Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Hvalfjarðarsveit

We loved this place. It was nice and quiet. A great home base for our Iceland day trips.

This home offered a cozy place to stay for our family of 9 as we visited the Golden Circle. The rural location was so peaceful. The kitchen was nice for meal preparation and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely recommend this home for your stay!

Out of hundreds of rentals, this is one of my favorites. The home is only 15 minutes from a little town, but you feel like you are totally alone on the beautiful lake. We loved sitting in the hot tub and watching all the birds come and go. It’s incredibly well stocked- extra towels, great kitchen stuff, kayaks, fishing gear, laundry room, games closet, etc. There are luxuries like under floor heating, double black out curtains and several nice televisions. It kind of ruined the rest of our Iceland trip because no other home was nearly as great. Even with 4 kids, there was so much room and we all loved it.

A peaceful and private cabin surrounded by mountains and a lake. The house is beautiful and spacious. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook dinners and breakfast. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 1 child to spread out and relax. Thankful for such a kind, patient, responsive host!

Leszek was very supportive, the information about the house precise. The place is beautiful, cozy and cabin-like. The hot tub is very pleasant (the water smells like sulfur due to the geothermal area). we would definitely recommend this place Nd come back again!

A beautiful and peaceful place in a neighborhood of new construction, far enough away from the crowd and tourists downtown but close enough to get there in 20min by car when desired. Easy access to the Golden Circle. Was perfect for my family and having two bathrooms was particularly nice. Communication was always quick and excellent.

We had a great time exploring Reykjavik staying at Bryndis’s place. Everything was easily walkable, but the street itself was quiet and peaceful when we were resting. Perfect and cozy!

This was a great place for us to stay. It’s close to grocery stores and restaurants. It’s also close to the city so it is convenient but it’s very nice that you are not right in the city. I would highly recommend staying here.

Lena´s place is great for a couple or single traveler. The location is right next to the church but is on a side street so it was nice and quiet.

All I can say is — the rumors are true! This place is one of the best AirBnBs I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve been doing this a while. Sigridur and Omar are wonderful hosts— they made me feel right at home, very friendly and helpful with recommendations for where to eat and shop, and generally very sweet and welcoming people. The apartment actually seemed a bit bigger and more adorable in person. I was verycomfortable

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Jon’s Penthouse. It was easy walking distance to all the main sights in Reykjavik, plus there were many restaurants and groceries close by. Since there was an elevator to the fourth floor, it was easy to manage with luggage. Even though it is in the city, we never heard any noise. The apartment is very tidy and has all the amenities needed for a nice stay. We did not totally understand how to use the hot spot, but did not need it since we had eSIMs. Each evening we watched a variety of movies on Netflix, which were much appreciated. Although it was pleasant when we arrived at the end of May, by the beginning of June a huge storm arrived and it was so windy, I could barely stand when walking. However, Jon’s place is a warm and quiet oasis in a storm.

A spacious, well lit apartment with great views and walking distance from the city centre. Edda was a very responsive and helpful host. The apartment was equipped with everything needed for a long trip to Iceland. We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed at Gunnar’s apartment for a week during our visit to Reykjavík. The location was good and pretty central to restaurants and attractions we wanted to visit. We did rent a car which made travel much easier and the parking was abundant and not too expensive. The apartment itself was clean overall although some areas had some dust. No complaints here, it wasn’t a big deal. Gunnar did advertise that the apartment house(d) two cats but as someone with cat allergies I had no problem with any fur or cat dander. FYI, across Iceland the hot water is heated geothermically which gives off a sulfur smell, so don’t be alarmed. Thanks Gunnar, for allowing us to stay at your apartment during the week! Ken + Jenn

We really enjoyed our stay at Angela's flat - the location is perfect and we could easily walk to everything. Having the Coffee Roasters and Braud & Co Bakery cinnamon rolls = wow literally right around the corner was a huge plus. The flat is huge, super spacious and very comfortable. Great base to explore Reykjavik.

This was a great place to stay during our time in Reykjavik. It’s very easy to get to everything the city has to offer, but it is far enough away from the city center to be a peaceful quiet place to stay. We had everything we needed and more here. I’m so glad we were able to stay here, and would highly recommend it!

This stay was such a highlight of our trip! We really enjoyed the location in a beautiful peaceful neighborhood, right next to the bike/ walking path that you can take into downtown. Helgi and Titti are the best hosts! We felt welcomed as if we were one of their neighbors. Such a joy to hang out in the garden and drink coffees and pet their dog :) they have lots of good local reccommendations. Can’t imagine a better place to stay either as a couple or a solo traveller- can’t wait to be back one day, a very special place.

Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Aufenthalt in Reykjavik! Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Der Zuschnitt und die Gestaltung des Appartments hat uns besonders gut gefallen und die nach hinten begehbare Terrasse gab ein zusätzliches Raumgefühl. Obwohl wir tageweise zu fünft in der Wohnung waren, konnten wir uns gut arrangieren. Die Wohnung hat 2 separate Schlafzimmer mit jeweils Doppelbett sowie zusätzlich eine ausziehbare Couch im kombinierten Wohn-Esszimmer mit einer optisch abgetrennter Küchennische. Auch die Lage hat uns sehr gut gefallen: die Wohnung liegt in einer angenehmen, ruhigen Nachbarschaft und ist gleichzeitig nah zur Innenstadt und zum Hafen. Einen Parkplatz gab es meistens direkt vor dem Haus. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, der Check-In problemlos und die Kommunikation mit Amos und Berglind sehr freundlich und gut. Besonders hilfreich war, dass wir schon am Vortag Gepäck abstellen konnten. Wir können diese Wohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!

I cannot recommend this condo enough. This was a great place right outside of Reykjavík that allowed us to quickly go into town and provided a great jumping off point for our tours. The condo was welcoming and very clean - it is exactly how the photos and description describe it. The amenities were great, and the laundry was wonderful after long days. Also, Hannes was a phenomenal host. He allowed us to check in early because of an early morning flight, and was extremely responsive to any question I had. I cannot wait to return and rebook this condo. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Hannes for your hospitality!

We enjoyed our stay at Oddny’s airbnb. We appreciated the flexible check in and check out times. She was a friendly host and a good communicator. The place is really clean. It has a homey feeling-beautiful light, unique art, an abundance of books, and live plants. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. The shower had great water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The place was in good walking distance to attractions, restaurants, and shopping. A coffee shop is just down the block. It was our first time at an airbnb with a cat and we really enjoyed this experience. Moli was a well behaved, independent cat who made the trip extra special (no litter box to clean).
