This host is prepared! The many thoughtful details made this stay delightful— traditional candies made in York, prosecco, lots of brochures and local suggestions, nice shampoo and toiletries. The walk to town is very doable. We were able to check in an hour early as our train arrived early. Also, we had to abandon a broken suitcase. Stuart was great about helping us with that. Thanks!

Home from home. What a wonderful place! It was our first time visiting York and we had such a brilliant time, we will definitely be back! And we wouldn’t stay anywhere else other than Graeme’s place! The accommodation was within walking distance of the town centre and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. The place was spotless throughout, the bed was very comfortable with good quality bed linen and the shower had good pressure. We were enjoying ourselves so much we ended up staying extra night! Thanks again Graeme for a lovely stay :)

The house was well positioned close to the river, making for a pleasant stroll into the city and public transport. It contained everything needed for a comfortable stay, and was a cosy retreat after a long day of exploring. The host Mike ensured that check in went smoothly and was quickly responsive to questions (like how to walk there from the railway station). Highly recommended.

We had a great few days in the house. It was very clean and comfortable exactly as described and shown in the photos. Clare left a few doggie treats in the kitchen which was thoughtful. Having a garden was great, not only for our puppy but for us chilling out in after a tiring day in York. It was conveniently situated for buses, dog walking area and local supermarket. Car parking is very much a bonus as parking in York itself is very expensive. Communication was always good. We would definitely recommend this house to stay as Clare and Gary are the perfect hosts.

Silvia made our stay absolutely wonderful. She was very informative from the start. The home was very well maintained, clean and very tidy. We celebrated our anniversary during our stay and the personal added touches made a great start to our weekend away. Very thoughtful! The house was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The manual was very helpful and listed everything we needed to know about local amenities, aswel as having leaflets on what York had to offer. Would million percent recommend this host and there beautiful home. The home was in a good location and also offered parking. Check in and out was very easy and we had a very lovely time in York thanks to the amazing hosting of Silvia. Don't hesitate to book your stay here. We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We really appreciated the little touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The jacuzzi was lovely! The hosts were great at providing us with all the information we needed for a stress free check in/out and a perfect stay. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mini break. Peacocks were a lovely surprise seeing them walk around the estate. Thanks again! Lovely stay in York, being able to leave the car in a private spot during the day and walk to the town centre was definitely a bonus. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple cooking and the bathroom was very clean. We didn’t get bothered by neighbours or outside noise during the night so that was perfect ! Gary gave very clear instructions and was quick to respond whenever I messaged him. Would definitely recommend !

Such a great place to stay when visiting York. Short walk into the centre and accommodation comes with parking space . The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. Lovely comfy bed. Also has a great host, very helpful. Would recommend and definitely book again.

I had a lovely stay here—very peaceful and comfortable. The accommodation is separate but close to the main house, so you occasionally see people passing the windows or working in the garden. Not a problem, just something to note. The bed was comfy, temperature perfect, and the shower worked great. There’s no kitchen, which made things a bit tricky. A microwave, toaster, and kettle are provided, but the toaster set off the fire alarm twice during my stay. And there’s no sink—so dishes have to be washed in the bathroom with no drying space. It’s a bit far from the city center, but the bus runs regularly (just not exactly as listed on Google—usually 5 minutes later). The listing was accurate about the location and facilities. I enjoyed my time here and would recommend this place to other travellers.

Listing is as advertised. Stairs to unit are easy to climb. Such a wonderful cozy place to stay. The bed and pull out were both quite comfortable. Seems recently renovated, nice touches with decor items. The Shambles is across the street. A perfect place to stay while in York. Lovely rooftop views.Quiet inside the flat.Glad we stayed here!

Carolyns place is perfect for a trip toYork. Within walking distance to everything, but tucked away just outside the busy city center. Clean and comfy. Id stay again.

A wonderful stay in York, we didn't want to be in the centre but with the bus stop at the end of the road it was a 15 minute journey into town and the train station (number 1 bus was the best to take). Quiet location, the place was lovely, clean and just what we wanted. Comfy beds and nice big sofas to chill. Would highly recommend and will definitely like to return. Thank you Jen

What an amazing place to stay. The apartment was so clean and cozy and had amazing decor. It had everything we could have needed for our two night stay. Just a stones throw away from York centre and surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again, absolutely worth the visit!

Wonderful apartment in a great location for York. Nicole is a superb host who clearly takes pride in her property, answers any query within just a couple of hours and you always felt that she was there if you needed anything. You can get caught out by the one way system in York getting to the building, but only a very minor point. Thank you Nicole for providing such a great place to stay.

Had a great short stay! Perfect for what we needed. On street parking was spot on - great to walk into town. Peaceful nights rest, very pleased to see coffee in the cupboard in the morning too, thank you!

Straight from the start, we knew that we were going to have a great weekend in York at Liz’s place with her quick responses to my messages and the flexibility of checking . fantastic quality of furnishings in the apartment and the breakfast package was very unexpected but very much appreciated. Only a short 10 minute walk into the town so everything was literally on . We will definitely use the apartment again for any future visits to York. Highly recommended your doorstep

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shambles Secret. Jenny proved to be a first class host, who went above and beyond to make her guests happy; we cannot thank her enough. The flat was exactly as depicted in the pictures, lovely and cosy and a real home from home. We slept really well, and although the flat is right in the centre of York, it was remarkably quiet. We enjoyed our time in the flat as much as we did sightseeing in fabulous York. Shambles Secret really is right where you want to be, EVERYTHING was within walking distance. Lovely place to stay

We had a lovely stay at Richard’s flat. Richard met us to let us in and showed us around. He is an extremely friendly and helpful host. The flat itself is very well equipped, clean, comfortable and peaceful. It may be a little cramped for anyone who is particularly tall as there as some low beams, but other than that, is highly recommended. It is in a nice area of York, v close to the city walls. Around 15-20 min walk into the centre.

Great location for a stay in York 2min from the city walls and 5 from the Minster.
