Holiday rentals with a kayak in Hood Canal

A beautiful space. The hummingbirds were flitting amongst the bushes, while the crows were rearing their young in the giant trees. The hot tub lies beneath the vaulted cathedral ceiling of ancient douglas fir trees. The soaking experience is the literal meaning of a forest bath. The cool clear water of the sound was a welcome repite from the heat of the tub. Sitting in front of a bonfire we watched a purple Mt Rainier fade with the sunset as the full strawberry moon rose over the hills sucking the tide out beyond the view of the waning firelight. The night time low tide and its crisp slipping sounds beckoned the inviting cool smooth sheets; an endless king size bed of relaxing contentment.

All the lake amenities were great, as well as the hot tub. Had everything we needed!

Fantastic home! Made so many great memories with my family, combing the beach and exploring Washington. A perfect base camp for recharging after a long day of adventures! This home is great for young children. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at the Ostrich nest was great! Right on the water, with plenty of amenities and a fantastic outdoor space to take advantage of. We kayaked around the island in about 95 leisurely minutes using the provided kayaks and paddles. A/C was available but not needed - yet good to know it was there. The kitchen had everything you'd expect from a short term rental as well. All in all, it was a good weekend.

We loved the space. Great views. Windows for days. We even measured some spaces in the house to incorporate into our home build. It’s not a large home but it feels so spacious with all the natural light. Truly feels like home. It’s not a cheap rental but the value is all there. We would love to return sometime! Zero complaints and I’d highly recommend the stay for anyone looking to visit the area.

Absolutely Perfect Getaway! This beautiful waterfront home exceeded all expectations. The views are absolutely incredible, and the outdoor living space is both relaxing and family-friendly. The spacious yard was perfect for the kids to play, and the house itself was well-stocked with everything we needed. It truly is a gem in the Pacific Northwest-a must-stay! Both of our families had a fantastic time. The hosts were wonderful and communicated clearly throughout. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

We had such a lovely stay here over the Easter weekend – it was everything we hoped for and more! The house is clean, beautifully kept, and the views? Absolutely breathtaking. It’s one of those rare places that feels even better in person than in the pictures. It had everything we could possibly need – and then some. The hosts were simply wonderful – super friendly, accommodating, and just really easy to talk to. They made the whole experience feel warm and personal, not distant or transactional in any way. They even let us check in early and check out late, which made a huge difference for us with kids. Our days were filled with beach walks, seafood harvesting adventures, backyard chill time, and gorgeous sunsets. It felt like a perfect little reset from our busy lives. We were also celebrating our daughter’s 4th birthday during the stay, and she had an absolute blast. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Dale & Carol.

Had a great stay! Even though we were there in the middle of a heat wave, the bottom floor was lovely and cool. We had a lot of fun with the paddle boards and watching the tide come in and out! A note that the access to the water with the paddle boards was best accomplished with two people!

Good cozy place. Very convenient for our shrimping week with the dock and location. Our buddies booked their other place right below and we had a great time.

Peaceful lakeside location with excellent communication from the host. Everything was perfect! This stay exceeded our expectations. The location is absolutely stunning—just steps from the lake, with plenty of space to relax and take it all in. Thanks again!

We loved our stay! The deep sea / blue theme was so welcoming, and the location right on the shore was beautiful. Lots of birds and eagles and cute animals on the property. I fell in love with Edgar the black cat! Margo and Sam are so kind and wonderful. Highly recommend for a single person, 2 close friends, or couple's getaway!

I really enjoyed my stay here . The hosts were super responsive and always very friendly. The space is very small in size but arranged so it isn’t a problem and lots of little nice touches through out. I didn’t use any of their extras but appreciated that they had an emergency toothbrush , hair gel, etc. the kitchen has what you need even if you want to cook a real meal. Don’t worry about the ferry bugging you, it’s surprisingly quiet at night and I didn’t notice it at all. Overall a great place at a pretty good price and I plan to rebook again in the future.

This place is amazing! I loved that it was like staying at a friend's house - it had so much character. Not boring and staged like a hotel. There wasn't an "owner's closet" like most rentals. Jess is a beautiful soul that shares her amazing space and genuinely wants you to enjoy every minute. From the decor to the records, hammock, outdoor tub, kayaks, exploring the low tide wildlife...everything brought peace and relaxation. We never even turned on the television...it was magical!

Wonderful stay. Beautiful surroundings and very cozy and comfortable house and furnishings. Really nice to have a hot tub right there with a view! Great for a big family or small group. Kitchen was very well supplied. Lots to do right around the property. Hosts had everything very organized and easy to follow. Would 100% stay again!

Jacob's place is really special! The view and outdoor seating area would make this spot worth it, but the house is also really well taken care of, cozy, and enjoyable to spend time in. We loved our time here and felt it was a great home base for exploring the area or relaxing on the water.

We had a wonderful and peaceful vacation weekend in Allyn! Fang’s home was easy to get to and settle into. We loved watching the water and tides, and it was easy to walk to restaurant, coffee shops and more. We spent most of our days on day trips in the region (Staircase Ridge & Hama Hama Oysters, and the Tacoma Zoo). This was the perfect place to recharge. We also loved the kayaks and hot tub, and generally cozy space. Fang was proactive and easy to communicate with throughout our stay as well.

Stunning views, a lot of water activities. The place is cute and comfortable, will come back!

My friend and I stayed here for a girls trip and it was perfect! The historic cabin is cozy, cute, and equipped with everything you need for a peaceful getaway. When we weren’t at the cabin relaxing we enjoyed being able to exploring downtown Port Townsend. Darrell and Carlene made us feel welcome and excited to share their beautiful cabin. I highly recommend staying here and plan to be back!

Nice and cozy place surrounded by trees. Relaxing to sit outside on the hammock and just listen to nature. You might even get a visit from a friendly deer. They give you everything that you need if you want to enjoy a day or two on the lake. Always answered questions that I had in a timely manner. Food and activities to do in close proximity. They leave brochures for you if you are interested in driving for further out places. Overall it was everything my wife and I were looking for. I highly recommend this place if you are planning a trip in or around hoodsport.

The Hideaway was everything we hoped it would be and more. The hosts made sure the house was clean and inviting. They also provided so many unexpected and wonderful details…luxury bath products, a basket of snacks, a dog bed and toy for our pup…and they even setup the firewood in the main fire pit so we didn’t even have to struggle building our own fire! Plus! Don’t even get me started on the sauna…it was EVERYTHING. We have stayed at a good number of Air bnb places over the years and this was far and away our favorite place. It’s beautiful. Book it!

They provided all the necessary support in a very professional manner. The scenery by the lake near the cabin is absolutely beautiful. Whether you’re inside the house, out in the yard, or by the lake, you can easily find plenty of things to do and enjoy. It’s a pity I could only stay for one night this time. I’d love to come back and stay longer if I have the chance in the future.

This was the perfect get away cabin! It’s just far enough out of the cities to feel secluded but close to enough to not feel like it’s a constant commute to do anything. The cabin was extremely well stocked and a very comfortable stay. Every evening was perfect with the deck and views to settle down for the night. I hope to be able to come again soon!

Inside and out, this place is amazing! There is so much to do on site, I calI it the "yes" house. Can you use the indoor fireplace? Yes! Can you use the grill? Yes! Can you use the kayaks? Yes! Everything you see is shared with you! (A note on the kayaks, they were too tipsy for us so next time we'll try their standup paddleboards.) In addition, this is the most well-stocked house I HAVE EVER SEEN! Tons of towels, blankets, etc but then additional things that save you trips to the store... matches, batteries, and a FULLY loaded kitchen! Our favorite activities were hunting for sea treasures, watching all the harbor seals pop their little heads up, making campfires in the evening, and watching the ferry when it chose to dock at the terminal that's right in front of the house. (There is an amazing view from the upstairs bedroom when it's there!) If there's poor weather, the house is still loaded with fun from games, puzzles, and a huge projector screen tv down in the ferry room.
