With pay-over-time payment plans from Klarna, you can pay for a reservation over a number of weeks or months – giving you greater flexibility on how and when you want to pay.
If you’re eligible and have the ability to pay for your reservation in instalments over time, you can use Klarna as an alternative way to pay to give yourself more flexibility.
You’ll find the Klarna payment plan option available when you pay on the checkout page. Based on your location, you may be able to choose one of the following plans:

About Pay Monthly with Klarna in the US: Pay monthly financing available through Klarna, Inc. is issued by WebBank. It’s available to eligible US residents in most states. Rates (7.99–33.99% APR) are based on your credit. Missed payments are subject to late fees.
You can pay in 3 or 4 payments, depending on the availability and specific options for the country you’re based in. You’ll always be charged the first payment when your reservation is confirmed. For the remaining payments, you’ll be charged:
You can also pay monthly with a short-term loan.
Klarna accepts most major debit and credit cards such as Visa, Discover, Maestro and Mastercard, and may differ depending on the country where you’re based. You can also choose to pay with Apple Pay or your associated bank account.
For Klarna Pay monthly plans, guests can’t use a credit card to pay the reservation amount. Additionally, Klarna doesn’t allow prepaid cards to be used as a payment method.
You can apply a Airbnb coupon, credit or gift card to your reservation booking before setting up a Klarna payment plan. The coupon, credit or gift card will apply to the total amount of the reservation, and then the remaining amount will be displayed. If you’re eligible for a Klarna plan, the option will appear on the payment page.
If you cancel the reservation, the coupon can’t be used again. However, the amount you paid with an Airbnb credit or gift card can be used again, as long as it is still within the original expiry date.
Before you accept a Klarna payment plan, you can find the following info in the Klarna pop-up:
Once you accept a Klarna payment plan and are approved by Klarna, the booking will be confirmed and you’ll receive a receipt and booking confirmation notification from Airbnb. You’ll also get a receipt from Klarna via email.
You can check and manage your payment plan in your Klarna account.
Declining a Klarna payment plan doesn’t affect your trip planning – you can still select one of the available payment options from Airbnb.
If you don’t have the option to use Klarna when booking, it may mean Klarna isn’t an option available for your trip or Klarna isn’t available in your country.
Key factors in determining payment plan availability are reservation value and how close the check-in date is to when you’re booking. Klarna isn’t available to pay for reservations that are monthly stays (reservations that are 28 nights or longer) or Airbnb Experiences.
