Peace on the water (at the end of the world) The accommodation was only found after a telephone inquiry, although there are only a few buildings in the village. This is VERY secluded, if you want to stay longer, you should shop well. There were only two cafes and one (closed) restaurant there. The nearest store is about a 1/2 hour drive away. However, it would also be possible to arrive by train. However, it is fantastically beautiful, right on the river, and the traffic of ships, trains and cars can almost be counted. I particularly liked the surroundings with the many flowers, the access to the water and the many seating and lounging options outdoors, both in the shade and in the sun. If you want to take a boat trip, you don't have to go away, the host also does such. You can also rent boats from him, and he gave us tips for fishing. If you like mountain views and trails this is the place for you. I believe it is the highest elevation in Portugal…6000 feet. Beautiful lookout points upon arrival. Very private and quiet for a relaxing stay. Free parking on site. It’s small village but only 15 minutes to the next closest town for more shopping and restaurants. Gabriel was very accommodating and responsive to your needs. Great place at a great price. Highly recommend.

It is the best location to enjoy Estrella. I was worried because it was on the first floor, but there was a privacy protection film on the window, and there were hardly any people passing by in the first place, so it wasn't uncomfortable at all. The Carolina management was kind and came to resolve any inconvenience immediately. The bedding and kitchen utensils were also impeccably clean and nice.

The place was very nice and we all liked it. It was clean, everything worked, and the windows and balconies offered great views. A comfortable stay -- thank you.

Super sweet and highly helpful and concerned host

everything was perfect. we were afraid following the reactions of travelers regarding the bells and finally we did not pay much attention to them, even at night. The accommodation was very good for 2 or 3 if there is a young child. Very good restaurant in Tabuaço and the beautiful Douro Valley. Hikes from the village. We recommend.

We had an excellent two night stay in the beautiful house. There was plenty of room for our kids to run around and they greatly enjoyed the pool. The host is very responsive, have lots of local recommendations and even provided breakfast in the morning! If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay not far from surrounding towns then this is it.

This is a great place if you are looking for beautiful views, convenient parking, peaceful/ no city noise, relaxing pool, and wonderful hosts. Instructions were very clear and there was a sweet welcoming surprise for us from the host upon entering the unit. The balcony setting is just gorgeous - great way to start and/or end your day. It’s exactly like the pictures, if not even more lovely in person. The host was very responsive and proactively communicated with us about the specifics of the place. I highly, highly recommend a stay here. I know we will be back!

Absolutely fabulous place in a fantastic tranquil location. We love running and it was a fantastic place to run see the little villages and countryside. The house was fabulous and well equipped. Swimming was a real treat for the kids. Helena and her husband were brilliant hosts so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you for having us and making us feel so welcome

The house is great. Very spacious and comfortable. It has all the conditions to accommodate up to 6 people. Immaculate cleaning. Communication with the owner was always easy and quick. Check in is very easy.
