Cottage holiday rentals in Hankasalmi

The villa is just as it is in the pictures and as described in the presentation text, i.e. really wonderful. Everything was really neat and the decor was so beautiful, the fresh flowers were wonderful, also the fresh fruit and chocolate was a happy surprise. The kitchen equipment was really good and there was a choice of beautiful dishes, I was able to make beautiful table settings. The beds were comfortable to sleep in and had beautiful sheets. We enjoyed a wonderful beach sauna and a warm hot tub. The dog was also taken into account and had food/drink cups and a small towel. All instructions were clear and Petra responded quickly. I will definitely come back here.

The place was suitable for a short visit for our group of 5. The apartment was clean and matched the description well.

This cabin was a perfect break from everyday life. The place is peaceful, with a beautiful lake view. The yard around the cabin is also really nice, cozy, private, and perfect for relaxing. The cabin was super clean, had everything I needed, and everything worked just fine. I slept really well and the smoke sauna and hot tub were a great way to relax in the evenings. Lari was friendly and easy to talk to. He welcomed me personally, showed how things work, and gave helpful tips about the area. I planned to visit Mikkeli, but ended up enjoying the cabin so much that I stayed put. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, quality, ease, and a touch of luxury.

The place was a bit tricky to find but a nice man pointed us to the right house. Likely, we weren't the first 😅 The instruction manual was only in Finnish which was a bit tricky. Otherwise the place was amazing, very well situated. It was a pitty that the sauna was outside but it wasn't a problem. Shame that the heater couldn't get the sauna reasonably hot to about 90°C. It could also use a thermometer. The hot tub didn't work during our stay but Salla was quick to resolve it with a refund. We were 2 couples there which wasn't ideal but 2 people with children will have a great stay there. There were enough means to get yourself warm - sauna, floor heating, fireplace and AC. The place has no WiFi. The terrace has quite a drop to the ground - no issue for us because we created stairs from snow but during summer it must be a big drop.

Super cozy mökki in a calm and gorgeous place, perfect for Juhannus! The lake was great for swimming, the wood sauna was super nice, and even though you feel like you are in the middle of the woods, the grocery store is super close by. Seija is super nice and the communication went well. Me and my friends (7 people and a dog) had an amazing time so I would definitely recommend this place!

We had a nice weekend at the cottage! A very quiet place and there was no problem with the mosquitoes. The beach barbecue shelter is very atmospheric. Good score for sauna and beach terrace! Bright water lake and beach very shallow and slowly deepening. Communication was smooth with the host.

During the week, very peaceful, the cottages nearby for the weekend became lively. A clean-water lake that attracted a swim every day. The cottage had all the necessary amenities and a great setting for remote work. Despite the amenities, the summer cottage vibe was great. A great setting for being relaxed while following nature. Mushrooms were found around the corner for meals and berries to follow. In the yard there were the cape frog babies jumping, a family of frogs on the lake, and not only the little birds, but also a firehead family and a grove owl! The swan family also showed up. Close to nature, comfortable summer cottage environment. Highly recommend for those who appreciate peace and nature.

A cabin in a quiet lakeside location. The house has absolutely everything you need for life. There is a sauna near the house. There is a boat and you can fish. The nearest town and supermarkets are a 12-minute drive away. At first the host didn't respond to messages and we were a little worried. But in 24 hours, she sent check-in instructions. The instructions are a little unclear and lacks the coordinates of the house. Maybe if she was in English it would be better because the translation from Finnish is not perfect. If you are coming from the south, the gps takes you to a dead end to a closed barrier. It can be opened, or you can drive in from the turn that is to the north. Please note, the listing says that cleaning is not included in the price, but the cost is not included. It turned out that you need to pay extra for cleaning another 120 euros!!! We left the house in perfect condition, not clear why such a high price. Overall, I liked everything.

Wonderful vacation home. Really great location overlooking the lake. The lake is deep and clean - ideal for swimming and boating. Original Finnish mökki experience, far away from everything in nature.

The cottage is one of the best airbnb experiencies we had! Amazing view! Especially the sunsets. We loved the wooden sauna and the lake! Plenty of mushrooms in the woods nearby! Very private property. Communication was excelent.

A very well appointed, 2 BR cabin with a full size fridge and an induction oven. A number of fans were supplied to help keep things cool during the summer heat. The WiFi was great, and we were easily able to catch some of the Paris 2024 Olympics on the TV. We loved the traditional Finnish sauna - heated by wood with the ability to actually throw water on hot rocks (not the case with many hotel saunas). There is a great fire pit which we used to roast "makarra". The latter 2 points reminded me very much of growing up with Finnish parents in Ontario, Canada. A great supply of firewood, too. Some may be taken aback by the indoor, non-flushing toilet and the outhouse, but it is a cabin after all, and not a hotel. (Maybe the host has plans to add a swimming hole on the property one day, who knows!) There is a great "uimranta" (swimming beach) a short drive away. The only minor quibble is the proximity of the railway, which may pose a problem for light sleepers. We'd go back!

Great villa in a quiet location. Tidy space, private beach where you could swim. We'll definitely be back.

The host exemplary took care of their guests. The level of equipment in the house was high and the facilities were of high quality. The host couple was very approachable and comfortable.

We had a great stay in the little cabin on the lake. It is really quiet, no direct neighbors. Communication was straightforward, kind, and helpful. The cottage is well equipped, we lacked nothing. What you might want to know is that the stairs to the sleeping area are really steep. All in all, you can spend a time here.

The cottage and its surroundings were just what was promised. Warm recommendation

A great cottage weekend in a great setting! The cottage is well equipped. The location is great! The lake is really beautiful in the rain, in the sun and in the evenings. We saw two beautiful sunsets. Arja responded quickly to the messages and with her help we found, for example, a muurikka pan. We went rowing on the lake and explored the nearby nature. The only downside of the weekend was that it was too short. We would have been very comfortable in the cottage for many more days. We could well return to the cottage, for example, during the autumn.
