House holiday rentals in Church Stretton

We had a friend get together for the Easter weekend and we had the most amazing time. The house exceeded our expectations. The social areas were great and very spacious. There was loads to do at the house - swim, sauna, games room, books, relax etc. There were good walking routes listed with clear directions and the pub recommendations were spot on. Red kite were wonderful with communication and replied to messages almost instantly.

Such a lovely place to stay. We only booked for two nights and wish we had been there for longer. Lots of really interesting features (a suit of armour! A harp!) in a well stocked house. Very comfortable beds and sofas, beautiful views (we especially enjoyed all the bird nesting in the eaves), gorgeous interior, starry Dark Skies and nice hosts - what's not to love? Great parking. Wish we could have had a few more nights, to check out the pub just down the road.

Beautiful house in a lovely setting. As you'd expect, not a lot of entertainment immediately locally outside of the house other than walks (be warned footpaths are not maintained and impassible in places) but you don't book a place like this if you want hustle and bustle. Pool, hot tub and fire pit all great. Games room is in a separate building to the main house and so wasn't used as much as perhaps otherwise could have. Hosts are great and very welcoming, but they do live right next door which might not be everyone's cup of tea. It wasn't a big issue for us and we were left to our own devices. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Hosts very accommodating if required and good communication 👍

Spacious and comfortable house for our family of 6 during a rainy February half term. The main reason to rent this place was the pool and sauna which didn’t disappoint and was great for our kids. There is a builder’s merchant right next door to the house which isn’t obvious from the photos but was not a particular problem with respect to noise etc. Lots of great walks nearby - which we will have to rediscover in the future in better weather! Thanks to Phoebe and the owners for making us feel welcome and for being available and responsive to our questions.

Absolutely loved our stay, surroundings were so beautiful and peaceful! Monty the horse was so friendly and the hosts were great and flexible check in! Thank you, will definitely be back!

Even better than in the photos. Pool was a really nice touch for the babies. Internet did not work however, Danielle did make this clear to us prior to us arriving. This did not hinder our stay as we all had mobile service. Danielle was very friendly and welcoming and even came over to check if we had settled in ok and if there was anything else we needed from her.

A fantastic stay with everything we could possibly need. A beautiful sunny patio area and garden to enjoy all within an easy drive to the Snowdonian National Park.

Lovely little get away for us and the doggy. Nice to be away from a busy road, so peaceful and quiet.

We have just got home after a delightful weekend stay at the Granary hosted by Clare & Alex. We were in the area for the 'Springtime in Shropshire' orienteering weekend so arrived at the Granary after the first race in the evening. The directions were good and specific and we were able to get the keys out of the key safe and get straight in. The house was lovely, nicer than the pictures and equipped with everything we needed. Immaculate bathroom and lots of piping hot water. Although the weather was a little blustery we even got to sit outside for a little while on Sunday afternoon after the race before we went inside to cook dinner and relax in front of the TV. Overall, a lovely place to stay, we had a great weekend. Many thanks.

Fabulous location! We were travelling from South Australia and this residence did not disappoint. Clean, spacious and beautiful scenery. Very quiet place to relax and wind down. Loved the furry residents of the house, Carrot was a character. Lovely place shared by the hosts. Definitely recommend!

Had the most wonderful few days staying in this gorgeous property, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean we could quite happily have just chilled in the lovely garden but with the quaint market town of Shrewsbury a short walk along the canal path and the property ideally situated to visit the historic Iron Bridge and Ludlow (to name just a few) we ventured out to explore and weren’t disappointed. We will be back.

We only have one complaint ….. we wish we could have stayed longer!!! Fantastic place which is extremely well equipped. Ana, Ed and family were really welcoming, friendly and available for advice without being intrusive. Great place would recommend for a quiet get away and base to explore the area. Great walking from the doorstep. We hope to return👍

Wow! - what an absolute gem. The Old Stable was the most idyllic, relaxing place to stay. James made us feel so welcome and was so helpful, giving great local pub/restaurant recommendations. We also asked for recommendations for walks in the area, which James was very knowledgeable about. We had such a wonderful time and would highly recommend this lovely place. We will definitely be back.

The barn was a beautiful stay. The location is idyllic for a peaceful and relaxed stay. The grounds of the home are great for a wonder around and the sunsets from here were just stunning. The accommodation was spotless and the hosts Vicky and Ben were so welcoming.

Lovely property which served us well, with lots of lovely amenities and fab garden space. Very convenient for Ludlow and surrounding area. Although we’ve given this property (a well-deserved) 5 stars, it would be good to share a couple of things that might help future guests: - We didn’t really get a clear response regarding the parking when we messaged prior to booking. But luckily all was fine in the end and we did manage to squeeze 2 small cars in. - We presume that ‘Pass the keys’ is an agency that manages the property for the owners. As such, we felt we didn’t have quite the same ‘connection’ with our Air B and B hosts, but maybe that was our error for not picking up on this before booking. Didn’t impact our stay, but is just a personal preference.

Unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of this beautiful cottage due to illness, the five star review is for the host Wendy, her instructions were clear and consise regarding entry and arrival time, directions. When I messaged her to advise we wouldn't be coming, she was very kind and understanding. If we have occasion to visit Shrewsbury again, this cottage and host will be our first choice.

We loved our 3 weeks at Somerwood Farm - it is a beautiful stable conversion in a very peaceful area. Coming from Birmingham, waking to the cockerel and birdsong every morning was a delight! The views from the bedroom balcony look over Haughmond Hill which is lovely for a walk or run. The local Haughmond Pub and cycling cafe were good finds too. Shrewsbury is 12 mins away by car. Sarah is a wonderful host and has provided everything you could need, and the dogs are vey friendly. We felt at home immediately. Do not hesitate to book - you will love it!

Absolutely fantastic home and amazing hosts! The house is absolutely gorgeous and has everything you could ever need with such stunning surroundings! The hosts were brilliant, always responsive and happy to help! They gave fantastic recommendations for places to go locally and we're just all round perfect! The whole experience felt super easy and laid back and overall just the most amazing place to get some peace and quiet in the countryside! If Air B&B would let me give higher than 5* I would! 1000/10 will be coming back. Perfect experience all round!

Absolutely stunning place and the perfect choice for a relaxing and peaceful break with the baby and a dog! Had everything we needed and more! The views were amazing and we loved seeing the Alpacas and enjoying the hot tub in the evenings! Fantastic hosts and the welcome basket was such a lovely touch! ☺️ thank you!

A fantastic location, 10 minute walk into town where there is lots of cafes, restaurants & pubs. Couldn’t fault the area, quiet & peaceful with the river walk 2 minutes away. Fabulous, friendly & responsive host. We love visiting Shropshire & fly over 24 hours to visit. Would recommend highly!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful quiet location! Exactly as described with lots to do in the surrounding area within a short car journeys. This was the perfect place for a group reunion with plenty of room and amenities. We loved the big garden and views. Campbell was extremely responsive and provided a really helpful information pack prior to arrival- thank you :)

A lovely place to stay in a perfect location right in the middle of Ludlow. We felt really at home and comfortable as well as being stylish and interesting to stay in. Annie gave us loads of recommendations which were great and meant we had four really great days. Thanks so much.
