Holiday rentals with a kayak in Durham County

We've stayed at Kristen's home three times. It is a peaceful and lovely location, and the house is very clean and welcoming. We find Roxboro a fun little town, and it is close to Virginia. I highly recommend.

The property is gorgeous, but the contract named rules not mentioned in the listing, and I wasn't sent the contract until a few days before we moved in, far too late to book something else - which I would have done, because this rendered this property less than ideal for us. I wish the listing was more clear and the contract was sent immediately after booking. The property itself, however was clean and beautiful.

Amy’s place was in a nice quiet neighborhood that has friendly neighbors. We were able to take a walk to a nearby small park with our daughter. The Whole Foods is also close by and walkable, though part of the walk is on a busy road. The house has a spacious kitchen and living room area. The bathrooms are small and the three bedrooms are right next to each other so you could hear the other rooms. Amy is generous in providing all the necessities and even provided a new bag of Starbucks ground coffee. The kitchen has all the things you’d need for cooking, including a full drawer of spices. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for anyone that’s visiting Raleigh!

We had one of our best family vacations ever at Scotts home on Hyco Lake. Our four teens went from fishing to pickle ball, to movie nights, dinner on the back porch, and then repeated it all. The beds were all soft and we had great nigbts sleep. All toiliteries were supplied and we never ran out of anything. Fully stocked kitchen- I'd add another pizza pan and a large serving bowl, but thats it. Towels, sunscreen, pickle balls, paddles, life jackets- all there. We only had to leave to get worms at Ma Barkers and were able to hibernate together and connect and fellowship together. We did bring most of our groceries with us and theres a food lion close by for anything we forgot.

We LOVED our stay. It was perfect for our family. The home had all the conveniences we look for in a rental. The beds were comfy, lake towels were provided which was a bonus, very clean, great outdoor seating and lots of fun stuff in the boat house for the kids and adults too. Would def book here again. Loved the little touches like games/magnetic blocks for the kids. PacMan was a hit!!!

My sister and I rented the Rabbit Hole during Thanksgiving week. Our families had the best time and would love to return next Summer when we can enjoy Hyco Lake. Heather, the host, was very responsive and checked on us throughout our stay. We cooked a big Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen was perfect. We had everything we needed. We loved waking up each morning to the beautiful views from every floor. The kids loved the game room and the bunkbed room. The house is beautifully decorated and quite cozy, and far exceeded our expectations. Thank you Heather and family for sharing your beautiful home with us.

We had a great time at Adrian’s place. Our group really enjoyed the game room downstairs, and hot tub and fire pit outside. Making s’mores under the string lights was a highlight! The house is well appointed and the 8 of us felt like there was plenty of space to hang out and relax. We really appreciated Adrian’s responsiveness and helpful instructions.

Beautiful gem of a spot! The private dock access and water toys (floats, kayaks, paddle boards) are such an awesome feature. The space was comfortable for our entire group, in rain and in sun. Host was responsive and kind and let us have late check out. Definitely will come again! Highly recommend!

We had a great time paddle boarding the lake and chilling on the screened porch. Went out for drinks to buoys to break up the stay.

We had a great time at the Cottage! The lake was beautiful to kayak on and the general environment was very relaxing. The host was super kind and great with communication! Will definitely stay again if we come back to the area!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the hideaway. It was peaceful, the home was exceptionally clean, and it had everything we could ever need and more! The boathouse was so perfect with optimal shade all day and outstanding fishing, we caught a 21” catfish and many massive bass. There weren’t as many bugs as one would expect being in the woods, but we did love the screened patio and the screened room down on the dock. I would recommend this beautiful home to anyone!

The cottage was great! We were in town for a race at VIR so unfortunately didn't have time to check out the lake but we enjoyed our stay, the place was very peaceful and relaxing. The setting right on the lake is beautiful. Chris was also very responsive and helpful at all times.

Had a great weekend at the cabin. We have rented a few cabins on hyco lake and this location was probably our favorite. Fishing was fantastic and we found a resturant nearby that was, a little pricy, but amazing steak. It was the closest steak house when you google "steak near me". We spent hours down at the dock house and when inside the cabin, the coffee bar and couch called my name often lol.

We rented the house as a place for family to gather. The space was perfect with comfortable seating space, outside table, seating area and fire pit. Jane the host was so kind leaving a sweet note and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Great place!!!

We had a wonderful stay, the Airbnb was peaceful, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing few days. It was exactly what we were hoping for. We’re already looking forward to coming back and making more great memories here!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lisa’s “Play and Stay.” It was a short drive from Raliegh to this little piece of paradise. You can’t be bored with all the water equipment, outdoor games, and jacuzzi. Just relaxing on a longe chair, watching the ducks was awesome! Such a fun and relaxing stay. Lisa’s communication is excellent and she’s super accommodating. A+

It was a fishing trip for my husband and he enjoyed every bit of it!! Including the house itself.. he brung his own kayak, and didn’t even explore all of the lake but enjoyed the surroundings and the peace of the area.. the host was amazing and very responsive, and the house was beautiful.. will definitely be staying again. Thank you so much for the hospitality

What a wonderful experience I was hosting my daughter and her husband and my three grandchildren ages 11 that are twins and 9 and they had a blast from sun up to sundown. They had such a wonderful time in the kayak fishing playing outside.
