most welcoming host and gave us great directions for the island. We can definitely recommend staying there! Thank you so much for having us.

10/10 experience. Breathtaking views and sunset from the balcony, perfect location right on the harbor - surrounded by all of the best restaurants and places. The apartment is beautiful - clean, modern, great appliances. (The washing machine even uses AI). The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and despite being in the middle of the action, it is so peaceful. I didn’t want to leave. I will be back here again. The hosts were incredible. Kind, helpful, proactive, and made such a nice experience for us. Thank you!!!!!

Manos and Christina were very friendly and responsive. All of our questions were answered promptly. The house was a little difficult to find at night but Christina was there at check in to show us around. At the house, there were supplies like eggs, lunch meat, bread, fresh fruit, olive oil , and a bottle of wine. This was greatly appreciated as we arrived after dark and it gave us some breakfast food for the morning. We loved the sound of the waves at night lulling us to sleep! The hosts also changed the bedding and sheets after a couple of days which was extremely thoughtful and generous. The house is close to many restaurants and has a few super markets near by. Close beaches were also nice and we enjoyed the peacefulness they provided prior to the big tourist season. Lake Kournas was beautiful and only about an hour drive from the house. Having a car was nice but not entirely necessary for the house’s location. Driving in Crete can be a little daunting but doable!

You’ll have a nice stay here. Lilit’s mum checked us in and the place was spotless. Downstairs has a kitchen/living area, a bathroom with a bath/shower, and three bedrooms. Each bedroom has air-con and two bedrooms have balconies. The kitchen/living area has air-con and the bathroom has a clothes washing machine. Upstairs has a kitchen/living area and a bathroom with a shower. The kitchen/living area has air-con. The upstairs tv is a dumb tv and the downstairs tv is a smart tv. Toilet roll can’t be flushed in either bathroom, as is standard in Crete. Both kitchens have a sink, hob, oven, fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher, pots, pans, crockery. The host left us water, fruit and wine. The parking area has gates, which are controlled by a fob. You have to drive up a hill to get to the property. Bins are at the bottom of the hill. Taverna Irene is walking distance and has nice food and wine and cats! I’d recommend hiring an automatic car because Crete is hilly.

A cozy home in a beautiful setting This is our second stay at Kalliopi's, and we are very satisfied with it. The house, a few minutes walk from the village, has all the useful amenities. Small great market in the center of the village for common needs. We really enjoyed the terrace, in front of a beautiful landscape over the valley and mountains across the street. Very nice, in the evening at sunset, back from a day of hiking. Perfect calm. Kalliopi always responds very quickly if you have any questions and is attentive to the satisfaction of the tenants during the stay, while being discreet. A perfect stay that we'll renew
