Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Franklin

Harmon Homestead was a comfortable 3-bedroom home, with a stream and small bay across the road. The home matched the description, located on a quiet dead-end walkable dirt road. The 4 beds were all very comfortable and extra towels and linens were plentiful. If you're a bird watcher, you'll enjoy seeing the many kinds of water birds and raptors outside the windows facing the stream. We spent most of our time in the dining room, which has a wooden table for meals and game-playing and has the best windows for viewing the birds. Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park is an easy 40-minute drive away. We ate out more often than we had planned, since we wanted to sight-see, but when we ate in, we found the kitchen had plenty of dishes, cookware, and cutlery. Blueberry Hill Ice Cream in Ellsworth is worth going into town for a cold after-dinner treat!

Great stay for our family of 5 adults and 3 toddlers! Lots to do and great proximity to Acadia/Bar Harbor. House was well supplied with clear instructions. Brady also connected with us before the stay and kept in touch for anything that came up as a concern. Thank you!

Sue is a great host, and we had a wonderful stay. The home is a perfect base from which to enjoy the surrounding area or just kick back on the deck and relax.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a very good stay for us. We had to double check how to get to the beach to make sure we weren't trespassing and Gregory responded in about 5 minutes with the green light. It's obviously an older home given the area so we weren't expecting brand new construction, and this was a perfect rustic get-away for us; would recommend for anyone looking to get away on a pleasant vacation

Lovely cabin right on the lake. Very homey vibe Everything you need to cook is in the kitchen. It was a chilly week, so we utilized the wood stove. Only 1 thing to note is that washer/dryer is listed but not on the premises. Overall, great stay.

We loved our stay! Everything was as described and we had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook several meals. The view is absolutely beautiful from all parts of the house and we loved the outdoor amenities. Lucy was very responsive and gave us some great recommendations! Would love to come back!

This place is stunning! It’s quiet, peaceful, and has a beautiful sunrise. The hosts did a fantastic job providing all the amenities you need for renting a house for a family vacation. It is remote, but I recommend The Franklin Trading post for anything you need and local eats. The pizza was delicious, and it’s only 5 minutes from the house.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. The location is very private and picturesque while still being close to everything that you need. We hiked 3 days in a Acadia and this Airbnb was lovely to relax and unwind at afterwards. The firepit by the beach was wonderful! Watching the sunset right behind the house was amazing! Short drive to bar harbor, short drive to Acadia. We found so much to fill our time with and the host gave excellent recommendations as well! Would definitely stay here again and hope to do so someday! Fully equipped kitchen, great dining room for “family meals”. Beds were comfy, plenty of towels and linens. Host was very responsive and got us what we needed extremely quickly when we ran out (paper towels and dish soap). Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!

The apartment was fantastic! It had everything we needed, and no clutter! Beautiful furnishings, modern, simple and comfortable. Surprised by the unexpected gorgeous view of the Narrows bridge at night - what a great seating alcove to enjoy it! Easily walkable to the waterfront and restaurants. We have come to depend on Warren's on the Waterfront and Bucksport House of Pizza over the past few years of visiting - this trip did not disappoint, the pizza and sandwiches are still top notch! We were here this time for our son's graduation from MMA, and although we rented a larger home for the younger guests and West Coast visitors, we chose this one for us, as a place to get away from the chaos of the larger home. It was simply perfect. Kudos to your housekeeping, the apartment was spotless and so welcoming - especially after a 13 hour drive from Maryland. Even though our son has graduated, we will be back. We just love the area. Thank You!!!

Kevin and Donna’s place was very clean and comfortable. It is just a short drive from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. Watching the geese and ducks in the beautiful backyard each morning was a bonus. Kevin and Donna are responsive and friendly.

Our stay at Pam’s place was absolutely fantastic! This is our second time staying at The Nest. The apartment was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, and had everything I needed, especially in the kitchen. We typically cook at least two meals a day and we had everything necessary. Pam was a wonderful host, very responsive and helpful throughout my stay. She stocked the fridge with eggs, butter, milk and half & half in addition to having cookies and muffins waiting for us on arrival. The location was perfect for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia, but was far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. We especially appreciated the cozy living space, comfortable bed, and fireplace to toast our toes. We love the mini farm aspect of The Nest. Seeing the chickens, goats, mini horses, ducks, and dogs as we come and go is definitely something we looked forward too. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing & unique stay away the hubbub but close enough to every

The experience left nothing to be desired as we were looking for a remote spot and a place comfortable and spacious enough to stay inside during bad weather and Jeff’s place checked the boxes. We were the only ones in the 2 unit home. The view is very pretty and the wildlife is plentiful. The access to the water is down a dirt embankment which leads to mud flats at low tide. Beware of the tides if you can get the kayaks down there.

Keith and Lisa went above and beyond with this unit. Out of the airbnbs I have stayed in this one was by far the best and the other reviews are not exaggerating. This place was supplied for anything you’d need from a baking sheet for a full pizza pie to bug spray for any outdoor needs. The list goes on; umbrellas, smores ingredients, disposable razors, slippers, cleaning supplies, and more. This place was stocked better than my own home. We felt super comfortable and the place was very clean, so clean that it all felt newly purchased. Keith was quick to respond to any questions we had and also provided extensive guides on local restaurants/activities in the Airbnb. When we come back we would 100% stay here again. The drive to Bar Harbor was about 30 minutes and the stay was well worth the money we saved compared to staying somewhere closer to the park.

This is a great place to stay, even better than it appears in the photos. It was not just clean, it was immaculate - and for an extremely observant nurse - that was awesome. The unit had easy access with a slight gradient path and only two steps - which was very helpful for us as seniors. The firm bed was very comfortable. Barbara was responsive and thought of everything, including having delicious specialty coffee for us - Thanks. She even had a cooler in the closet for us to use when we went to Acadia National Park. Like I said, she truly thought of everything. If we return to this area of Maine, we would love to stay again. We enjoyed our stay.

The place is very nice and private. Quiet neighborhood, yet close to the downtown area in Camden. Walking distance to the trail to Mt Battie. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Jason was very friendly and had clear instructions on how to use everything. We really enjoyed our stay.

So peaceful but off season. So not sure how it would be with lots of traffic and people. But the private deck and entrance was wonderful. The water view couldn’t have been more up close and personal with the beautiful harbor. The place was clean and cozy. Perfect lighting. Didn’t watch tv once. A convenient common room for extra supplies or a cup of coffee. Staff was very friendly when we were checking out. No front desk attendant and none needed. They answer messages quickly!
