Holiday rentals with a pool in El Castillo

Amazing property. Felt more like staying at a high end resort. Extremely clean with great outdoor space and pool. Well stocked and safe with a gated entrance. Highly recommend.

This is our second time staying at Casa Gisela, we love this home and neighborhood so much.

We had an incredible stay in La Fortuna with our family, including our 3-year-old and 1-year-old. The home is perfectly situated right at the base of the volcano, offering unobstructed, stunning views—we could see Arenal from the living room and even while relaxing outside. The host was extremely thoughtful, leaving cold beers and champagne in the fridge for us, which was such a warm welcome after a long drive. Communication was excellent, and the concierge-style service made it easy to plan activities that worked for both adults and young kids. The space felt peaceful, safe, and well-equipped for a family. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area—especially families looking for comfort, scenery, and great hospitality.

We had an amazing stay here! The location was easy to find and not too far from the airport. There were definitely lots of local stores and restaurants to visit near by. We recommend Resturante Ross! The views especially early morning were amazing overall we have no complaints. Our favorite part was visiting the farm animals! Oscar was so nice and welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was cozy, spacious, and surrounded by beautiful nature—perfect for anyone looking to relax and unplug. What made it extra special was the horseback tour through the property, where we got to see local wildlife and enjoy fresh juice at the end. Jose and his family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home.

Aqua Vida is simply amazing. Words cannot describe how you’ll feel when you see everything you get with this property. It’s off the main road in La Fortuna but it’s very safe and peaceful. You get all the privacy you want while being 5 minutes away from everything in town. A huge natural spring pool, a covered area where you can cook, have your meals or just hangout, a huge yard to play in, a stream going through the property with beautiful trees and absolutely stunning landscaping. All this and you’re still not even in the house. Book this place. You’ll be happy you did.

Cozy home, just as described. Comfortable beds Great location for our family of 6 to do all the activities in and around La Fortuna. When we weren’t out exploring, our kids were in the pool, which was so enjoyable. There was a mixup when we first got there with another family who mistakenly was in our place. But it was quickly resolved and we were left a fruit basket the next day.

After an entire week in the discomforts of camping in the Uvita jungles, it was such a relieving treat to be back in the city in an apartment w/ optional air conditioning, an actual bathroom w/ shower & toilet access, a working laundry & a refrigerator to cool our drinks on. We may have gotten excited seeing that the refrigerator in the apartment had a filtered water button, since our ‘1st world’ tummies😆was having such a hard time w/ the tap water in Costa Rica. Even using the tap water for brushing our teeth made us vomit/have diarrhea, so we were sad when we realized that the filtered water button in the refrigerator did not work😢 We reached out to Carlos about it & he told us the water filter was not set up. We ended up just buying a big container of filtered water from Alajuela Walmart 20mins drive away. We felt safe because the condominium was in a gated complex with 24/7 security. We had a wonderful 8-day stay at Tatiana’s condo. The location is perfect — very close to SJO airport, shopping, restaurants, and many attractions in Alajuela, but still quiet, peaceful, and very secure with 24/7 security. The condo itself was spotless, fully equipped with everything we needed, from kitchen supplies to comfortable bedding, and even little extras like Lizano sauce, coffee, and laundry supplies. Tatiana was an amazing host — always super responsive, providing us with great tips and recommendations for places to visit, and regularly checking in to make sure everything was going well. During one night when a heavy rainstorm knocked out the power, she acted immediately to help resolve the issue, which we really appreciated. The gated community is very safe, with nice green areas and a pool that the kids enjoyed. We really felt at home here and would not hesitate to stay again. Highly recommended!

The place was very private and safe, all accommodations as described. Very close to the city center. If I had to nitpick, the mattress was extremely hard as well as the pillows. Everything else was amazing, Cristian is very responsive and proactive.

Allan and Isabella were so welcoming and helpful - meeting us to ensure we had everything we needed when we arrived and helping us with extra requests - Isabella even came over to help when the oven fuse went on Christmas Day, halfway through cooking our dinner! The house itself is even better than the photos and the location is great. Chachagua has a great little bakery and a butcher and is 20 minutes from la fortuna and all the adventures and amenities there. Wonderful stay for our multigenerational family!
