Great location! While watching the sun rise over the mountains, we spotted a herd of deer grazing in a field beyond the fence line. Our dogs absolutely loved it here! It’s safe to say, The Dairy Barn is now our new favorite stop. Tasteful decor throughout. Nice kitchen ware. Neat refrigerator with soft lighting, beautiful gas stove with clear directions. If you don’t feel like cooking, we Highly recommend Pizza Perfect on Main (7 minutes down the road). Excellent pepperoni twists & homemade ranch dressing. Well designed and functional space was great for an inter-generational family trip down to the Roanoke area! Evan was hyper responsive to any questions and had detailed recommendations and instructions for the house.

This place was amazing. House on a hill with vistas 360. Ezekiel could not have been more thoughtful when preparing the house. Completely stacked kitchen and not with cheap stuff- it was all high quality. Beds, furniture bathrooms were expertly done. My family had a wonderful time and getting to know Ezekiel was blessing to us. Wonderful host who truly cares. Pro tip- you are out there- bring what you need. Nothing is close and its totally worth it.

This place was perfect for my family including my husband and 2 daughters ages 15 and 12. I had come into Roanoke for my 25 year college reunion and wanted to be close to the Hollins campus. The house was less than five minutes from Hollins and also maybe a 10 minute drive from downtown.

What a great place to stay! Although the space is large (it's a former carriage house, after all), it still felt cozy and comfortable. The hosts have included meaningful touches to make the stay extra special (wine, snacks, high end cooking staples) and everything is organized and easy to find. Worth every penny. If you stay here: *make sure to visit the bakery - superb! *the inside stairs to the bedrooms are fairly steep; we used the outside ones in the back since our pup is old and gets nervous about stairs anyway - worked out great!

We stayed here with friends for a wedding and were conveniently close to the venue in Rocky Mount. Very clean house. Very comfortable to stay in.

Beautiful place. Gorgeous views when it’s not foggy 😊. Bed was extremely comfy. Great amenities. Well stocked with kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc. We had a little issue getting in and there was no cell service to call but a neighbor up the road told us a spot to get cell service to contact her. We saw a lot of deer and turkey. Great spot to rest before continuing our long ride home! Highly recommend 😊

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

This Airbnb is in an absolutely stunning location. We stayed here for my daughter‘s graduation from Virginia Tech and it’s a 30 minute drive from campus. It is down some windy mountain roads, but the views are spectacular. The apartment is exactly as described; everything was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.The host was super responsive and if we are ever back in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Keeping it Real! The condo was comfortable and clean and with a gorgeous lake front view. We had an extra request upon checking in and Reginald was very accommodating. I would stay again!

This place is heaven. My friend and I stayed in the cottage which had everything we needed. Check in and out were both simple. The property is gorgeous and the waterfall is accessible by foot or vehicle. Il also loved being able to bring my dog. Highly recommended and I hope to return in the future!

Great place, very large, very eclectic and so many outdoor options. Just a few min from trails and restaurants. Hosts were amazing and very communicative.

The house was well stocked with everything we could possibly need and then some! The view was gorgeous and the location was close to the main plaza. We got to enjoy tons of wildlife as we were greeted by many deer families each morning. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the neighbors were all very friendly. Lastly while not really a pro or con, it is worth mentioning for those with mobility or stability issues, that while the slope to the water is much more gentle than other local properties, it is still a little steep of an incline and the rock path can get slick if it rains. Just watch your step and go slow though and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful lake view from the dock!

We had a wonderful stay at David's place. It is really quite special and was a welcome retreat for us on our return home from a large gathering in Nashville. The views are spectacular, the setting idyllic, the hot tub pristine and welcoming and the home charming and well appointed. Just what we were looking for, only wish we'd had more than one day to enjoy it. We hope to return at some point! Thank you!!

We were amazed the pictures looked GREAT, but being there was the Best!! Easy assessable, 1 story, the massive king size bed was awesome! Location is perfect, It was PERFECT for our two small fur babies that absolutely loved the patio fenced in area!!! Also, seeing the doe eating in the backyard behind the fence area was a delight for us! The Diner in walking distance was fabulous, clean, friendly local staff and the owner was so friendly! Breakfast and lunch was spot on! We have been and used airBNB many years now truly THIS IS ONE OF THE Best Places!!!!! Thanks for sharing this BLESSING with US!

Great private stay on a beautiful working farm! Stay was amazing and views amazing. Very, very dog friendly place with hiking trails, horses, cows and privacy. Highly recommend! Owner very responsive, helpful and accommodating in all aspects.

Warren's place was great - very cozy, clean, & comfortable! Communication was good with the host & check-in was easy with a keypad. Only issue we had was that it was a little tricky to find. Warren sent directions, but the road is easy to overlook & we missed it the first time around!

House was as described in listing. Michael was great as a host. It was a work-week for me. Shower had good water pressure. Bed was comfortable. The Roku TV in both the bedroom and the living room was a bonus. House had supplies to cook with that should have what you would need for any basic meal. I setup my laptop at the dinning room table on one side to see out the windows while I worked in the evenings. AC was very good and kept the entire house pleasant. Parking was right by the guest entry area. The only con I have was the stairs to go up to the back porch entry (mainly if you have multiple items to bring in like I do), but for most people with a couple bags it would be easy. There is another door to use to unload/load in the front, if you parked temporarily on the side street. Overall, great stay for a week and would recommend to my friends (who are not pulling a boat or trailer). Perfect for a single person or a couple without kids.
