Ski-in/Ski-out holiday rentals in Fairbanks North Star Borough

I cannot say enough good things about this hangar home and the hosts!! 10 minutes from the airport, convenient access to everything we wanted to do, and absolutely beautiful inside and out. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the curtains let us sleep well in the light. There are the planes that take off and land outside, but it was never a bother or very early or late. Most of all, Ruth and Johanna were incredibly responsive, and went above and beyond to help us out during our stay. (And their binder of local recommendations was fantastic…we tried out several and loved them all!). I hope to come back and stay longer.

This place is perfect for seeing the aurora, others need to go here. You need to be in bed, hear the aurora, come out or take a photo.Go to the nearby supermarket about 30 minutes by car, there is a common kitchen where you can make your favorite food.We stayed here for 5 days and saw the Aurora for 4 of those days.Friendly boss and easy to communicate with.

Joy is a friendly and an excellent host. The place was great too: clean and matched the description. We had some internet woes, but Joy took care of that too. This is great place to watch the northern lights too! Although because of the weather unfortunately we could not see the northern lights, Joy and her husband made great proactive effort to help us with that. Thanks Joy, for hosting, and we would definitely considering staying here again!

We can’t say enough about how much we adored staying with Richard! Patricia was out of country, but Richard was the most helpful and gracious host! The bedrooms are a tight fit, and are on the same level as the host, but he graciously used the downstairs bathroom, and we had the upstairs bath on the same level as our room. The bath! It was like having a mini-spa right there. And the towel warmer was a lovely addition! Our host provided plenty of drinking water to use, as they are on a well system and still working out the kinks with the sulphur smell, which is EXTREMELY typical of that area, so nothing to be alarmed by. The kitchen was always clean, the whole house was, and we just appreciated Richard’s hospitality and kind spirit. This was our first time sharing a home, and it was a WONDERFUL experience because of who we shared it with. Blessings to you, Richard! 🤗

The yurt was amazing! So cozy and clean and had awesome views! Colleen was incredibly responsive and even alerted me when the Northern Lights were expected to appear! The description of the yurt is incredibly accurate and the directions to the address were clear. The location is great for aurora viewing and for getting to some of the recommended viewing sites. It was so cool to stay in a yurt and I would highly recommend Colleen's place to anyone visiting the Fairbanks area.

This BnB is in a beautiful location on the Chena River and the rooms and amenities were very comfortable.

We loved Colleen’s yurts and really appreciate all that she does to keep them in great condition for guests. The view to the mountains was clear our first night. It was a bit cloudier the second night, but we still had a great time cozy inside. The drive up is definitely challenging in the winter, so if you can minimize that you’ll likely have a better stay.

Mari was very helpful and attentive during the booking process as well as during the stay. Her place is so quaint and beautiful and if you are looking for a piece of paradise with a true Alaskan feel then this is the home for you. Conveniently located to many winter activities and beautiful places !!

We are repeat customers. This is a wonderful home in an ideal location in Fairbanks. The host shares her home with guests; she is flexible and easy to get along with. While the location is very close to the University with easy access to downtown, the property is in a fabled Fairbanks historic neighborhood that is a quiet and private retreat from the city. Set in a large birch stand, it has views of town below and on a clear day, the whole breadth of the Alaska Range. We had a wonderful extended late March stay.

we thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay by the lake. Quiet and safe and if enjoy the seaplanes like I do...you'll love it. Would absolutely stay here again!! Thank you for the great getaway!

A very cozy and tidy home, along with a kind and patient host, gave me wonderful memories in Fairbanks. If I ever have the chance to visit Fairbanks again, Dan’s home will definitely be my first choice.

It was exactly what I needed, and I thought the price was fair. Not everyone is used to using an outhouse, but I lived in Fairbanks for many years and I am.

My stay at Pam's was excellent, she was so kind and welcoming and made me feel right at home (especially as a younger solo traveler). She was able to pick me up from the airport, and was kind enough to stop by a grocery store on the way to her house so I could get food for my stay (though she also has things to share in her house as well)! Pam was so generous and had great recommendations for places to go/what tours are worthwhile. She also has an immense amount of knowledge about the history of Alaska, especially land conservation and the protection of the Arctic Refuge. It was amazing to hear her stories and learn more about the place I was visiting, it enriched my stay greatly. She was also kind enough to lend me some warmer socks and mittens! Pam is an amazing host and I loved being able to share her cozy cabin for a week!
