Cottage holiday rentals in Cayton Bay

We had a fantastic stay at Tim’s place! The location was perfect – just around the corner from local amenities and right in the heart of town. It was also only about 10 minutes to the forest and around 30 minutes to Whitby, which made day trips really easy. The hot tub was spotless and ready to use as soon as we arrived, and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of Prosecco – such a thoughtful touch. Tim was an incredibly responsive and understanding host throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back in the future

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

We had a fantastic stay here for 4 nights. It was beautifully clean and had everything and more we needed. Such lovely hosts, very responsive should you need them. Great location! Such an easy drive to a lot of places. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Pickering, Thornton Le Dale and more! All under 1 hours drive away. Cottage is so homely and very welcoming 😊 Amazing that each room has their own en-suite. Beds are so comfy! Downstairs bedroom was great for us with someone in the party having mobility issues. Games room is a fabulous touch! Sauna and hot tub both very clean. Highly recommend to stay here. Thanks for a wonderful stay 🥰

Lovely cottage in a great location. Walking the surrounding area from the house was great and very near to a pub and tearoom which both served great food. The hot tub was an added bonus!

Lovely relaxing cottage with everything we needed. Very cosy and relaxing setting with great views from back windows. Enclosed garden for dog or children. Hot tub was a great perk which was well used by us. Rillington village within 10 min walk which had a small shop and a nice pub ( the fleece). Tips for other travellers The fleece in rillington has a nice garden of weather nice and the food was nice too and dog friendly Ham and cheese which is a 5 minute drive the food was very good and dog friendly too although probably too far to walk Lots of walks nearby, we went to dalby Forrest, mallyham spout in goathland and Levisham near Pickering New Connie’s Chinese in malton was also very good

We had the most beautiful stay — the cottage was peaceful, private, and instantly felt like home. Everything was spotless and smelt amazing, with such a lovely, calming vibe throughout. The decor was gorgeous, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect finishing touch for a truly relaxing weekend. The hosts went above and beyond with thoughtful details like fresh eggs in the morning and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. Communication was smooth and friendly from start to finish. You can really feel the care and effort put into every part of the stay. I’d absolutely recommend this place — it’s a little gem, and I’d love to return!

Idyllic, just what we needed, quiet, private setting, weather a bit ..... but that's to be expected that far north. Private field for our dog to explore, outside space to relax. Host very good too, popped in to say hello and check all was ok then left us to it but was on site so if we did need anything. would recommend and if we head north again would defo stay again.

A perfect spot for a calm, away from it stay for us. Felt at home straight away, slept brilliantly and so handy for delightful walks to and from the village pubs. Monty our dog felt the same! Lovely, quiet cottage just outside Skipsea. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 small dogs. Very clean and tidy. Well equipped and comfortable. Andrew provided clear instructions and was very responsive. Because we have elderly dogs we could have done with the outside area being more directly accessible, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment or the dogs! thank you

Had a lovely stay at Rachael’s , just what was needed , took our little dog which was great , he had his first day at the seaside just 35 mins to the coast Clean and tidy , everything you could need although we ate out you could cook a meal , 2 minutes walk to shops , pubs and cafes , and the church on the door step is stunning . A very comfortable Huge bed too Bonus as we left Monday is market day lots of lovely fresh foods to bring home

Bruce made me feel welcome right from the start with a welcome notice in chalk in the barrel outside the barn. The place exactly matches the description, it’s unique and fascinating with all the artefacts mixed in with all the practical features. It’s warm, clean, functional and fun. Bruce left us a tray with some really generous foods, bacon, eggs, butter, chocolate and delicious cheese. Thank you Bruce, that was really kind and thoughtful.

What a lovely cosy cottage, small but perfect for the 2 of us plus dog. Very dog friendly and totally secure. Very clean and well equipped with good wifi. The locals are a little precious about "their" parking spots but that was easily overcome. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing break.

Had a fantastic time at the Bay in Filey. This house is superb as we were a family of 6. It is in a great setting right near the beach with everything you need for a quiet family break. Sarah was a fantastic host giving us clear communication. The house is spotless and clean and has lots of amenities. Would highly recommended this property.

The cottage was lovely, very well presented and homely. Private and quiet too. Sheryl was great with her communication and we found the guide book in the house very helpful. We would definately book again.

This was our second stay at the property and it was just as brilliant as our first. Plenty to do within driving distance and a lovely local area to go walking. The property is beautiful and our 5 year old boy loved it even more than last time.

Lovely stay. The only thing was the swimming pool needs modernising but the private access to the beach makes up for it. Nothing the owners can control.

Our stay at Jodie's was lovely. We didn't need to get in touch during our stay, but she was extremely responsive and helpful when we did reach out in the lead up to our trip. The apartment was impeccably clean and well equipped, and the welcome pack including some coffee, cookies, and cleaning materials was a really nice touch. The Bay site is well maintained and the facilities, especially the swimming pool, were clean, convenient, and easy to use. There is also a pub, restaurant, and pharmacy right on the doorstep of the property which is a definite bonus. The location is perfect with the beach only a short walk away and Filey and Scarborough just a 10/20 minute drive, respectively.

Great cottage in a quiet place, with beautiful surroundings just 5-10min by car! Perfect to explore Bempton Cliffs (wonderful landscape and hundreds of thousands of sea birds, including the very popular puffins, spotted during the Easter weekend) but also the Flamborough Head area. The cottage itself was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Great host too, who messaged us to allow early check-in and was very responsive to our messages during our stay!

Thank you for a lovely stay. Extremely tranquil and relaxing, very clean, not too expensive. The surrounding forest is breathtaking and the hosts extremely nice, we appreciate all the recommendations for activities in the area. Most importantly, couldn't imagine a better place to take our dog to. 10/10
