Family-friendly holiday rentals in Cuyahoga River

My friends and I have made stopping at the Penthouse an annual kick-off to our summer on our way to Sandusky. Rob is incredibly kind and friendly and even happened to see us bringing in our luggage and offered to help carry them up. Wooster is such a charming little town with lots to do (cute shops, lots of great restaurants/coffeeshops, etc) and the space made us feel right at home, so much so that on our first visit we decided to come back over and over.

AZ Longhorn was exactly what we needed for a getaway! This beautiful cabin was even better than the pictures, secluded, peaceful and simply perfect. Private yet close to wonderful restaurants, coffee shops & shopping. Barb was a fantastic host - so kind, responsive & gave great recommendations. It was a great romantic getaway but would be a great family get away too. We can’t wait to bring our kids next time. Thanks again, Barb!

This was our second stay and it didn’t disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed our girls’ weekend getaway and the on location massages were the cherry on top. We will be back!

To keep it short & simple.. everything was fabulous. Owner seemed very nice. Very helpful and responsive with any questions. They gave us complete privacy but made sure we knew exactly how to reach them if we needed ANYTHING. The cabin is very organized, labeled, clean, ect. My personal favorite was the screened-in porch. Really appreciated the fact that they left a large wagon right where we park so we could take all our things to the cabin in one trip. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic spot! PERFECT if you are with a couple of friends or looking for a convenient place so you can bounce around downtown Wooster!

Karen's place is so beautiful. Very clean and in a good neighborhood. Hot tub was perfect and game table was a lot of fun. Looking forward to going back when the pool is open. Highly recommend staying here!

We rented at the last minute because our reservation at another place was canceled. Michael’s place was even better than the canceled place. Michael checked in with us on a regular basis helping to ensure our stay was positive.

I wish I could give more than a 5 star review! if ever a place earned a 1,000 stars, this is it! It's the perfect balance of luxury and comfort. The decor is charming. the hosts were fabulous and attentive. The kitchen has every appliance and utensil you could desire. The view is great and there is so much to do on the grounds. We enjoyed pickleball a walking around the lake. We spent a lovely evening around a campfire made from the amply stocked wood pile. No attention to detail was spared and everything was impeccably clean. I have stayed at Air Bnbs all over the country and this one tops them all! I know this is a place I will be returning to over and over again.

We absolutely loved the property. It was so nice to have the option to use the grill/ fire pit/ back yard. My husband loved being able to just walk down a few steps to enjoy fishing—which he did every morning and evening. We were only about an hour from Marblehead where we went to see the lighthouse and then took a ferry to Kelley’s Island. On the island, we recommend seeing the Glacial Grooves and the North Shore Alvar. Then an hour in the other direction, we were able to enjoy the views from the observation tower at Lake Erie Bluffs. And very nearby was Lakeview Park, which had a beach area with swimming. The views from the back yard at sunset were stunning. We had everything we needed for a nice relaxing stay by the water. Mark’s place was great for our family of 6. We always prefer a one level house with at least two bathrooms, and Mark’s place was a great fit. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of towels and washcloths. The master bed was comfortable. The only complaint from our family members who slept in the other two beds was that the mattresses were a little hard and uncomfortable. Overall, we had a great stay!

Barry is an excellent host- everything was easy. House walkable distance to restaurants and gym. Close to grocery stores, Pet Smart and Target. Quiet street. Fenced in backyard great for my dog. This home was perfect for my extended stay in Cleveland and I hope it will be available when I need to return.

Tyler's place was just as described. Price was great!

The place was great. The two en suites upstairs was exactly what we needed. Each room has their own sitting area, so you can relax away from everyone else you are traveling with. Our kids loved being in the basement away from everyone else. The kids also got excited every time they heard a train coming and would run outside to watch it go by. The tracks are about 200 yards away on the other side of a grass field, so you can watch them from the porch with no problem. There were also lots of games and puzzles for everyone to play.

Marks place was beautiful. The house was just like the pics showed. All open concept downstairs and beautiful bedrooms upstairs. We took our dogs and they loved it. Fenced in back yard, very peaceful place. String of lights outside on deck is perfect for evenings to sit out. Also has a grill so you can BBQ out as well. Not far from town either. There were a couple cute little diners and restaurants that we checked out. Highly recommend Marks place. Would definitely love to visit again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The place was super nice and felt very updated and clean. Having snacks available was such a thoughtful touch. It definitely didn’t go unnoticed and was much appreciated. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Deb’s place perfectly matched the description. The check in process was straightforward, and the checkout was even more seamless without the (often common) long list of tasks I have experienced at some stays. I cannot say enough about this small gesture! The balcony was our favorite spot to relax between activities. Deb was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Comfy beds at the end of the day made this the perfect stay! Overall, it was a fantastic space equipped with everything we could possibly need. Highly recommend!

Lots of space. Convenient location to walk around Garrettville.

My family stayed in Rob’s beautiful duplex as a home base while my dad was at Cleveland Clinic for heart surgery and recovery. The number of beds and cozy living room were perfect. The air conditioners worked well and it was great being able to do laundry. There were tons of extra towels and bedding that we had access to just in case, which was great. I grew up in an older home so the creaky floors didn’t bother me at all. Be aware that it has many stairs and levels (not a problem for us). Thanks for the quick communication, even before officially booking!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Erin's Airbnb! The location is perfect --- super walkable & convenient, with quaint shops, cafes, bars, restaurants & the park just steps away. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips, making our trip so enjoyable. The home itself was a delight. It was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials, & had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy bedding. We loved the locally themed artwork & cozy living room setup! (Loved everything except the midges lol) Erin was an exceptional host. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, & went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Any questions we had were answered almost instantly, which made everything stress-free. We can’t recommend this Airbnb enough! It’s the perfect blend of comfort, style, & convenience. Thank you, Erin, for making our apartment hunting trip so memorable. We’d love to return!

Wonderful apartment steps from the Oberlin campus. The unit is at the back of the house with a beautiful back yard and a private porch. The apartment is well-appointed and super comfortable.

We had an excellent stay at Laurie’s place. It was pristine, spacious, and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to nearby restaurants and the grocery store without any issues. Laurie was very attentive and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again in the future!
