Family-friendly holiday rentals in Crozet

This house was a phenomenal stay for my wedding weekend. I love old southern houses and this place blew me away. Katie was very accommodating and responsive.

The Inn was the best place to prepare for and stay during our daughter’s wedding weekend. We had everything we needed; the house was beautiful and clean; the beds were comfy. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and around the fire after the festivities. We received 20% off the brewery restaurant and the food was extremely tasty. We highly recommend the Inn!

We had a really nice time at the cabin. Everything was laid out very nicely and was ready for us the moment we arrived. The space is beautiful and right on the lake. It was extremely peaceful to sit in the large screened deck and hang out with the stunning lake in view. Hope to stay here again some day!

Stayed here for a bachelorette party. The house was perfect for our group. Bev was so nice and helpful - anything we needed she helped us out! The location is also great if you’re wanting to do a bit of everything - wineries, downtown shopping and dining out, breweries, etc! The yard is amazing and it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere when you’re outside on the deck. Highly recommend!

We were looking for a cabin, hoping to find a quiet place to rest, relax and recharge in nature. We never dreamed that we would find an authentic 18th century cabin located in the forest on a mountain top - with an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. The inside of the cabin was beautifully furnished as would be expected in colonial Virginia. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the experience of stepping back in time.

This place was exactly what we needed to get away for the weekend. Elise went above and beyond with her list of nearby recommendations and property details. We met her twice and she was so kind, and we were lucky to meet her sweet dog George and sweet barn cat Mosby. We cannot wait to come back!

The Fox Den is one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub, roasting marshmallows at the outdoor fireplace, grilling steak, and simply relaxing for a couple of days. The cottage had everything we needed for cooking and grilling. Although the cottage and hot tub are located next to the main house, we still felt a sense of privacy. We've been visiting different Airbnbs annually in the VA and PA areas, and the location of this one was excellent. We followed two of the recommendations from the provided guidebook, and they were amazing (Carter's Mountain Orchard and Fiorano Restaurant).

First of all, Kate is a fantastic hostess. She was very accommodating, welcoming and communicative. I greatly appreciated her hospitality. The property is gorgeous and peaceful. It is like a peaceful spa oasis home away from home. You can find comfort in every room. The hot tub is glorious to soak in while staring at the nighttime sky or for watching the sunset. There is practically no light or noise pollution. You can hear the creek down the hill flowing. Most of your neighbors are cows grazing in a field down the drive or an adorable family of foxes on the property. It is a perfect spot to just get away, relax and enjoy a natural setting tucked away in a hillside. Kate has mindfully ensured guests have almost anything you may need to prepare meals in the kitchen. Also plenty of towels and linens. You are about a 15-20 minute drive away from everything C-Ville has to offer. Perfect distance to have access to all you may need and to have peace and quiet. Truly a wonderful spot.

Words cannot describe the feeling of pure calm that comes over you when you arrive. This place is truly a treasure hidden in the woods. Once you cross the creek you leave the world and all your cares behind. The host pays attention to all the little details and it shows. We have stayed at quite a few places but this one is on our return list. We look forward to sliding up for a long weekend in the late fall or early winter. (Tip- be sure to spend 15 min reading the welcome package it is time well spent).

We stayed here for a wedding in Charlottesville and, while the cabin was a bit out of the way from where most guests were staying in town, it ended up being the best decision we made. Our group was too large for hotel rooms, and this cabin gave us the perfect place to spread out and relax. We honestly wished we had more time to enjoy the space itself—it's ideal for a peaceful getaway weekend. Unfortunately, wedding events kept us running around, but we could easily see ourselves coming back just to unwind and take it all in. The property offers plenty to do, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A couple of small suggestions that would’ve helped us (specifically as guests getting ready for a wedding): a full-length mirror in the downstairs bathroom and some brighter lighting in the bathrooms for hair and makeup. That said, these things wouldn’t be an issue for a regular weekend trip. Overall, a charming cabin that we hope to return to when we can truly enjoy it!

Absolutely great place! Everything he said it was and more. All our guests couldn’t get over it! Kitchen was clean and beds super comfy. Definitely plan to come back! Highly recommend! Best Airbnb we have stayed in!

Another great stay at Firnew Cottage!! This time we were able to enjoy the swimming hole in the Conway River - great spot on a hot Virginia day.

Cheryl's mountain view cabin was perfect. Communication was quick and easy. Also, upon arrival the WiFi name and password were posted right next to the key lockbox, so if you forget to write down or screenshot the code, you can log on right there. If you happen to need internet for your trip, connection was always fast and easy. The cabin looked even better in person than in the pictures.Very open, very clean, very dog friendly and dog-theme decorated!! Enjoyed breakfast on the porch with the mountain view each morning. If you are a hiker, the AT trailhead is literally within walking distance from the cabin. Oh, btw, the driveway--it is steep. we had a non-AWD Nissan Rogue, it was a little sketchy the first run up, but we did fine the rest of the week. However, we had no rain, and I think it would have been worse with a wet driveway. Also close by is Crabtree Falls, its a must-see. Planet of vineyards around as well, and it is about a 1 hour drive to Charlottesville. Loved this cabin!!

we stay at this property whenever visiting our son in Palmyra. the unit is always spotless, warm and welcoming. recent upgrades are a functional kitchen with sink, refrigerator, coffee maker, Hot plate for quick one pot meals and microwave. the space is under a large cathedral ceiling and offers plenty of space for two people but can accommodate four with the additional queen size air mattress available. perfect place for a young familys, or a few friends to spend a weekend or longer. The fact that pets are welcome is also awesome. thank you linnice for providing such a warm comforting unit!

Great location close to the arena. Much better than having to drive home 2 hours at midnight. Saw deer and a chipmunk in the yard so that was cool. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Great peaceful retreat. Everything matched the description. Great feel, relaxing, and close to area attractions. Full size kitchen, stove with oven, toaster oven, and refrigerator with lots of various pots and pans, dishware and utensils. Made cooking dinner easy and enjoyable.

Brad’s place is beautiful! Comfortable bed! There was available coffee, super plus. Phone chargers on both sides of the bed. Just perfect. Just wished we could have stayed longer.

beautiful mountain top and away from the hustle and bustle. The place was very clean and peaceful, but the oven temp was a little off other then taht the place was perfect.

Andy was very responsive and gave clear instructions. We had been at this resort a few times in the past and the unit we received was very nicely appointed and updated. We had all amenities and were super close to the indoor pool and gym. Comfortable.

I’d argue that this is one of the best places to stay in Wintergreen. The cabin itself is perfect. We are a young family and it was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The location is also perfect. It is very close to all the attractions on the resort. Clay was a great host as well. The perfect amount of communication; engaged without being intrusive. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be sure their trip is easy and successful!

This is just someone opening their home, it is someone who loves to host; and it shows! Not only was the view incredible but the place felt like a home. From the little details (the “I forgot it at home” box, plenty of pool and bathroom towels, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, having freshly ground coffee/sugar/sweetener, having spices and any kitchen utensils you could need, and even a heart keychain on the door and my name on the chalkboard). The bed was so comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing. The pool was great (although the weather was a little too cold for us to enjoy it fully)! The ceiling upstairs on one side of the bed was a little low but it was fine and worth it for a king bed. Every uber driver we had didn’t mind waiting for us as he just looked at the view. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this condo in Wintergreen. The condo was beautifully furnished. Very clean. And the views from the balcony are unbelievable. Since it was spring, it was very quiet which we enjoyed. The mountains were so lush and green. The host responded to any questions within minutes. Check out was a breeze. We will be booking again!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The farm tour with Madi was excellent, truly a must do! The yurt was cozy with a short walk to the pool and hot tub. It felt like a private retreat. We had some big rain storms while there, but inside was dry and comforting. Will absolutley be back!
