Family-friendly holiday rentals in Chard

Superb location for travelling out to places. Lots around the local area for kids (parks, waterfall etc). Sarah was amazing at getting back to us so quickly whenever we had a question. Very thoughtful and caring. House was amazing with so many games and activities for all ages. The hot tub was a real asset for us but totally understand why this will not be at the property post December. We had so much fun and loved our stay. Would definitely return if we visited the area again.

We had such a lovely stay at the Potting Shed. The location was beautiful- so peaceful and picturesque. The Airbnb was cosy and the bed was extremely comfy. We were there in 30 degree heat but it was lovely and cool inside. Would highly recommend and would love to come back one day and stay again!

Amazing stay here with my husband. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing and quiet weekend. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch and everything was as described in the listing. Joy is a brilliant host checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly! Would definitely stay again!!

What an amazing place! We loved the wood burner and all the possible activities: hot tub, heated swimming pool, tennis, table tennis, crash mat, kayak, trampoline , horses, goats, chickens, and much more! it's the perfect place for a holiday with the family, the whole estate is a destination in itself.

Fantastic weekend with the family to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversay. The house had everything we needed and kept the children entertained. Cath was really lovely and even baked us a cake for our stay which was very thoughtful. The view from the property was a highlight and we would definitely stay again.

We've just returned from another wonderful stay at this property in Long Sutton. As returning guests, we were delighted to find it just as perfect as we remembered. The location is stunning, offering peace and tranquility, and the property itself is immaculate. This time, we particularly enjoyed the pool and sauna – a real treat! We can't wait to return. A homely and clean accomodation on beautiful settings on a farm, reminding us of memories of staying on farms in our childhood. Approximatley 30 mins from Weymouth where we carried out our bucket list - a visit to Durdle Door by boat, attendning the festival, swimming in the sea, going on the big wheel, eating delicious meals and relaxing in beautiful harbour settings. And where we could return from our days out to relax in our wonderful accomodation, sit in the garden, with a barley field backed on to us, listen to the cows in nearby fields and relax in the hot tub! Spending time together away from the hustle and bustle of life. Our host Jane made us feel very welcome, providing us with helpful information and was at the end of a phone or text if we needed any additional help. Thank you Jane - we made precious memories during our stay

Thyme cottage was such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The cottage is characterful and comfortable and well equipped. The fireplace was a wonderful, warm touch. The village of Woodbury Salterton is charming and friendly and close to Exeter. The Diggers Rest is a must! Stop in for a friendly pint or even better for a meal. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Thyme cottage will be among our top stays.

Absolutely fabulous! The location was perfect, the accommodation was spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything you could think of and the patio was a lovely area to sit in and appreciate the view of the conservation area and sea. Joy was very friendly and welcoming, we appreciated the personal touches she had provided throughout the accommodation, as well as the very generous welcome basket. In fact we enjoyed our stay so much that we ate in most evenings rather than venture into Weymouth!

What a fabulous stay, couldn't have asked for better. Such a tranquil village and the cottage was idyllic, hearing the birds and church bells and nothing more. Just what we needed. The garden was perfect for our little girl and the dog to play football and had all you need to eat nicely alfresco, as the kitchen opens out. The pub is quite something, a truly quaint village pub and we had a lovely meal there one night. Def recommend. Alison was a lovely and helpful host and had all the information we needed. Thank you for letting us stay to unwind, we will be back. Just wonderful!

We had a wonderful time in Woodpeckers Rest at the Brookside Farm. The very vision of verdant peace. It was a great launching pad for adventures all along the Jurassic Coast and throughout Dorset. Thanks to Charlotte for being so communicative and welcoming!

The guest cottage was exactly as described. A lovely 'home from home' with some beautiful little touches that made it a special place to stay. The cottage and garden were peaceful and private and secure for our dogs. Maxine has thoughtfully laid on so many amenities in the cottage, it just made our stay so much more enjoyable. Sidbury is a small village with a convenience store/butchers and a pub, The Red Lion. Both are within a few minutes walk of the cottage. The Red Lion was super friendly with good beer and food. An excellent host and place to stay.

This is our first Airbnb stay, also our first stay taking our dog. Having read and turned down a number of other Airbnb places the ducks wing seemed to fit the bill (no pun intended). The garden is lovely and secure, the rooms are extremely quirky which we both liked, our dog loved it. We didn't make best use of the many facilities including the pool, BBQ etc. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden listening to the countryside. As I've said our first experience with Airbnb but we were very impressed.

Lyn and David are the most wonderful hosts! David build the home from the ground up and it is very beautiful! We loved how homely it felt, comfortable beds, views that are out of this world and a really peaceful place to be! We can’t thank you both enough for allowing us to share your slice of Mendip Hills beauty!! Lyn left some homemade scones which were to die for! We have to revisit as we didn’t explore all the amazing walks and Wells in more detail , and would not think twice to stay again. PS there is a beautiful little shepherds hut nearby with the same amazing views also built by David (Lyn said because he was bored!) Hopefully David remains bored, we look forward to his next amazing space/s. We highly recommend you visit!

Really lovely cosy studio. Great space, comfortable bed, very well equipped kitchen. Fantastic to have bread, butter and eggs provided to make up a breakfast. George was very easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Only negative was noise of passing traffic as house is next to a road.

Private & peaceful location, beautiful surroundings and friendly hosts. Great experience overall👍

I stayed at Katka’s place with my 2 sisters and 2 cousins for the weekend. Katka gave us a tour of the accommodation on arrival and explained some simple rules on using the pool-spa which were very helpful . We had an absolutely fantastic time here , her place was very nice, clean and spacious for 5 people. We really enjoyed the pool-spa area , taking the covers off was a real giggle and putting them back we laughed more, so be careful. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the sea front , where we found lots of cafes . We had an evening meal at The Crab Shack which was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was really lovely and sitting looking out at the sea was a bonus. Thank you Katka for making us feel welcome, oh yeah and thank you for the cakes on our arrival, delicious 😋 Will definitely recommend your accommodation to other people and look forward to to seeing you in the future Kind regards Jane & family 🤗

Our family loved staying at the condo. Jacqui & Tony were extremely accommodating and answered all our questions in a speedy manner. The pool is a very nice touch to the air bnb. We used it once as the weather was very nice whilst we were there but definitely would’ve used more if the weather hadn’t been as good. Thanks Jacqui & Tony

The host, Julie, was really helpful and responsive to our messages. Beautiful surroundings and the views from the chalet were incredible. We were visiting old friends and neighbours and it was an excellent base. The walk down into Shaldon along the golf course was convenient and stunning but be prepared for the walk back up!! The chalet had everything we needed and was really nicely decorated with comfy sofas and beds. Wish we were there longer and would love to go back.

This is our second time staying in this lovely caravan. It’s always pristine and lovely. I always felt like a home away from home there. The bedrooms are a good size and the extra full bathroom is a definite plus! I’d highly recommend staying here.

Had a great weekend over Easter at Jan’s place - a beautiful garden - the kids loved the trampoline and pool - we cooked BBQ outside our Accomodation kin the peaceful garden - had great fish and chips and a cider in Watchet - the nearest harbour town (10 min drive) - we also visited from the house; quantock hills (15 min drive) killer beach (15 min drive) minehead (40 mins) and linmouth - beautiful drive over Exmoor. Would definitely come back

Emily has a lovely caravan in a quiet spot on an otherwise busy site. The caravan felt surprisingly spacious and it was great to have that second toilet available. It was also lovely and very convenient to have the shower. The site offers a lot for families with several play areas, crazy golf and swimming pools.

Amazing stay! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. Great location and super easy check-in. The host was friendly and responsive—would definitely book again!
