Bed and breakfast holiday rentals in Gangtok

The Shire is an absolutely beautiful place to stay - the house and gardens are immaculate and Karma and his family are so welcoming! They really make you feel at home. There is a great view over Gangtok - the house is peaceful yet still very close by to the main centre of Gangtok. The freshly prepared local food that Karma's family cook in the restaurant was so tasty - my favourite food from my whole time in India! Spending some quality time with the family dog (outdoors) was also great, since I'd been very homesick from my own - he was very friendly and a delight to play with :) If you are travelling to Sikkim and don't hold an Indian passport please be aware that you need a special permit to cross the border - I was unaware of this and we were kept at the Border for a substantial time on the way there whilst this was sorted out - take plenty copies of your passport and visa and also several spare passport photos and you'll be able to obtain a permit to cross the border (extra permits also needed for visiting places further North in Sikkim). Also note that from here, the Himalayas can only be viewed on a clear day and if you get up early around 5am! Thanks for everything Karma and good luck with the Orchids!

Ayush is a very good person and host, he made us feel at home and his family took care of us. He made sikkim trip easy for us by telling us the best places to visit and arranged a driver as well. Although since the place is on the main highway you might hear some noises of vehicles but if you're from cities it won't bother you that much anyways it gets quite after 8PM.

Raman’s place is a great place to stay overall. Walking distance to MG Marg and all happening places, beautiful cafe with tasty food and a cosy bookstore. There are multiple rooms with varying sizes. Our room was a bit on the smaller side, but was cosy. Room will be cleaned after couple days of stay.

It was one of our best decisions to stay with Karma and his family. His home is cozy and tastefully done with lots of greenary. He was very helpful in arranging things for us and made us feel right at home. Because we were travelling on the day of election, he ensured we reached his place safe and sound. It felt like we were visiting a friend's house. The property is also a 10 min walk from MG Marg. The food served here is organic and delicious. We had all our dinners and breakfast here. We absolutely enjoyed our conversations with Karma and our stay here. Thank you Karma for giving us such warm memories!

If you're someone who loves solitude but yet homely and loved, you'll love Michelle’s place. Located in a lovely and quiet surrounding, it was such a great retreat for us (we are from Delhi). People are extremely sweet and courteous especially the caretaker Ranjeet and the housekeeper. Would love to book the space again when traveling to Gangtok. Would also love to recommend the space to all near and dear ones, for sure.

the stay was very peaceful amd comfortable, the location is just 10 min walking distance from mg marg. Ranjeet was a really helpful and nice host, helped us with everything and even checking in at late night. overall a really good experience.

5/5 Stars We had an amazing stay in Gangtok, thanks to our incredible host karma and his family! They were super cooperative and helpful, arranging bikes and cabs for us to explore the beautiful city. The food they served was absolutely delicious - it truly felt like home away from home! hospitality and warmth made our stay unforgettable.

What more i need to say about michelle. She is a lovely lady and a responsive host. She called us n number of times knowing our whereabouts and make sure that we landed safely. Property is very beautiful and the breakfast served is toothsome. Highly recommend this stay and thanks michelle for your great hospitality

Despite the short stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the place. The rooms provided were clean, as were the blankets, bedsheets, towels, and all other items in the room, which was also well-decorated. As for the home itself, it is approximately 60 years old and holds significant traditional value. It features a prayer room, kitchen, library, terrace, discussion room, and many more amenities that make it ideal for a longer stay. We had a wonderful breakfast in the dining area. Mr. Jigmey was a kind and hospitable person. He welcomed us with a traditional khata and he also prepared and served us his special tea made with authentic Sikkimese ingredients — lovely gestures that we truly appreciated. In summary, his place is highly recommended, especially for long-term visitors.

Fantastic! Couldn't have asked for better place and host! This will be my go to place in Kalimpong from now onwards. Food is absolutely fantastic, very welcoming, very helpful and friendly.
