“A lovely peaceful, quite and tranquil stay. A lovely setting in the mountains. The cabin in kept meticulous and just the perfect size. Pity we couldn’t stay another night. Great facilities and wonderful hosts thank you Audrey and Les for a wonderful stay. Keep up the great work. Would highly recommend a stay here.”
Glengarriff Lodge, or what used to be Lord Bantry's Cottage, is a luxury self-catering space hidden away on a secluded, leafy island surrounded by 50-acres of ancient oak woodlands in Glengarriff, West Cork. The estate was the location of a former hunting lodge for the Earls of Bantry and offers guests a rare glimpse of a truly magical part of old Ireland, in an absolutely gorgeous and pristine setting with privacy and comfort.
“Glengarriff Lodge is an amazing experience....the grounds & cottage are in such a unique place, it’s truly a surreal setting. We used this as a base to do a lot of stuff in the south of Ireland & it’s well positioned to get to Killarney, Kerry, etc... In retrospect, I would have spent more time in the Glengarriff Village & surrounding areas vs. wasting time on the much hyped (and overrated) Ring of Kerry. Take time to walk the grounds & explore the connecting nature trails that are part of the surrounding Nature Reserve. We saw a Red deer right behind the lodge one morning, in the apple orchard!”
Bright, comfortable, modern 3-bed house; ideally located in Glengarriff village. Peaceful and secluded surroundings with access to Fisherman's path alongside beautiful Glengarriff river, leading to the Blue Pool, playground and a maze of coastal and woodland paths. 2 mins walk to Glengarriff's shop, post office, pubs and restaurants. Hosts are available to provide advice and any local information required to help you explore this fabulously scenic location.
“Nice, modern house with balcony next to the river in Glengarriff village. Ideal for access to the amenities in the area (Blue Pool, Ferry to Garnish Island, Woods etc) and also to the village shop, restaurants and pubs. Eva the host was very helpful. She arranged a travel cot for us and provided us with local knowledge about the tourist attractions. The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived, with extra towels and linen provided. We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely recommend both Glengarriff as a destination and this house as a place to stay.”
