Take it easy at this secluded, waterfront cabin near beautiful Magnolia Beach. Fish or launch kayaks from your front yard. This rustic property is located down a dirt road that can be very difficult to access when it rains a lot. 4x4 vehicles recommend. During dry times, the road is fine. Wildlife of all kinds are sometimes seen, many species of birds, bobcat, deer, and sometimes snakes. Alligators live in Old Town Lake, much like any body of water in South Texas. Swimming not recommended.

We Dig It - Magnolia Beachfront Cottage

Bring the family or a group of fishing buddies to this great place with lots of room for fun and lots of amenities. This home has its own private beach (this is a shell beach, not like a gulf beach), immediately adjacent to Magnolia Beach Park. Only 200 yards from the boat ramp, this cozy cottage has amazing views of Matagorda Bay with a patio to enjoy the sunrise. Five miles down Magnolia Beach is Indianola Fishing Marina, which has a bar and restaurant with great food, and a fishing dock.

Your days will start with colorful Matagorda Bay sunrises and equally spectacular Powder horn Lake sunsets. The 360 degree views from the crow's-nest, are a favorite for bird and dolphin watching. Fish the bay out front or lake in the back. Just a few yards away, the Indianola Courthouse monument and Cistern monument are remainders of the catastrophic hurricanes of historic Indianola.

The views are amazing from everywhere you look. Bring your boat, kayak, Mules and golf carts--we've got the room. Launch kayaks into marsh by the house (no beach access). Marina is about a minute away--$5.00 per pole or to launch. Kitchen is loaded. Our living and bedroom space is just right for a smaller group. Bedrooms separate from main house--King Bed in upstairs and 2nd bedroom in separate structure for privacy and Laz-y Boy Queen sleeper in living room.

Ocean front beach house

This is our second time in staying, we went with friends 4 years prior. We hadn't planned on staying there this time as it was just the two of us, so we had booked somewhere smaller and cheaper, and we drove 4 hours to get there waiting all day to check in only to get a text our room wasn't ready and still 2 hours later was not ready. Luckily, I was able to book this place, and extremely lucky it was available! THIS WAS OUR BEST TRIP TO THE COAST SINCE OUR DAUGHTER WAS A LITTLE GIRL. Hubby and I had such a wonderful experience! The wind was awful, but the fishing was great, we caught two huge bull red's, drum, gafftop, cats, sheephead, 4 stingrays (small) & more. They always have the crab traps set! We brought home a bunch of blue crab as well. ****We have decided no matter if it is just the two of us, from now on, the expense to stay here is well worth it, and the experience is PRICELESS for a little slice of Magnolia Beach heaven. I only wish I could live there! Common lottery!

My wife and I stayed for a few days and really enjoyed our visit. Remote area that is great for someone who wants to fish and get away from the city life. It’s a good fish camp type setup that is nothing fancy and it’s priced that way. We really enjoyed visiting with the host and learning about the history of the area.

The house was just the right size—not too big, not too small—and had a warm, welcoming vibe from the moment we arrived. We had a minor hiccup getting in since the code worked but the bottom lock was also engaged. Luckily, Laney was super responsive and got us sorted quickly. The location is great—tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area that felt very relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials, and the ice maker was a major hit! I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like kids’ plates, cups, and utensils. The beds were very comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. A few things to note: there were no baking pans, which was a bit disappointing. The recliner had a hole in the footrest that ended up scratching the kids, and the window pane behind the couch was starting to crumble. For longer stays, there isn’t much storage space like a dresser or closet, but the main bedroom has plenty of floor space if needed.
