Family-friendly holiday rentals in Hardanger

Two colleagues used the place for collaborative work on a writing project and had a great stay.

What a lovely stay! The farm is so peaceful. We went with friends and our 13 month old daughter who loved seeing the sheep, and running around the yard. The place was fantastic for kids (high chair, crib, toys). We had the best time walking around the property, cooking delicious food, going in the hot tub and we even took the boat out for a special trip! There’s a sauna 10 minutes down the road which was a treat. Easy 1 hour drive from Bergen. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The place is idyllic and perfect for two families who want to relax and enjoy nature. We used both boats and kayaks, and the kids were thrilled to see crabs - extra nice that the host took the time to show them. The evenings were spent around the fire and in the jacuzzi – a perfect end to fine days. Everything was clean, well organized and incredibly cozy. Highly recommended for all who love nature and tranquility. We will definitely come back – thank you very much!

Maria and Jarle were fantastic hosts! The Cottage by the Fjord is a charming and cozy spot that felt like home. We loved the cider walk and local hikes and maybe most of all, just hanging out on the water and in the backyard. On top of it, Jarle and Maria were quick to respond and assist. Thank you, Jarle, for telling us the history of your family home. So special! Fantastic and idyllic stay!

I had a wonderful stay at Jarle's home. The location is absolutely fantastic, nestled in a peaceful spot with breathtaking views of the fjords and surrounding mountains. It truly felt like an escape into nature. Getting there was a breeze thanks to the detailed instructions provided by the host, which made the whole experience stress-free from the start. The house itself was cozy and very well equipped – everything we needed was right there, making it feel like a true home away from home. Jarle was exceptionally kind and attentive, always just a message away if I had a question. It is clear he and his wife genuinely care about their guests' comfort and experience. That said, the place does have a lived-in feel, so if you're looking for a more impersonal or hotel-like stay, this might not be the perfect fit. But if you appreciate character, comfort, and a sense of being welcomed into someone’s home, you’ll love it here. Overall, a truly memorable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended!

Cabin was clean, was surprised to have to pay extra for sheets - only that my daughter noticed it on the listing a few days before otherwise we would have arrived and there would have been none. area is quiet, apart from the hotel that really only opens on the weekend in June (limited set menu Mon-Fri) there are no other restaurants so you have to cook yourself. Cleaning fee is a bit steep considering the amount of cleaning that is expected by the host - very long ist of jobs - essentially leave it exactly as you found it so at a loss as to what the actual fee covers! apart from those small issues the place was beautifiu and Bjarne responded quickly when contacted.

We were very satisfied with the accommodation and with the communication with Siv who was always very responsive and kind! The view from the house is breathtaking, the accommodation is easily accessible even without a car. We highly recommend this listing!!!

On a good summer day, you will have to search for a more idyllic place!

We loved our stay here - we booked for two days and would have happily stayed for a week. The farm is beautiful, Helin is quiet and stunning and full of friendly farm animals, and Eli and her family made us feel at home leaving out toys for our little one and letting us play with their pigs. We’ll be back ❤️

This is the second time we have stayed with Eldbjørg, and it is always just as pleasant. Nice and quiet place, with fantastic views. Clean, good beds and good communication both before and during the stay. Thanks for us!

we found villa tippetue easily, very nicely located with a view of the Sognefjord. we did indeed have to go through a piece of forest of about 70m first. unfortunately not much luck with the weather, we did see a little sun every day. the cottage has a very nice terrace with a view of the fjord and a cozy living room. there were maps available for walks in the area, also detailed laminated maps. unfortunately the very local part was not present, probably accidentally taken by a previous visitor. We downloaded the Norwegian maps app Norgeskart. The stupet naveset tronvik walk - on the flank there - is also well marked. There is a ladder and a section where ropes assist the descent (our dog could easily find his own way around). The ground was still quite wet and sometimes slippery (early June) in hoyanger also nice walking. To flam it is a good 3h drive. Recommended!

We loved the opportunity to stay in an authentic Norwegian cabin that was at least 250 years old. From outside it looks like a modest cabin but opens to a spacious and warm living room and dining area. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and there is a good shower. The two upstairs bedrooms, one opens to the kitchen, had great views of the mountains and very comfortable beds. Great venue to visit Flam, Borgund and Urnes Stave churches or to hike. The farmers market at Laerdal was excellent.

We were four ladies who lived in Anne Marie's barn for a week while we were on a course at Rauland Academy. The Academy is just a short walk from the barn, it is a short walk to the shops, the house was super cozy and the host responded quickly to our questions. I highly recommend a stay in the barn.

Marta’s apartment was great for a couple of nights in Voss. The space was comfy and bigger than expected and we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. We would happily stay here again!

An incredibly charming place where we found tranquility with beautiful nature and great surroundings. Lots of handsome things for both big and small. Highly recommended, we will be happy to come again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Especially the swimming pool had done it to our children. It was little visited during the time we were there.

Beautiful house and garden. We stayed with our one year old son. He loved the pool, trampoline, raspberries… The house is well equipped and everything works very well. There are some animals (cows, pigs, ostriches, llamas, etc.), nearby on the track towards panorama hotel, which is also fun. We had a great time :)

Great apartment and perfect place for people with small children!

We very much liked this apartment we shared with 2 families and a dog. Each family had it's own floor with 2 separate bedrooms and bathroom with the middle floor used as living/dining and kitchen with a small outside patio. The swimming pool next to the reception is a nice addition when you have kids. Furthermore, the indoor parking garages with free spaces connected to the second entrance of your apartment is nice, as well as the charging facility for your electric car (not free). Geilo is nice in summer, but this spot must be great during the winter season located next to the slopes and ski elevators.

The stay at Ina's was pleasant. She is easy to reach and was very friendly. The location of the apartment was great, and you can go on beautiful hikes!

This is an amazing holiday home in a fantastic location in Hardangerfjord. The house is big with many bedrooms and excellent facilities with everything you could possibly need during your stay. The view from the house is breathtaking, the hot tub great and allt the boats and paddleboards make your days full of fun and exciting adventures. The area is great for action or/and relaxing just as you want. Kjetil is a excellent host, easy to comunicate with and very helpful. I highly recomend this property and I hope that I will have the opportunity revisit it soon.

We stayed on the forum set with 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Very nice houses with pool, which is great for the kids, especially in bad weather. Fishing is also good there. You can feed mackerel from the jetty and of course also catch. At the end of August, the whole harbor was full. If you want bigger fish, you can fish well in front of the island of Ombo between 50 and 100 meters. Was only 2x short there but could catch large pollack, haddocks, many larger ling, several wingbutt and a 90's cod and a hake with natural bait. A total of about 15KG fillet in 7 hours. However, fishing there is not easy and many did not get along with the current/drift. The boats of the complex are also good. We only found one directly in the village, otherwise you have to drive something. By boat you can also make great excursions and also go shopping. Shopping/ big city are connected by Foreneset with longer trips
