Family-friendly holiday rentals in Chesapeake and Ohio Canal

We had a lovely stay! The outdoor space was beautiful and the hot tub and deck were the perfect place to relax. Inside was comfortable and clean. The beds and furniture could probably be updated a bit but that didn’t make our stay less enjoyable. Peaceful to relax and close to Berkley Springs to enjoy the shops and restaurants.

Easy peasy, would stay again!

My husband and I stayed here right after we hot married and it was the most lovely experience! It was an absolute blast, I wouldn’t have changed a thing except I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Maud was so sweet and I loved having her as a host. Cannot recommend enough!

Brandon's place was absolutely perfect! We couldn't have asked for a cleaner or more comfortable space. The location was great and Brandon is an amazing host. We would definitely stay here again!

Natalie’s place was just like the pictures. Everything was clean and well stocked for our stay of 6 adults. The sunsets were beautiful from the dock and the kayaks were a definite bonus! We enjoyed time outside on the dock, deck, and in the hot tub! The beds were very comfortable and our stay was great!

Linda and Jay seemingly were put on this earth to be incredible hosts. Their hospitality is hands down the best I’ve ever experienced and only added value to this already cozy and comfortable home. They have a ton of recommendations for the area and decades of personal experience in this region. I look forward to future opportunities for our paths to cross!

Tucked-away pristine log-cabin with tasteful vintage charm in a peaceful bucolic setting. Spot a horse or two nearby and listen to the birdsong on the front porch swing while taking in the restful views. Terrific fire pit for conversations and s'mores... along with an outdoor shower (there is a clawfoot tub for use inside). A wonderful property! Would definitely return - especially because we did not get to hike around the extensive property and see the waterfall! Definitely recommend.

Had a great stay! I was visiting DC for the first time with my girlfriend, who is a DC native for Mother’s Day weekend. The place was affordable and clean, just like the photos, and had everything I needed; free parking, WiFi, and even some refreshments, which was a nice touch. The location was super convenient and close to a lot of spots I wanted to check out. The only minor issue was the dogs and family upstairs being a bit loud at times, but we understood since the hosts live above and that’s to be expected. Miguel was very helpful and friendly throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend—10/10!

Nestled in the Aurora Hills neighborhood of Arlington, you'll find a gem of a listing, far enough from the hustle and bustle of Pentagon and Crystal City but close enough to be there in mere minutes. Beyond that, this locale is close enough to the District that you can be at the Smithsonian and assorted museums in no time, and can easily access the Pier/Naval Yard with a simple transfer. As for the amenities of this location, it has everything you'd need for a short to moderate stay. The shower was incredibly hot, which I preferred. So, if you are looking for a place a bit out of the mix but close enough to be in it at a moment's notice, then please look no further than this great listing.

The apartment was bright and comfortable in a beautiful, residential neighborhood in Northwest DC. It was easy to park on the street in front of the house and get in, around and out of the city from there. It was also a nice walk to the metro. We were three in the apartment, it was very comfortable and we also enjoyed having the access to the backyard to relax and enjoy the shade and quiet. It was a great place to stay while we were visiting DC.

Big shoutout to Joel and his space! Joel welcomed us to the Airbnb, gave us crystal clear instructions on how to get in and out, and showered us with a ton of neighborhood recommendations. The space itself was a great reminder that not all modern AirBnbs need to be soulless gray boxes. We had a great time reveling in all the kitsch. Lots of communication and flexible checkin/checkout times were a bonus. Thanks Joel!

Overall a very nice place, I noticed other comments to mention noise from the upstairs unit, but it was unnoticeable and the quiet hours were respected so it was great for resting after a long day! The place is close to two metro stations, but although Maps recommended another one, we preferred using Columbia Heights. The area was very safe to walk around, we explored some of the local places and definitely recommend the Mount Desert Island Ice Cream place, best ice-cream in the neighborhood! Lexie was very nice, helpful and allowed us to drop off our bags a couple of hours earlier since we needed to get downtown to run errands. The place was very comfortable, just like the pictures and everything was great! Would definitely come back!

WOW. This was one of the most wonderful homes we’ve ever stayed in. Everything was clean, comfortable and accessible. Marissa was so helpful with recommendations, flexible check-in times so we could get my little one down for a nap, my three-year-old love the pool, dedicated playroom, toys, swing set and s’mores that were such a perfect gift from Marissa. My son asked if we could move there! My husband and I loved the kayaks and pond. We saw bunnies in the morning - it’s truly magical. It’s so private and just 2 mins away from town. We made so many memories and I can’t recommend staying at this property enough.

Our stay here was such a good time. The scenery, the seclusion, the comfortability of the cottage alone made it worth staying. Me and my wife initially booked for 3 nights but ended up wanting to extend for one more because we enjoyed our time so much. We still didn’t want to end up leaving. Mr. Alton made the process to extend super simple and easy for us. He was polite, responsive and was just a good host overall. Most definitely will be booking again in the future.

Calvin's place was exactly what we needed and much more. It was described accurately, yet exceeded expectations with tiny details. For example, there was not only coffee and tea available, but creamer in the fridge, too. We had a peaceful night sleep and a nice shower. I recommend this place to anyone needing a quiet space to work and stay in the area.

Our stay was fantastic! The location was SO close to everything and the walkability to some great restaurants was great! Greg was very informative and responsive and I def recommend taking advantage of the parking offered, well worth it in this busy neighborhood. This was the cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in, everything was well labled and the kitchen had everything you need to cook! The home and the the neighborhood were very charming and if you like unique stays, I'd def recommend checking it out! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Nathan has a lovely home—it feels like stepping back in time into one of old Washington’s charming houses. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with Nathan was excellent. The location is convenient, about a 25-minute walk to Capitol Hill. While the surrounding area could be better—the streets were a bit dirty—it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t affect our overall experience. We had a wonderful time in Washington, and staying at this house was definitely part of it. Thank you, Nathan!

We had a wonderful stay at Brenda’s place! The pool is amazing and the whole outdoor area is great. With the grill, chairs and tables, outdoor fire (two of them!) we had such a great weekend escape. Very quiet area, we didn’t see the hosts the whole time which made it feel private. They were so responsive and helpful all weekend. Wonderful stay and we will definitely be back!

The place was very nice, clean and quiet. The apartment is spacious and has anything you need in the kitchen. The linens are soft and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is also spacious and the shower incredible. There are good restaurants nearby, a gym in the building and the neighborhood is very interesting. Kenny is an incredible host always given us the support and attention we need. He sent us a basket of fruits as a gift.
