Dollarbeg Castle has a unique and interesting history, which made it all the more special staying there and branching out for our Stirling and Edinburgh trips before heading up into the highlands of Scotland. We really enjoyed the Great Hall outfitted with a suit of armor, thrones, and top notch appliances and specifications throughout. Hopefully the sections of the Castle behind scaffolding and the bare areas of the garden will be transformed when those peripheral projects are completed; but the Great Hall provides excellent accommodation and view, regardless. The hosts stocked the fridge with milk and butter, and provided toast as well. Such a generous and friendly touch, among the other details that made us feel somewhere between home and ROYALTY!

Great relaxing hideaway in a quirky canalside area

We have just returned home after spending 5 fabulous nights at Hayfield. We checked ourselves using the key safe and our host, Richard popped by about an hour later to greet us and pass on some very useful tips and to make sure we were happy with everything. It was lovely to be greeted personally and to know that Richard lived very close by if we had any problems. The bed was very comfortable and there was an abundance of hot water. I loved the induction hob ( have one at home) and the big fridge/freezer was fab. The use of the driveway and outside space was a real bonus. The garden at the back of the house is a real suntrap! Richard supplied us with a key for the garage to store our bikes and even came around and put them in there himself to make sure there was enough room for them. The Forth and Clyde Canal is less than a minutes walk away and the Kelpies about 1.5 miles. Lots of cycling opportunities straight out of the door too. We would be very, very happy to stay here again.

we stayed at Ernesto place for 3 days during May'25 and I am happy that I choose it to cover Edinburgh, Glasgow and other places, The place was located at convenient location with paid parking nearby and super stores to purchase essentials and do some shopping, Ernesto was helpful and friendly in providing information, the place was clean and beautiful from inside with all the amenity and much more , would love to come back again here , cheers

We had a quick stay at this lovely Airbnb and wished it could have been longer as it was so cool. The team handling the rental were very welcoming, informative and even had a separate e-guide of the property. You enter through the bottom level of the building where the 2 bedrooms are. The bathroom has a very unique entryway from the stairs leading up to the second floor containing the kitchen and living room. The entire place was very stylishly decorated. I really enjoyed looking at all the art and decor. Highly recommend!

This place has met our expactations. It was all clean and tidy. The beds were cosy. Bathroom has the electrical water heater which was heating a bit slow but it was enough for us. It will be for sure in my list for the next visit.
