How to pay with PayPal

If PayPal is available for your currency, you’ll see it as an option at checkout.

Paying with PayPal

Once you select PayPal as your payment method, a new browser window will pop up and you’ll be taken to the login screen on the PayPal site:

  1. Select PayPal at checkout, if available
  2. A PayPal login screen will open in a new window
  3. Log in to your PayPal account
  4. Choose your payment method (e.g. credit card or bank account)
  5. Click Continue, review PayPal’s policies and click Agree & Continue
  6. You’ll return to Airbnb’s checkout page to confirm and complete your payment

Your PayPal will be charged once your reservation is confirmed

Once the payment for the full amount of the reservation is authorised by PayPal, your reservation request will be sent (or your Instant Book reservation will be confirmed). You’ll only be charged once your reservation is confirmed. If your reservation request is declined, cancelled or expires, your PayPal authorisation will be voided and you won’t be charged.

    Linking a backup payment method

You may need to link a bank account or credit card to your PayPal account to complete your Airbnb reservation. PayPal will use this backup if your primary method fails. Check out the PayPal website for more information about selecting a preferred payment method.

Paying with a bank account via PayPal

You can transfer money securely from your bank account to Airbnb using PayPal Instant Transfer. Once set up, select your bank account as your payment source during checkout when prompted to ‘Choose a way to pay’. Visit PayPal’s website for more details about linking a bank account.
