Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Gentilly, New Orleans

Kurt was a lovely host from the start. He was super accommodating with my questions in advance re: baby gear at the house and timing on our last minute reservation. The house is absolutely gorgeous, too. It's spacious, well decorated, and felt more like a home than an Airbnb. It was nice and quiet, and we always felt safe in the neighborhood. If you're traveling with a baby, this place is perfect! The pack and play and two "high chair" options (one Bumbo-esque tabletop option and another larger tabletop one) were great to have, as was the little xylophone in addition to the small toys we brought with us :) The sink is perfect baby bathing size, as well!

Love the okra Inn such a beautiful historical home. Way more room than expected and super cozy for the family. Would return for next trip.

No complaints, we didn’t spend a lot of time there because we were off exploring but the backyard is perfect for your pets, they have laundry and fully stocked kitchen. AC was clutch. Very comfortable and cozy home. Would def stay again and highly recommend. Thank you Danny B

We had a great stay here for the jazz festival. Within walking distance of the fairgrounds and great little coffee shops near by. Location was great for our stay. The air bnb itself looked exactly like the pictures and had everything we needed. Water pressure wasn’t the best but doable for all the other great features. Truly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend!

Extremely satisfied and happy with the property. I have stayed at some AirBnB's where the place looks like the pictures, but they definitely took the pictures from the best angles. Eric's place was actually better than the pictures! Very spacious, well decorated and so comfortable. I've stayed at a couple of shotgun homes in NOLA and they feel cramped. This house looks like a shotgun (with 2 sides), but it has been remodeled into one home so a lot of space, wonderful kitchen and a great deck. Very convenient to a number of places in NOLA. If you want to experience authentic New Orleans vibes in a 100+ year old shotgun, this is the place. The location is near plenty of bars and restaurants without being in the middle of the quarter. The owner was fantastic, and you can tell he put some love into this house. We got in late and had a minor issue, thinking he might respond the following day. Not only did he respond immediately, he fixed it within 15 minutes. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house was just what our family needed for our trip to NOLA. The location is perfect. It took us about 15 minutes to get to wherever we wanted to go. There are plenty of restaurants and markets close by and within walking distance. The neighborhood was friendly and felt very safe. The house was just as described and was a nice place to come back to after a long day exploring. The hosts supplied so many things that are often forgotten by travelers. The pool was a welcome respite after a long hot day. The house provides plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. NOLA definitely has its own vibe and this house allowed us to feel like the locals during our stay. Thanks for sharing.

An Amazingly Charming Stay in the Heart of New Orleans! This home perfectly captures the spirit of New Orleans. The exterior has that classic, historic charm I dream about when I think of the city, and the interior beautifully balances vintage character with modern comforts—those beds were incredibly comfortable! The original hardwood floors and thoughtful furnishings made it feel both cozy and stylish. Just a heads-up: this is a true New Orleans shotgun house, so the rooms flow one into the next with no hallways. It’s also a duplex with shared walls, so sound can carry—something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper. That said, the charm and location more than made up for it. We felt completely safe walking to and from the French Quarter (just a 15-minute walk), even late at night. The hosts were responsive, kind, and made everything easy. I would absolutely stay here again—highly recommend!

he made sure everything was up to what we paid for and that we were all happy.He answered all calls and text if anything happened and fixed things right away with no questions asked.Everything was clean and well taken care of the pool was a nice plus to have in the heat it was very clean.He was friendly with us like he knew us and treated us like a friend. Had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, and the pool was a highlight of our trip. It’s not very big, but it was the perfect place to hangout on a hot New Orleans day.

We enjoyed our brief stay at Nick's place in NOLA. For a family of 6, we were within walking distance to a park, and quick driving (or a longer walk) to downtown and everything we needed. We'll be staying here again for our next stay in the city.

By far one of the best stays. Not only is the host communicative and friendly but Ben’s home is uniquely decorated and comfortable. It fits perfectly with the NOLA culture and was also extremely close to the French quarter and close enough to the airport. The shower was great and I enjoyed spending time in the backyard. My family felt right at home. I definitely recommend booking!

Carport very small. Very tight space. But there is free parking on the streets. I just wasn't comfortable with leaving the rental on the side of the street. So i made it work with the carport. The check in process was a little frustrating. Keys weren't where they suppose to have been. Of course, i was a little upset because of the nice drive and couldn't get there to relax. Took a while to contact host while communicating with airbnb customer service. But customer service was willing to accommodate while we waited. I regret there wasn't a washer and dryer. I think its best to always wash your towels and linens when you go to an airbnb. Whether they are folded up or not. I loved the comfortable living room and the kitchen set up wasn't bad. Not the best overall, but worth the price i paid. Beds were very comfortable and both rooms had plenty of closet space.

Caitlin’s place was perfect for our family while in town for a wedding. It was quiet and very clean. The location is in what seemed like a very safe neighborhood and is extremely close to some great restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay here again!

Kiley and her family were great. The place was beautiful and you felt right and home. Central location and I was working downtown at the federal courthouse and was a breeze getting there and back. Kiley also helped me find a place for the next week stay because she was booked and I would stay at her place again and would highly recommend her place to anyone that needs a place to stay and again her and her family were AWESOME!!

Lady's place was amazing. Very clean and beautiful. We felt right at home. Had plenty of room for the 4 of us. You provide your own code to access the residence. She reached out to me, prior to getting to the house, so I even felt the "Southern Hospitality" prior to reaching the residence, even getting into Louisiana. The neighbors were so nice and friendly. We were here for a quick getaway to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday and surprised her with this weekend getaway and Lady's place was in a perfect location to everything. We went to the Jazz festival, took in all the sites, ate all that New Orleans had to offer, and even enjoyed a recommendation offered when I made the reservation (so again "Thank You"). I already know my older sister and none of us will never forget this trip, and have made memories that we'll forever and always cherish.

I’ve read a lot of these reviews and it feels like people are often sleuthing for some tiny flaw to cry about. But me, I was so happy with my stay. Zero complaints. Gorgeous shotgun apt (huge btw- far more space than I needed!), great yard to sit and drink coffee in, tons of amenities (the bikes are a great touch though I didn’t use them- would totally have done so with more time in the city). Walked to the levee with my pup, went to the Joint, hung out at Bud Rips. Perfect Bywater day. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

This is a great little hidden gem! We loved the layout of the house and how it offers privacy for each bedroom. Furnished nicely and very cozy! Christina is a great host! Will likely rent from her again for our next visit! A+!

Absolutely 5 stars! Dwayne was incredibly responsive and made communication easy from start to finish. The accommodations were spotless and well-maintained, and everything felt fresh and thoughtfully prepared. What really stood out was that it truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Wonderful comfortable place. The kitchen was super to cook in. The porch is great and there is a fabulous grocery store and several great restaurants and bars nearby. There is a party place (private club?) next door so may want earplugs if that would bother you. Didn’t bother us at all. You can take streetcars and buses from area. Beautiful City Park close by for exploration
