In the bright basement (with windows) of our unique canal house with façade-garden, on the corner of a canal and a square with large oak-trees you find this b&b wih lots of privacy, nice rooms and close to everywhere you would like to go! You enter the spacious entrance hall with table and coffee / tea supplies; with a private bathroom, separate toilet and a cozy bedroom / living room. Renovated with natural stone and wood. This house and this area are very photogenic.

We felt that Rob’s place was a great accommodation for an authentic experience. It’s based in one of the busiest areas of the city, in a historic building which has it’s pros and cons. The apartment is small but stylishly renovated. It’s also right next to several cafes, bars and restaurants but the noise can be heard in the apartment even late at night and early in the morning. Rob was very responsive and provided the apartment as soon as it was ready. It was overall a pleasant place for a short stay.

It was surprisingly quiet! efter the music stopped around 23 as same time as the church bells went silent. We were slightly surprised of the continues smell of cannabis in the area, compared to other areas we walked in. Easy to find a place for breakfast close by, so we never used the kitchen.

The location of this apartment is simply fantastic. It is the most beautiful neighborhood in Amsterdam, with a lot of life, a lot of greenery and people who enjoy the outdoors. The terrace is unique, designed to be used even in the cold (electric blankets). A first floor of steep stairs (typical of Amsterdam). Spacious room, comfortable bed, very good shower, beautiful decoration, private toilet, (next to the room). They allowed us to drop off our luggage before the scheduled time. There is a shared refrigerator and microwave on the upper floor. The only point (not something that can be modified by the owners) is that it is very close to a church that rings the bells, even at dawn, but the owners provide earplugs. Everything is planned to enjoy Amsterdam. We would happily stay again!

Evelien was very friendly and helpful. She was flexible in our check in time as we arrived earlier than expected. The apartment was well organised, allowing its compact size to be plenty for the two of us. I must say that Evelien had thought of everything we might need so the flat was really well equipped. Ten minutes walk from the central train station, it could not have been better situated. We loved that you could walk through such beautiful historic housing, as we meandered through the city (Amsterdam is good for meandering…). All in all a wonderful airbnb with a fantastic host. Many thanks
