Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Forest of Dean District

Debbie’s cottage was immaculate and so convenient for walks with our dogs along the Wye river and woodland. So close too, for the local Inns, which also allowed our dogs to be with us. Would highly recommend Debbie’s cottage .

We have just had the most incredible stay at Nichola’s place for my sister’s hen do. From the moment we arrived, she was warm and welcoming and met us to show us around. She also came to say bye at the end of our stay and asked how we got on which was lovely. The house itself is amazing and somehow exceeded our expectations- the photos look brilliant but in person it is stunning! Would definitely recommend!

What a beautiful place to stay for a few days in the Cotswolds. We loved every detail. It was nice to be in a quieter town rather than right in the middle of the touristy areas. The house was so stunning and a cute place to gather on holiday with my parents. The only thing to note is that the stairs are steep, so my elderly father had a little bit of a hard time getting up and down but it was no problem, just something to consider! Thanks so much, we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful property - like something out of grand designs! Lovely, peaceful spot in the middle of the countryside with a great local pub within walking distance.

We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend at The Woodlands. The view is sensational with beautiful walks on the doorstep. The house itself has all the amenities that you might need and is beautifully decorated and stocked with White Company products. It's a luxurious home away from home.

We had a great stay here at Christopher's place. The view was amazing and the place was situated well close to Bristol and Thornbury. Would definitely stay here again.

The Game Larders was perfect for us (a couple with a well-behaved dog). The house and grounds are genuinely spectacular. There is a wonderful sense of history around you, and it was interesting to see how such a property and land are being put to work in the form of a modern vineyard and wine label. Jamie was a great host. He recommended lots of interesting places to eat in the local area, and answered any questions we had. The proprty was comfortable (especially the huge super-king bed with quality bedding), and had a homely feel. Our dog enjoyed being able to chase a ball in the field opposite the house (we were lucky that the sheep weren't in the field while we were there). The house is situated in a quiet spot, 10-15 minutes away from Ross, and within easy reach of a huge range of interesting places to see. We only had two days so we didn't really scratch the surface. We will try to return soon, and when we do, we will certainly consider staying at the Game Larders once again.

The cottage is beautiful, its in a great place, near to local attractions, with lots of peaceful walks through the forest. Alison was communitive and quick to respond to queries. Highly recommend Alison and her gorgeous cottage.

We had a lovely long weekend with our 2 grandchildren. Lots of family friendly activities close to hand. A good selection of evening venues to enjoy too.

Helen's flat is very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished and the kitchen table has a stunning view over Hereford (many games of cribbage played with glasses of wine!). The kitchen has everything needed to produce a meal and Helen kindly left milk, breakfast goods etc in the fridge. The bed was very comfortable, with extra linen if you needed. The HUGE shower was a real luxury. The relaxing spacious sitting room has a woodburner stove if needed (sadly we could not justify lighting it in June 😆). This is a perfect base for travelling around the beautiful surrounding areas, or to just chill out and relax (WiFi very good). 10/10 🤗

We enjoyed a weekend stay in Sarah’s beautiful apartment. It is furnished to a very high standard and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would be delighted to return.

We had an absolutely perfect stay at this Airbnb in Bath Spa. The location near to Pulteney Bridge, was so convenient and beautiful. The Georgian-era home was filled with tasteful period pieces and antiques. It felt like we were living in a "stately house". It also has all modern conveniences and was immaculate. The Hostess was fun and friendly. We will be back and recommend this gorgeous place to anyone staying in Bath Spa.

I was a guest at a wedding at Twyning Park and found Terry’s accommodation to be stellar and perfectly suited to my needs for my weekend stay. Terry was super accommodating of any requests and I’d highly recommend his place. Thanks again!

My kids love the dogs and horses. They had a lot of fun to play with them. Very peaceful and quiet place. Very good experience for kids who growing up in the city.

Eleanor was the perfect host! Her place was immaculate and stylishly decorated and furnished to a high quality. Exactly what you need for a short or long break to The Malvern Hills and/or local area. All walkable and great selection of restaurants, cafes and shops to mooch around. Bed was super comfortable too, so relaxed after our weekend there. Thanks Eleanor.

Was a great check in with John who gave clear instructions and a brief intro to the apartment. It’s an historic building nestled in a beautiful secluded spot but immediately accessible to Stroud including a walkable supermarket. We were treated to a brass band on Sunday morning from the park bandstand opposite! Comfortable and cosy interior perfect for our short stay. John was the perfect gentleman and host

Victoria’s flat was amazing! She definitely deserves a 5+ rating! What a wonderful find! The charming town of Tetbury is easily walkable from “The Retreat”. There are so many places to eat, drink, walk, shop and explore. We would love to return! Thank you, Victoria, for sharing your lovely flat with us! It was perfect!

A great place to stay to explore Upton and the surrounding areas. Apartment is great in a central location right in town, easy walk to anywhere in Upton. Carola and Rick were great hosts, good clear instructions and helpful information. Apartment was spotless (thank you to their housekeeper Emma), and would highly recommended both the Regency Apartment and Carola and Rick as hosts.

Had a great weekend in the Forest of Dean from Jennie's place for our anniversary. Very peaceful and a good detox from the tech filled modern world. The space was perfect for our young German Shepard pup Raven. Location is great for walks just across the road and easy access to all the Forest of Dean has to offer.

We had a great stay at this lovely apartment. It’s stylishly decorated, well-equipped, and just a short walk from the centre of town. The cot and high chair provided were perfect for our 1.5-year-old, and everything was very comfortable and easy. Check-in instructions were clear and straightforward. Parking outside the apartment was full when we arrived on Friday evening, which made unloading a little tricky, but there was space on Sunday when we left so it may just have been the timing. Overall, a really nice base for our weekend and we’d definitely recommend it!

We had the most wonderful stay with Mags. The house is stunning, surrounded by the most beautiful landscaped gardens. It was lovely to wake up to the birdsong in the morning. The property itself is cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We slept great and the shower is excellent! Lastly, Mags was the cherry on top. She was kind, attentive and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome, albeit we only stayed for one night. One of the best Air BnBs we’ve stayed in - we hope we can find an excuse to come back again. Brava!

Brilliant location, with nearby free parking and easy walking distance to Glo road into the rest of Bristol. The space was lovely and cute. Although super warm at night, but not a massive problem. Had all the facilities you could need/want. The check-in/out was really easy and simple too.
