5-star all the way! This review could be pages long on all the great things to say about the Sit N' Duck. Both Mary and Larry are kind, friendly, and gracious hosts. We especially liked the very short walk to the ocean, the use of the Blackstone grill, the kitchenette with coffee maker, electric skillet, and refrigerator; the fluffy towels, the outdoor sitting areas, the comfortable bed, and hospitality...great suggestions on things to do and places to eat. Mary and Larry gave us complete privacy, but were available when needed. It was fun to share a few stories as we headed out to the beach. Other great features: parking availability, beach chairs and umbrella, small cooler (we used a lot), kitchen supplies, and absolutely squeaky-clean everything! Mary has thought of all the little details to make a perfect stay. Thank you so much Mary and Larry, can't wait to come back!

I’d give it “Three C’s”: Clean, Cute, Cozy. Attention to detail & pet friendly, the enclosed space protects the dogs until you’re ready to leave the gated enclosure. Oh, the welcome basket is delightful, healthy snacks & wine; which soothes the weary travelers. The kitchen rack for drying dishes is creative & sanitary-great idea! Good location for overnight accommodations. I’d recommend Anne’s place!

We had a great time at this place! Very accurate description and faithful to the pictures. Kitchen and bathroom in pristine conditions, clean linens and lots of gadgets to bring to the beach. Those bikes and the V shaped scooter was plus! I highly recommend it!

We had a great night at Tatyana’s place! She was accommodating, allowing early check-in and even letting us add a guest just a day before arrival. Communication was excellent and smooth throughout. The home was spotless and even better than described. It had all the listed amenities and more. The beach and pier were just a short walk or bike ride away. Parking was easy, and the neighbors we met while walking were friendly. Now, a heads-up: I still give Tatyana a 5-star review, but you may want to rent the whole house. We had the upstairs unit. The first night was perfect, but Saturday night, someone new checked in downstairs. We returned around 10 PM—my wife even took her shoes off before walking upstairs—and soon got a message to be mindful of noise. It was a buzzkill. Unfortunately, when sharing a space, you just don’t know who’ll be below or how sensitive they might be. Still, the location, host, and home were fantastic. Next time, I’d just rent the whole house for peace of mind.

My partner and I spent a peaceful week in this cozy spot. Very clean and well equipped for cooking and relaxing :) We especially enjoyed hanging out on the dock by the water and eating meals in the screened-in outdoor space. The surrounding neighborhood was very friendly as well. Rob was an excellent host and addressed any and all inquiries in a timely manner. Would definitely stay here again if you're looking for a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the more "quintessential" obx beach towns. Not a bad drive to Duck / Kitty Hawk either.

My 2 buddies and I like to do destination fishing trips a couple of times a year. Jennifer's condo, (right on the river) was very nice, an easy drive to the boat launches that our guide used, and the deck over the water was a great spot for adult beverages, cigars, and hours of solving world problems. One of our most memorable trips -- even if the fishing was less than stellar -- and Jennifer's condo was a big part of that. An easy drive to downtown Elizabeth City for dinners, and a private location that was both relaxing and peaceful. We will be back.

What a great week we had!! Great house, right on the beach! Perfect for just 2, but easily could accommodate 2 more. Very clean comfortable and nicely furnished. Awesome to hear the sound of waves crashing on the beach all night! The beach was beautiful and the dolphins passed by daily! Plenty of good restaurants in the area and things to do!

This was our second year at Serene Retreat. It’s just such a wonderful place for young children to enjoy the beach. The fenced in yard is great for their outdoor play. We enjoy cooking in the fabulous kitchen and feasting at the table with a view. Better than any restaurant around! Thank you again.

I so wish we could give this place more than 5 stars! The location is PERFECT. Peaceful, beautiful, quiet, private, right on the bay and literally 5 minutes from town. Hour and a half or so from Hatteras Ferry, 5 minutes from Kittyhawk beach, 30 mins from Coquina beach. We saw rabbits and sea otters in the front yard, and woke up to birds singing every morning. Spotlessly clean, comfy, great AC, kitchen with everything you could need, along with beach stuff. The photos honestly don’t do it justice, it’s stunning!! Bikes were a nice perk, and hosts were very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Cannot recommend enough!

Scenic views, relaxing stay. Great fishing from the dock and stunning sunsets over the Sound. We had a great time watching dozens of hummingbirds at the feeders over morning coffee on the deck. Kids had plenty of yard to play in and had a blast with the Pokémon chess set and the bunk beds. Thanks for a great stay!

My sister and I, along with our spouses, were in town for a funeral. The cottage was beautiful, clean, and convenient to everything. We especially loved the screened-in porch and the hot tub. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Washington.

We were thrilled with this property! Tons of space, very comfortable, clean, everything you need and fabulous view of the river! It was a haven for us after very busy days! We felt very at home and will definitely be back!

Gia’s DuckUtopia was everything we hoped it would be! There was something for everyone in my family. Although Gia provided lots of ideas and tips for the area, we loved just hanging out. The views of the sound were amazing. The pool and hot tub were perfect. My husband and son enjoyed the kayaks. My husband and daughter also enjoyed fishing for crab. Cleaning up with the outdoor shower after the beach was so easy. We loved all the amenities, especially the kitchen gadgets! All we needed to bring was food and towels for the beach. The place was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We hope to return next year…to finish the ping pong match that got rained out! What a relaxing time! Thanks, Gia!

Necla’s place was a fantastic find! It was private and off the beaten path, but central to so many of the things we wanted to do in Kitty Hawk. The property was lovely: I had to take some pictures of the lovely yard. The apartment was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and a great place to relax after spending time at the beach, breweries, restaurants, and shops in the area. Necla was quick to respond to questions, and her directions for check in and out were clear and easy to follow. I hope to stay here next time I head to OBX!

This place is great! Close to everything, the pool is right across from the apartment, the beach is so close, and so many wonderful food options within minutes. The apartment was perfect and had everything we needed!

Beautiful home and very spacious. Lynn was very helpful and came very late at night to help us with a lock box issue. Very close to the beach and had lots of beach items provided

Emily maintained an open line of communication from before checkin through the day of checkout. She even messaged us to ensure everything was perfect during the stay. Her home is clean and organized, and smelled amazing (love the Pura diffusers!) The amenities are exactly as described. Her home is in a quiet cul-de-sac and within walking distance to the beach and several restaurants. She even gives you personalized recommendations of places to eat and things to do. I would highly recommend her place for your next vacation!!

Natalie was an amazing host! Their condo was perfect for a quick get away. They had lots of good recommendations for restaurants near by! It was a great place for our family’s first experience at OBX! Definitely will look for this condo if we’re to come back to OBX!

The only thing that wasn’t great, was the limited amount of toilet paper. We needed more than one roll for each bathroom.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautifully updated and nicely appointed condo on Roanoke Island. The views of the Pamlico Sound were absolutely stunning—especially at sunrise with a cup of coffee in hand. The location was perfect, just a short drive to great restaurants and the Lost Colony outdoor show. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with all the basics we needed for cooking. We also loved the spacious dining and living area—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved my stay here. Kitchen had everything you need. Patrick was super helpful and even offered late checkout. Bed was really comfortable. Close to the golf course and the marina.
