Guy & Tanya’s cottage was the perfect landing place for my first visit to South Africa as a Black & trans American writer. The quiet, sunlit mornings with birdsong helped me focus on reading & writing. The steep hill & stairs around the cottage got me back into lifestyle physical activity, which I appreciated. Everyone I interacted with, from the vigilant staff at the entrance gate to the warm neighbor & proficient housekeeper, added to the sense of comfort & safety. When I had an issue with the space heater, the hosts were responsive, & the heating blankets on the bed were clutch. One night I was startled by several barking dogs while walking back to the cottage & Guy quickly intervened, but most days I just saw their chill dog, Django. The hosts were generous throughout my stay, letting me use laundry detergent & even offering a ride to a local café after checkout. The location is also near lots of art & culture events. It was sucha grounding place, would absolutely book again!

Alex was a very friendly, helpful host! The cottage is in a beautiful space and very secluded, set apart from the rest of the property. We enjoyed our stay and have already made plans to return!

Martin’s cottage in Parktown North is a great place to stay in Joburg. It’s located in one of my favorite neighborhoods, and is walkable to coffee shops and restaurants, etc. It’s located on a quiet, tree-lined street. Martin was a fantastic host, proactive and responsive and making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I’d highly recommend the cottage and Martin as a host for visitors to Joburg!

A true gem in the bushveld. One of the most beautifully decorated places I have ever stayed. Everything you need was there. Wood available on site, breakfast available on request in the most tranqual setting. The 2 braai areas was well utilized. We loved the big chess board. We did not use the pool as we visited in winter. But for sure, u cant go wrong by booking here!

I stayed 4 weeks at the Garden House for a work trip and had an amazing time, the moment I arrived at the property i felt right at home. The house is located in a beautiful peaceful garden. The location is very practical it being right in the city center while still in a quiet part. Linda was super kind, we spend many nice evenings together having nice conversation and she helped me with anything i needed, the staff was also very friendly. The room was very nicely furnished and very clean. I was grateful that I was able to use the kitchen too to prepare some meals. I am hoping i can come back to Arusha and the Garden House in the future as this was a wonderful stay throughout. Asante sana!

She is a dedicated person who listens to her residents. (It's being discreet.) A small garden, terrace, inner courtyard or you can even bring the car in! (Gate locked). Thank you again for this charming stay!

Great stay! The weather was absolutely freezing, but the hosts provided an additional heater that made a huge difference. Very peaceful, comfy bed...very comfortable for my young daughter and myself. If the weather would have been warmer, the pool would have been lovely! There are a couple of fantastic local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, which were really nice.

With Airbnb since 2014 also a host.This is our best and most memorable stay ! Oscar is a very special host. A night before booking and he reached out to us personally asking what our plans were.This is not expected. He cared and wanted us to have a good experience. Without his suggestions we would never have had the incredible stay that we did. We added meals which were delicious and an experience in themselves, sitting at the dining room table with Oscar was part of what made the whole stay incredibly unique.We learned so much as he shared the history of the local tribe, home and grounds we were staying on. Breakfast was magical, packed as a picnic for our excursion. He connected us with a guide to see animals. Sure recommendations from a host are normal but actually making the calls and arranging for the entire excursion with no extra fee, unheard of! It’s obvious he loves this area the people and home he has chosen to steward and host. For a more real Masai Mara adventure stay here!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Jenni and Jon are amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. The room ist beautiful and well-equipped and the location is perfect for exploring the North of the island. This was one of our best Airbnb experiences so far and we hope to come back soon. Highly recommend!

Paul and Winnie were phenomenal hosts. They went over and above to make this listing feel like home for us. The house was squeaky clean, the area is serene and homey. They gave me helpful suggestions for things I needed. They were so kind in providing little things that made a big difference, like a bit of ground coffee and tea, spices for cooking, drinking water, toiletries, etc. I felt right at home and would definitely go back!

We had a truly memorable stay at Twiga Lake House with stunning views of the lake - we especially enjoyed the sunrise, basking in the morning sun, golden evenings and bonfire nights. As you can tell, we throughly enjoyed the outdoor space!

We enjoyed our stay at Monica’s. The quaint house surrounded by nature was what we needed to decompress! Will definitely be visiting again, I highly recommend staying here if you want a break from city life

We really enjoyed our place for this short stay, with a special mention for Fabrice, our host, who is really adorable, attentive and attentive. We had to change our arrival dates, following an error on our part, Fabrice was very flexible and did everything to welcome us in the best conditions. The accommodation blends perfectly into nature and very clean, so the outdoor terrace is really a charming asset. We were able to enjoy breakfast facing the ocean, as well as the barbecue at sunset. I'm still thinking about the straw coconuts, which Fabrice prepared spontaneously for us …. the bread fruit he went to pick us; what a discovery!

My stay at this beautiful cottage has been faultless. The special touches and attention to detail inside the cottage are outstanding. Helen was incredibly welcoming, as have been the team working on site. And to top it off, four gorgeous dogs to pop in and say hello ever day. I shall be returning to Nairobi very soon and look forward to staying here again.

This was our first time in Johannesburg, and we were initially quite concerned about safety. However, we were much reassured by the smooth self check-in process, in-compound parking, double-gated access to the premises, and very cozy house for us to relax and enjoy our time in the city. Everything we needed was available plus much more - the free breakfast items were a great touch! The bed was comfortable and the neighbourhood quiet for a peaceful sleep. We were saddened not to have scheduled more days in Johannesburg with such a pleasant place to stay! Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

The place was super clean and matched the description as provided in the photos. Stephanie was very friendly and guided us with all the things as needed. The only downside was that the dogs barked at you everytime they see you which was a bit of trouble since my partner was afraid of dogs. Overall a very nice stay and much recommended if you are okay with dogs.
