This relaxed space stands in a courtyard off the top of Frenchgate, one of the town's best-known ancient cobbled streets. It's a peaceful spot only a few minutes' walk from the market square with its shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. Free parking (one car). We provide you with the basics to get you started (coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter etc). Towels, shampoo and bedding also provided.

Although there are a few quirks Norman is working on, his place is a lovely, self-sufficient retreat. He has added several homey touches and nicely accessorized the kitchen. The bed was comfortable too. The best part is how easy it was to walk into Richmond to get needed supplies, but mostly take in the historic and quaint feel of the little city, and also have refreshing nature walks on one of many trails near the River Swale. Public transportation can get you to breathtaking hikes through the dales. All in all, Ivy Cottage was the perfect place to rest, rejuvenate, and relax in a beautiful spot.

A beautiful cottage, which is even better than the photos show. Everything you need, clean, a lovely outdoor space and comfy beds. Children’s toys, gorgeous bath and welcome wine/crisps were an added bonus. Sue was very welcoming and no problems at check in etc. We will be returning! Thank you.
