Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Garðabær

We have stayed in many beautiful Airbnb's of all kinds in different locations around the world. Sigrun's house by the sea was the most incredible of all of them. The uniqueness of the location, the breathtaking scenery, the horses and seals, the beautiful cottage, the privacy...it is just an amazing, magical place. We will forever cherish our memories and hope to visit again when we return to Iceland.

The apartment was very clean and cozy and in my opinion the location is very achievable in and out if you have a car and plan to take day trips in basically any direction. Kitchen i.e. had everything(and more) you need for cooking. Comfy sofa for relaxing after a long day out. Groceryshop is like 150m away and has a good selection of items including own section for vegan stuff. We had absolutely no issues during our residence here and would definately pick this one again in the future. Highly recommended

My family and I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb. The location was perfect—close enough to downtown, but still in a quiet, peaceful area. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything I needed to feel comfortable. We also loved the thoughtful touches throughout the house, from cozy blankets to the coffee pots. This place made our trip even more memorable.

Unnur è stata molto amichevole nei nostri confronti. Quando siamo arrivati era all’ingresso della sua abitazione con il marito, abbiamo scambiato quattro chiacchiere, il che ci ha fatto molto piacere. L’appartamento corrispondeva alle foto, era pulito e situato in un bel quartiere tranquillo. Unnur ci ha fatto trovare anche del buon caffè…apprezzatissimo!

Nice house in in good area, a lot of space and light. Many games and toys for kids! 10 min by walk to the bus terminal.

Comfortable bed, good shower, nice patio if the weather had permitted. Good location for visiting the Golden Circle and South Coast. Grocery store very close.

Our stay at this luxury cabin in Iceland was beyond incredible. Set on a stunning lake, the views were breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. The cabin was spotless, beautifully designed, and perfectly cozy—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. It felt peaceful, private, and luxurious all at once. We’re already dreaming about coming back in winter to watch the Northern Lights dance across the lake. Truly unforgettable!

Sigrun’s apartment is on the outskirts of city centre and the perfect base to travel and see the sights of Iceland. Apartment is new, modern, clean and spacious. Whilst there is construction still continuing on site, it’s not disruptive and view from apartment is stunning. Very quiet and peaceful area. Lots of useful items provided and little touches left throughout the apartment which was much appreciated. Supermarket 20 mins walk and cinema/bowling complex nearby too. Sigrún was a great communicator and made the check-in very easy. Highly recommend. Thanks again Sigrun! 😁

Para mí fue de los mejores lugares en los que me hospedé alguna vez! La ubicación no fue la mejores lugar para mí ya que estaba sin auto y estaba entre 2 y 4 kilómetros de distancia de los puntos a los que tenía que ir para las actividades o del centro de la ciudad. No hay mucho en esa zona. Frente al departamento hay un local de hamburguesas y eso es todo lo que vi. De todas maneras para mí la casa es hermosa y me sentí súper acompañada por Satsu, la gatita. Dormía la siesta conmigo y pasábamos las tardes y noches juntas! Ya la extraño 😭😭. La cama es súper cómoda, el sillón para dormir una siesta ahí también. La televisión es genial y tiene Netflix, youtube, etc 🙏. La verdad me sentí más cómoda que en mi propia casa 😂😂. Si alguna vez vuelvo, no dudaré en intentar hospedarme allí. Y si piensan en hospedarse ahí, cuiden a Satsu y trátenla con amor que es demasiado buena 💗

Hoewel in de stad heb je uitzicht op baai en Reykjavik met groot terras, toen wij er waren was deze nog in aanbouw. Het ligt in rustige wijk. Inrichting appartement is nieuw en comfortabel, fijn bed en goede douche. Het wordt duidelijk ook door eigenaar bewoond. Internationale luchthaven op minder dan 40 minuten, ideaal als laatste lokatie.

Marget’s place was exactly as described in the listing and photos. The space was clean and organized upon my arrival, checking in was super easy! Right across the street there’s a grocery store which was extremely convenient and just a short drive to Reykjavík! I enjoyed my stay and hope to be back again in the future!

Die Wohnung war sehr schön, mit allem eingerichtet, was man so braucht. Das Zentrum von Reykjavik ist in wenigen Minuten mit dem Auto oder mit dem Bus erreichbar. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in direkter Nachbarschaft. Man sieht von der Wohnung aus direkt die Berge um Reykjavik und wir haben auch an einem Abend die Nordlichter von der Terrasse aus genossen. Wir haben uns sehr sehr wohlgefühlt und Eggert war immer hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Bei unserer Ankunft haben wir frisches Toastbrot, Käse und Getränke von Eggert im Kühlschrank vorgefunden, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Die Unterkunft ist also unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen, und wir kommen gerne wieder.

10/10. Maria and her family were wonderful hosts. From letting my children play with their pets to allowing us flexible check in and out due to our flight times, this listing is an absolute gem. Great water (drinking and bathing), beautiful yard, killer views. We saw the northern lights right from our windows multiple nights. I wish we could have stayed forever!

Incredible apartment that far exceeded anything we could have expected. Awesome kitchen with main living space and bathroom that look out onto the ocean. Hot tub and amazing shower…I could go on and on. Don’t miss out this place is a MUST STAY location. Will definitely be back next time we visit!

Welcoming and cosy place, as soon as we arrived we found everything very clean and tidy, kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare something to eat, very clean bathroom, room equipped with Smart TV and vacuum cleaner. The owner of the house is always available for any eventuality. If I were to return to Iceland I would gladly book another stay with him.

Love the place. Cozy apartment with great space. Easy check in and multiple options for parking. Really surprise by the quick response from Elias. Usually travel with my family a couple times a year staying always in Airbnbs and this is the first I stayed with a portfolio with recommendations from Elias of places to go: explore, eating, instructions of the apartment and education of every place to visit in the area. Wanna congrats Elias for the amazing extra job. Definitely my recommendation for friends and family for the future.

The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the little harbor nearby. It provided my son and I with a base to explore many of Iceland's attractions using our car rental. Getting into the city takes about 12 minutes by car and around 45 minute by bus. We opted to cook at home since there's not a lot of restaurants nearby. Generally speaking this was a fantastic place to stay and made our whole week in Iceland stress free and relaxing. The apartment also has great water pressure and lots of warm water!

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein Traum, schick und modern eingerichtet, alles was man braucht ist da. Es war sauber und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Die Aussicht ist natürlich ein Highlight, welches wir jeden Morgen beim Frühstücken genossen haben. Wir würden wieder kommen :)

Great place for a sleep near the airport. We arrived at 2 am and there was no issue. Easy check-in instructions. We appreciated the coffee supplies! They do have an impressive dvd collection and we were going to try it but the blue ray player wasn’t hooked up. No problem though they had excellent wifi and Apple TV. Pleasant easy place to rest our heads. Also appreciated how they had guide books and info on Iceland. We would have loved to try the nearby pool but didn’t have the chance.

The Airbnb was easily accessible and well equipped with washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen. There was also a designated parking spot for your vehicle. Magnus was responsive and extremely helpful in answering any queries. Would recommend this place

Very convenient location and has all the amenities we need!

Kjartan was very accomodating to us and we enjoyed our stay in this appartment. The kitchen and other rooms had all the facilities we could have needed - this extended to more niche things such as a can opener which you don't always find in a flat! We were greeted nicely and the stay was uncomplicated. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet, as well as having everything in walkable distance. It is also close to a bus stop. The flat is surprisingly warm on the inside.
