Cottage holiday rentals in Cowichan Lake

This has been our 5th or 6th trip here and it’s always perfect! Josha and Sam are so friendly and the space is completely private. It’s the perfect get away.

We were five, 60 something ladies who get together for hiking and fun. We stayed at Russell's Wilderness Lodge for three nights. The lodge was as described and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with items that we needed to cook many great meals. We did have to make whipping cream by hand but figured it was a good workout for our arms as we took turns beating the cream. We enjoyed the hot tub after coming back from a hike. We had great sleeps in comfortable beds. It was very quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again.

This was one of the best Air BnB’s I have stayed at. The cottage itself was more beautiful than in the photos. It had one of the best stocked kitchens I have had in an air bnb. Becky was lovely and very helpful and easy to deal with. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area and look forward to coming back myself.

The little cabin remains an absolute treasure. I first came here 17 years ago and it remains as wonderful as ever, impeccably cared for and very private. The view from the deck is breathtaking and the hammocks are a special treat!

Carol’s place was AMAZING! The kitchen had everything needed to make meals for dining in, which we did a lot of because THAT VIEW!! We didn’t want to leave, just wanted to sit and watch for marine life. We saw seals, dolphins, eagles, and a family of 6 sea otters playing. When the evening started to cool we moved our binoculars to the hot tub to continue enjoying the views and serenity. My family agreed the beds were comfy and we all slept well. If you are looking for a go go go vacay Pender Island is not your place. If you want easy hikes in gorgeous surroundings, peace that reaches your very core, and super friendly people I definitely recommend Pender Island! The didc golf course has discs for public use and was really fun! Driftwood shopping center has all you will need. We recommend Sea Star Winery and a stop at Bee Wild distillery for tastings. We HIGHLY recommend Carol’s place!

Hugh and Deb's place worked out great for us. We were visiting family nearby. The place was spotless, extremely clean and tidy. The hot tub was a nice bonus that we enjoyed. They were responsive hosts to any questions.

We had a great stay! Grandkids swam in the pool most every evening, and it was great to have the beach so close! Accommodations were very clean, comfortable beds, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils needed for preparing meals and grilling. The grands loved discovering the box of toys too!

This Kinsol cottage is well worth the price, and is entirely private, unlike most Airbnb rentals in Vancouver Island, which are suites in someone’s house. It was clean and well designed. As an avid Airbnb booker I really appreciated that Liz had all the condiments and spices you would need for a trip away from home. The backyard is peaceful and we had no neighbours while we were there. We enjoyed the hot tub and the sound of the birds, we even had an owl land in the yard. The bedroom loft has steep stairs, which is noted in Liz’s description, you should go down them sideways (we were fine, but probably not suitable for elderly). The bed was firm yet very comfortable and the reclining loveseat had us falling asleep every night. One hour to Victoria, one hour to Nanaimo, 1 3/4 hour to Port Renfrew (if you take the Pacific Marine route be prepared for a very very windy road). Kinsol trestle was a 10 minute walk away and an amazing hike. Would I recommend Liz’s cottage, absolutely!!

This might be the first time I give 5 stars for an airbnb and it is absolutely well deserved. Julie and Johns place was beautiful, clean, quiet, and peaceful. The privacy and natural setting was well worth the price. The hosts were very thoughtful and had the placed stocked with all that you would need for a comfortable stay. The tall trees, sounds of birds, and animal sightings (eagles and deer) made it hard to want to leave! We truly loved our stay!

Had an amazing time. Didn’t want to leave and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!!

Kevan's home is thoughtfully decorated, cozy and comfortable. There is lots of seating, indoors and out making it a great place for our family to hang out together. The kitchen is fully equipped, and all appliances function well. The beds are comfortable and everyone slept well. The standout is the spectacular garden. A true oasis. Had a wonderful stay, our pups had a great time, just walked across the street and we were on the beach. The road in front is a dead end with more people walking on it than cars! Wonderful view out the bank of windows - even saw a Black Bear early one morning walk down the driveway. Place was well stocked and exactly what a rustic cottage should be.

Perfect couple's getaway spot on the Sunshine Coast! The cottage is beautiful - classic rustic design with all the modern amenities you would need. Steps away from the water on a smooth pebbled beach. We soaked up the peaceful sounds of nature and the sea from the porch every day. The property's landscaping is A+! We loved the gorgeous sunsets and dramatic tides (a novelty for Ontario folks!). If you want to feel connected to nature, while still being close enough to towns/Vancouver, this is the place to stay. We loved the easy access to magnificent mountainous hiking trails, and a boat tour out of Egmont (Princess Louisa Inlet is a must-see!). Every night wrapped with a sleep in verrry comfy bed, looking at the stars through the skylight. Stunning! Sue & Gil were fantastic hosts. Very responsive and helpful, and respectful of privacy on the property. We had such a wonderful stay in Halfmoon Bay! Can't wait to get back to this incredible region of BC.

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at Poirier Cove. The location is magnificent, right on the seafront. We saw eagles, seals, lots of small birds - even a hummingbird. There are lots of lovely provincial parks nearby with great walks. We particularly enjoyed walking on the Galloping Goose trail to the Todd Creek trestle bridge. Corinne was very helpful and friendly. The cottage was comfortable with huge windows looking over the sea to snow-capped mountains in the USA.

A Cozy Retreat in the Heart of Port Renfrew My stay at The French Girl's Lair was everything I hoped for and more. Nestled in a prime location, the cabin is the perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Port Renfrew, especially if you're into fishing. The proximity to the water made our daily fishing trips incredibly convenient. While we didn't get to enjoy the firepit due to the fire ban during our stay, I can imagine how perfect it would have been to sit out on the spacious deck in the evening, surrounded by nature. Even without the fire, the deck was a great place to unwind after a day of exploring, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The cabin itself is well-appointed and cozy, with all the amenities we needed to feel right at home. The kitchen was fully stocked, allowing us to prepare meals easily, and the living area was the perfect place to relax. The attention to detail in the cabin's design made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We stayed 3 nights at this beautiful place. June and David were incredibly flexible with check in when we knew we’d be on an early ferry. They were so generous and helpful when we needed some extra things for an event we were going to. Such Kind and friendly hosts. . We cook so the great kitchen was a joy. efficient and clean. We loved our getaway on Vancouver Island. The home was perfect. Great location and beautiful surroundings. The trees out the living room window made for a natural setting. Quiet, peaceful and beautifully decorated. Jennifer is a great host. We felt like this was a great choice. Mid Island with so much to do. We will be back.

Our brief stay at Connie's place was nothing short of perfect! Everything that we needed for a relaxing, comfortable stay was there; from the well-appointed decor and ambience to the peaceful setting of her home. The night sky full of stars and morning visits from deer we're a true bonus. We only spent a couple of nights, but we would gladly return for a longer stay.

This place is really special and exactly as it looks in the photos (but better in person!) We enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace in the mornings, and listening to the local birds in the trees that surround the cabin. The view from the terrace is really magnificent!! We also indulged in the wood fired hot tub to make the most out of the beautiful forest surroundings. This stay was really one to remember, and I'm already dreaming about coming back another time. The roadside parking space had plenty of room for one car, two vehicles would be a tight squeeze.

We found ourselves in town for a family service and Fiona was the utmost kind and supportive host we could have found. The space was absolutely perfect, spotless, serene, and comfortable. It was exactly as described and made a difficult trip much more easy, especially being by the beautiful ocean. We saw a ton of wildlife so the speed limits are absolutely necessary. Thank you Fiona, we will surely be back in the future.

We loved every minute of our stay. House was clean, comfy and cosy. Loved the outlook over the marina. Easy walk to eateries and shop. Highly recommend. Thanks for hosting us.

Larissa and Josh were the most wonderful hosts, some of the best I’ve ever encountered on my airbnb journeys. They were extra accommodating as we had our baby with us, and have a wonderful cafe as well where we tested some amazing treats. First time going to Galiano but if I go back that’s where I’m staying, the place was pristine, big and the views from the patio, living room and bedroom and stunning, you can ask all my IG likes and comments lol Thank you for a memorable weekend!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful lake-side cottage. The place is right on the lake with amazing views. The interior is super cozy, with comfy couches and beds. It's one of those places where you immediately feel at home. Our hosts were incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful. We would love to come again!

Stayed for a week and it felt like home away from home. Had everything we needed. Located in a quiet location with lots of hiking nearby. The cottage is bright, clean, roomy, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our dog was particularly fond of the sun room where she could watch the deer on their morning visits. We hope to be back!
