Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Essex

Keith was super responsive and a great host! We came up with our baby for a wedding at the Essex. The amenities at his property were great and the location was 5 minutes from the Essex. His guidebook was excellent with great local recommendations.

I stayed with my 4 yr old grandson while my son and his wife moved to there New home in VT I felt safe, the valet was Fabulous always helpful . The restaurant was delicious for breakfast and easy and accommodating. My grandson loved the pool and the game room All in all we had a great time !

Wir waren nur kurz Gast bei Abigail, haben es aber sehr genossen. Die Wohnung hatte alles was man benötigt, war sehr geräumig und sauber. Die Kommunikation mit Abigail hat sehr gut funktioniert. Wir würden sofort wieder kommen.

Our stay at the barndominium in Westford was truly unforgettable! Erika is one of the best hosts we’ve ever encountered—kind, communicative, helpful, and incredibly welcoming. The home is a unique gem: modern, spacious, cozy, and beautifully designed. We loved the big kitchen with two sinks (great for cooking together), comfy beds, and excellent bathrooms. As a musician, I especially appreciated the great acoustics for playing guitar and singing. The peaceful property includes friendly chickens we got to feed, and Erika generously shared fresh eggs with us! Located just 25 minutes from downtown Burlington, we had the best of both worlds: nature and city life. We paddleboarded on Lake Champlain, hiked to waterfalls, and took in the beautiful Vermont countryside. This was our first time in Vermont and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We truly felt at home and will absolutely return. Thank you, Erika, for such a warm and memorable experience!

This was a last minute trip for a family funeral, and Megan was wonderful to work with, and very accommodating. Her rental was clean, spacious and roomy enough for our family to gather. We appreciated her responsiveness and how well kept the home is. We will look to book this house again the next time we are in Vermont.

Wow, this place was a stunning find for us. Quite simply a peaceful wooded oasis with a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain. The house is clean, spacious, and accommodating. The little things like toys for our son, the pool table, and Adirondack chairs made us feel right at home. We enjoyed taking the Plattsburgh Ferry to Vermont, playing badminton in the yard, watching the sunrise on the porch, and cooking in the spacious kitchen. Marco was an incredible host and we will definitely stay again at this lovely house.

Unlike most Airbnb's, there was no need to contact Libby for any reason during our stay.

Beautiful Vermont retreat. We didn’t want to leave! This home is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort—peaceful, thoughtfully designed, and surrounded by nature in every direction. The open living space was ideal for gathering, the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked (a rarity in many rentals), and the dining area easily handled our group meals. Loved the hot tub for evening soaks under the stars. We will be back!

Staying at Gail's place was a treat. I came durring the off-season which was quiet and peaceful. Most of the resort area is closed outside winter and summer but there is a small market open during the day for convieniences. It's also a short drive away from many small towns. Standouts were Stowe and Waterbury which were wonderful to visit. There are so many trails to checkout in the area. Hiking up the mountain just outside the apartment is great and has an amazing view at sunset. Camels hump and various trails in the notch were awesome. It was even close enough where I took a day trip into the White Mountains. I stayed for 27 days. Durring the week I work remotely. The internet was enough for large conference calls with video during the day and I had no issues. In the evening there is a noticible slowdown. The Wifi is shared throughout the resort. The kitchen was easy to work with. And when you open the balcony door there is a small stream that offers fantastic white noise.

My husband and I only stayed 2 nights at Carson's apartment, but it was exactly as described, very clean and looked like the pictures posted. Beautifully decorated and had everything you could need in the cute little kitchen. The bed was comfortable and there were even extra chargers in the bedroom. The mini split heat in the apartment was nice, as it was raining and cold our first night. The location is ideal - quiet neighborhood but short drive to downtown.

Great little spot in an excellent location. right between Burlington and Stowe. Excellent value. Walking distance to coffee shop, pizza / beer garden, and a riverside trail. Only negatives were that the bed was pretty firm, and the bathroom Is very tight. Overall had a great stay.

Jonathan was an amazing host! The place was so clean, comfortable, lots of extra towels/linens. The kitchen was well stocked and immaculate. Lots of space to spread out with our group of friends. The master bedroom had a crib which was nice for our 1 year old. The only thing was the area was a bit sketchy…my brother-in-law’s handicap van got shot with a pellet gun by some dumb teens driving by. Smashed his whole side window which was not great. Police came out and took a report. Unfortunately, that could happen anywhere but I did feel a little unsafe after that. But the house itself was nice. Huge backyard. Would stay here again! Just wouldn’t park on the street lol.

Great place - suited are needs perfectly. Dave responded instantly for a minor question. Very clean and well stocked amenities. Would recommend.

Book with confidence! Kristina’s apartment is exactly as described. Extremely clean, with everything you need to be comfortable. Do be aware that the building is on a well-travelled road with active train tracks nearby. None of that was a deterrent for me. Noise is muffled in the building. Would definitely book again!

We had a great time at Thomas’ Mansfield Suite. Very comfortable and well appointed. We found a binder with news articles regarding the history of the building, which was housed UVM’s outdoors club in the 60’s. We would absolutely rent again.

My husband and I stayed in National at 1854 House and we loved it! It was exactly as described, and Sarah was a terrific host. Everything was very clean, she was quick to respond, left detailed instructions about all the unit had to offer, and even gave us some local recommendations. The bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the swing in the living room was a wonderful extra touch. The location was perfect for exploring all of northern Vermont. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. We would absolutely stay in National again. Definitely recommend!

Want to stay in the heart of the town/Stowe? This is the place! Your own designated parking spot. Very close to many eating/drinking establishments...did I say VERY close? Sure, this may equate to as mentioned low-level early-morning sounds from the Bakery/Cafe below so simply rise and shine or pack accordingly! I didn't mind it at all and even if I did, one bite of their maple syrup croissant and all is forgiven! Affordable and Jesse's refund "peace of mind" policy were surely deal makers. BTW, The Black Cap Coffee & Bakery folks and their offerings rule! Actual DARK ROAST coffee...I made sure to purchase a bag of those beans to take home. The restaurant directly out our bathroom window, Cork, was superb in all aspects. Glad we decided to go there the first night.

My husband and I loved our stay at the slopeside condo. The chair lift is right next to the condo for easy ski access (AMAZING skiing btw). Inside, the condo is so clean and cozy. Emily (the co-host) was very nice and responsive with great local restaurant recommendations. We're already thinking of coming back next year!

We needed a place to stay in the Jay area last weekend and found Valerie`s Airbnb. From start to finish it was very nice communicating with Valerie and the area this place is located in is just beautiful and peaceful. We were there with our two dogs for two nights total and it was a very pleasant stay. The apartment had everything we were hoping to have and the descriptions were very accurate. We can highly recommend this Airbnb for anyone who is looking to spend a few days in the Jay Peak VT area, with their dogs. The ice house and water park are just a few steps away and the Jay Peak Resort also hosts some great restaurants with tasty food. If we need a place in this area again, we hope we can secure this place and Valerie as our host again. Thank you for a great time!

Fantastic place to stay just north of Burlington! Colchester was beautiful and this condo is so close to the bike paths and causeway. Beautiful spot!

Great stay! Would definitely like to stay here again. Hosts were great at being in touch and at nice details such as fresh flowers and cinnamon rolls. Comfortable beds and living room. Excellent neighborhood. Do need a car to get to restaurants and stores. All around great rental.

What a beautiful place this! Looks like what the pictures show, Eric was available to answer any questions. Having the balcony for morning coffee looking at the mountains was a great way to start our day! No need to bring anything but your food has everything you need right there! I highly recommend this place for your next stay you won’t be disappointed!!!
