Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Hersonissos

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

It was absolutely amazing. Beautiful views from veranda. Gorgeously traditional house. A step away from a lovely beach. It was up a short, steep hill, perfect for us but might not be for everyone.

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It's tucked away in a very secluded spot, which makes it wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, you can reach restaurants and a mini market in just a few minutes. A car is essential! The garden is stunning. The biodiversity is incredible. There's always something new to discover. The house is quite small and simply furnished, but that was absolutely fine. Everything was clean, and that's what matters most. The long driveway leading to the house can be a bit intimidating—it just slopes down without any railing or guard. But that’s just part of the Cretan charm. Giannis was always very friendly and helpful—thank you for everything! We also got to know the neighboring family and even visited them. Such kind people. And the animals! Aphroditi the horse, a peacock, chickens, and turkeys—our daughter loved them. Overall a great experience. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it. Who knows—maybe we’ll be back in a few years!

Lovely place to stay and well set up - we had a very comfortable couple of days Fabulous to be welcomed with fresh produce most of which was home grown in the fridge and a bottle of wine as well as oils and vinegar and tea and coffee Would definitely stay there again

It was all perfect!! The apartment is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Everything is very, very clean and lovingly furnished. There's nothing missing! The balconies are great, I enjoyed lying on the lounger in the sun and looking at the trees. No one can look up at the balcony by the bedroom, you really have your peace here. Just a few minutes' walk and you are already in the lively old town. Nevertheless, you have your peace and quiet here. I was able to sleep well and the bed was very comfortable. You have everything you need here and I immediately felt very comfortable. The hosts are very pleasant and warm. I love Crete and especially Malia and can also recommend this accommodation without restriction. There is also parking is available right in front of the house. Price and performance is excellent!! May 2025, 10 nights stay for three (2 adults, 1 toddler). Villa is really fantastic. Beautiful view of the sea and the bay. It offers plenty of space for more people (2 couples, 4-6 friends, 2 families) and for longer stays (storage space, cupboards and shelves, etc.). The furnishings correspond to the description and offer, even in the kitchen, everything you need. Our highlight was the covered terrace. Our flight was moved up at short notice. A significantly earlier check-in was no problem at all in our case. Stelios is a very friendly, helpful and dedicated host. We recommend him and his villa without reservation. Small restriction: the accommodation is a bit off the beaten track or the region is a bit scattered (mainly due to the geography of the terrain). Without your own car, it will be a bit difficult in our opinion. However, there is a free parking space directly at the house.

The villa is clean, well stocked, and spacious. Simos was incredibly responsive and great to communicate with. The area is lovely, with a few excellent restaurants in walking distance, wineries and olive farms really close, and Knossos Palace also a short drive away. It’s a great place to unwind and the proximity to the Heraklion airport is also a bonus if you’re flying off the island.

We stayed at Villa Elena for a week. ( Family of five / three children age 8,11 and 14. The Villa was lovely - nicer than the photos. We loved the pool - great size, a bit bigger and deeper than expected. The view was was amazing, i miss it already. Beaches, restaurants and shops in walking distance. Everyone was so friendly. George was a brilliant host - very responsive and kind He spent time giving great recommendations which was very helpful. We loved our time in crete and would definitely recommend booking here.

We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay in Crete. Katerina welcomed us very well in this paradise island me and my sister. Indeed, she welcomed us at the bus stop to show us the beautiful apartment which is a 10-minute walk from the beach. The apartment had all the necessary amenities and it was very clean (the bedrooms, the kitchen, the shower, the sheets,...). Katerina was listening and answering all our questions throughout our stay. She showed us the supermarket which is 10 minutes away by bus where you can find tasty vegetables and fruits and local products like olive oil and honey. It also showed us the tourist places: the most beautiful beaches of Crete like the sublime Sarantaris beach, the beautiful Heraklion Cruises to Dia Island and the beautiful neighboring towns like Nikolaos. very nice clean modern apartment equipped with everything, air conditioning, equipped kitchen, washing machine, comfortable bed, only flaw is the lack of a dishwasher. around the house there were several cats and also 4 adorable dogs that live in that area, but don't be afraid they are very sweet and harmless, we fed them throughout our stay and they always made us happy, if you can please do the same, in Crete there is no real concept of pets and even less of stray dogs abandoned to themselves, a small gesture can make a difference, thank you very much.

We can’t say enough good things about the place. We are avid Airbnb users, and this has been one of the best. The view is spectacular and the photos of the rooms and property are identical to what you get. George is an extremely gracious host. His recommendations about tours and restaurants and places to grocery shop were extremely helpful. This was a milestone anniversary trip for us and we could not have had a better time.

My husband and I spent a lovely week at Asteri Home. The house was exactly as expected and just what we wanted for our week in Crete. The kitchen was well-equipped and allowed us to make breakfasts and a some dinners at home. The main double bedroom was big enough and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit dark and the shower is quite small, but we made do. The most amazing part of the house is the huge garden overlooking the sea that has 4 sun loungers, 2 outdoor tables for dining, a BBQ and a dart board. We spent a lot of time sitting at the end of the garden enjoying the view. Véronique and Yiannis are amazing hosts. They were so helpful right from the start - arranging transport from the airport, a rental car, offering suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Kokkini Hani is quieter than other more touristy parts of Crete we visited. We found wonderful Greek restaurants with fresh seafood everyday. The supermarket and shops are all in walking distance. A lovely place!

We had a wonderful time and Yannis was very nice and cooperative. we highly recommend his place.

Our family had a wonderful time here. The room was perfect and spacious for our family and everything we needed. The little play set outside entertained the kids a lot and is steps from the beach and excellent restaurants. We had a wonderful time!

We stayed here for 8 days with our son and his wife and our granddaughter. It was absolutely perfect for us, we spent several days in Heraklion and then toured the neighbouring regions of the island in our rented car. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with a large and well-stocked kitchen which allowed us to cook some meals together. We were especially grateful for Eirini's offers of assistance and suggestions for activities such as the Oxi day celebrations on October 28. We would have missed it if she hadn't alerted us to the parade. All in all a perfect holiday, would gladly stay there again.

Leaving Emmanouil’s lovely Airbnb in Crete was very sad. The view is unbelievable and the place is very spacious. Easy access to the city center, the ferry station, and the airport. Emmanouil is a wonderful host and was gracious enough to provide some wonderful recommendations. I can’t wait to come back.

Friendly communication with Frank. He was quick to respond and with "issues" it was quickly resolved. The house is beautiful and met all expectations. The only downside we have experienced is the barking of the dogs nearby, mainly at night this was sometimes disturbing.

This house is gorgeous and exactly as shown in photos and described in the listing. Everything was spotless when we arrived, bedrooms were very comfortable, and the place had effective AC and plenty of amenities to cook. The pool area was especially nice, with loads of different outdoor seating and sunbeds! What I would especially like to mention is how wonderful the host was. He was not only incredibly friendly and provided extensive good local recommendations for the area; but went beyond what we could have expected from an airbnb host during our stay. I would definitely rebook and recommend this listing.

We loved our stay at this comfortable, immaculate property with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Dimitris was extremely responsive and helpful, Popi who met us at checkin was friendly and welcoming, and Maria who came by to clean was sweet. The apartment is located in a great area as it is a small seaside community but still has a grocery store, restaurants, and pharmacy within walking distance. We rented a car and drove all over. I really enjoyed the time we spent outside on the patio listening to the waves crashing.

We had an extremely nice stay at the villa. The pool and the view are simply breathtaking. The rooms are very spacious and there is plenty of space to relax. Everything was very clean and we didn't miss anything. Thank you for everything Stavros. We'll be back!

Konstantinos is an outstanding host. He picked us up from the airport and personally escorted us to the villa. He was extremely responsive, quickly answering our questions and offering helpful recommendations for many services around, like massages at the villa (Creta Spa). Communication was seamless throughout. The villa is ideal for a group of 8 – spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The BBQ setup is also a great feature.

My family of 6 (with 4 small children) spent 7 days at Xara's location. It was fabulous. Xara and her husband were fantastic hosts with every bit of Greek hospitality (filoxenia) you can imagine. The location of the home is peaceful with a spectacular few of the Cretan countryside. Very accessible and minutes away from everyone you may need - gas station, a wonderful bakery (Fournistiri), village (Episkopi) offering fantastic food offerings, the airport, Heraklion, etc. Its all here. The hosts and home was also very kid friendly. The best part is that we got farm fresh eggs continuously throughout our stay and the children got to even feel some of the farm animals (chickens, goats, horses). Thank you Mihali and Xara. We had a fantastic time.

We read the reviews and immediately booked this gorgeous place. Full of history and modern amenities, it was the perfect launching spot for us to spend 3 days in Heraklion in total style and comfort. The views from every room and rooftop deck were stunning. To wake up with the blue water, harbor of boats and Venetian port was like being in a painting. Georgia was responsive and kind and generous. She shared the ancient history of her home with us—which made our stay even more magical. The piano and guitar were added bonuses that our musical family enjoyed playing! We highly recommend staying here—luxurious, historical, beautiful. We can’t say enough about how much we loved this place. Oh, and the outdoor garden patio at entrance was divine and the sky lights gave so much natural light. We also appreciated the washing machine and efficient and fast air conditioning. You won’t be disappointed if you book this place.
