one of the best and most peaceful places we have ever stayed! lovely location, beautiful garden, privacy and a great hotub! kitchen has everything you need to cook a nice dinner and the lodge itself is beautiful. we had a great time and even with some heavy rain it was great. don't expect to be connected to the outside world as phone and Internet is almost non-existent, but that is what is so relaxing about this place! Lovely location with beautiful views. Secure garden to allow dogs to run around freely, which mine loved. It was my first trip away with both of my dogs and I was a bit worried about it, but it was perfect. Hosts are very welcoming to dogs as well which made me feel more at ease. Hot tub was great. Lots of different areas in the garden to relax.

I dont think the photos do it justice with how nice this place was! There were so many finishing touches that made it feel like a spa retreat more than just a place to stay. The instructions on getting there were spot on and the host was so friendly and welcoming. We could have happily stayed for a month, shame we only had a weekend free 😊

Our stay at the cabin was nothing short of amazing. The space was cozy, clean, and had a lot of attractions—perfect for a peaceful getaway. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Their thoughtful touches and local recommendations really made a difference. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing retreat with truly perfect hosts!

A great place to stay - the lodge was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need. It’s super close to the beach, town centre and supermarkets, but also far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. It’s been a lovely couple of days and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. The restaurant on site is a bit naff, £95 for 4 mains and a drink each, fine if you just want a quick drink - that’s more our fault for not paying attention to Sarah’s recommendations though. Thank you for being a great host, we’ll hopefully be able to stay with you again soon!

Second time around for us! Loved it just as much as the first time! Hot tub was bliss… as were the lovely muffins left for us 👌🏼 Thankyou Sally for another wonderful stay!

From even before our stay we felt welcome and looked after. Everything was thought of and nothing too much trouble. Absolutely incredible host, incredible stay and we will be back! Thank you again for everything 🥰

Second time staying here, this time we bought the children! They absolutely loved it; especially the hot tub and the animals. Very peaceful and we was lucky to enjoy the garden in the sunshine!! We did have an unexpected visit from some dogs which startled the children as they’re scared of dogs but they swiftly moved on. Pam’s husband came to check everything was okay and couple of times which was nice apart from that was very private😊. Besides the animals we also found a lovely local park for the kids and purchased some homemade jam from a neighbour. Will most definitely look to book again in the future. X

Fantastic little spot in a beautiful valley. Very warm greeting from Tim when we arrived giving us some insight about the local access for walking. Great spot to escape - very quiet and calm location with very comfortable accommodation with everything you would need. Definitely be revisiting !

Very comfortable cabin, lovely views all around, pretty and large garden area, quiet, all facilities you require, wonderful walking nearby. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay, great location for exploring. Everything I needed, bed and soda super comfy, lovely spot to sit for a cuppa outside and great to see all the tees whilst lying in bed, a bit of forest bathing from the bed! Would recommend.

We had a lovely family stay at le shack and Danny was a great host and really responsive to messages and questions The accommodation was really clean , well equipped and comfortable. The surrounding areas were beautiful and Cawsands and Kingsands were lovely for sea swimming Would definitely go again! Thank you 😀

We had an absolutely wonderful stay ! Everything is as seen in the photos clean and tidy. Everything you may need provided , lots of small touches that made you feel at home! Both dean and Michelle were very welcoming and happy to help , easy to communicate with ! The lodge is beautiful inside and out and perfect for dogs we hope to return with our soon ! Overall a fantastic stay

Absolutely fantastic little gem! Had our first holiday with the dog and we loved it! Enough space for the 3 of us for 2 days, the garden was stunning to explore & it was secluded and quiet! Was lovely to meet Mike’s dog & the cows next door came to say hello also. Wonderful little touches such as the chocolate on pillows, the ham, cheese, jam, milk & orange juice alongside the pasties just shows you don’t need to bring your own! Well thought out and such a relaxing weekend away! Defo would visit again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cabin and would recommend it to anyone. Lovely peaceful location with lots to do within a half hour drive. Loved the attention to detail and the welcome hamper was much appreciated after a long drive! Amanda had recommended a few places to try out and we very much agree that Porthtowan is a beautiful beach to visit. Thank you very much for a great holiday

We had a wonderful stay over new year at the cabin. It’s excellently located, near Dartmoor and loads of walks, and is really easy to find and access using Lucia’s instructions. The interior of the cabin is beautifully decorated and it’s a really peaceful setting for a getaway. The cabin is kept exceptionally clean, all the soft furnishings are hypo-allergenic (my partner has terrible allergies and has never breathed so easily). Everything about the place is so well thought out, it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks we’ve had. We will definitely be coming back!

We had a beautiful stay this weekend at Gills lodge, it is in a peaceful location and has lovely attention to detail inside with everything you could need and more! Bude is a short drive away, with lovely bars & restaurants, along with nice coastal walks! Highly recommend <3

My expectations was blown out of water for where I was staying. Everything was clean, and perfectly organised to make the place feel cozy. With the lovely view it of the sea and even lovelier company with Val (if you wanted to grab a chat) I would highly recommend this place anyone looking for a solo trip to Looe. The town was just a short walk away with a breath taking view and even a few recommendations from Val of where to go and what to see. I will be definitely be coming back in the future as my experience was heavenly.

We had a wonderful stay at Porthilly Lodge! The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the cabin had everything we needed. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful when we needed help with the hot tub, going out of their way to assist us quickly and kindly. The nearby little beach was lovely for an evening stroll, and for those looking for a longer outing, the walk to the ferry and a day in Padstow is well worth it. We’d happily recommend staying here, and we’ve already talked about coming back!

Wonderful place to stay with my family. The toys, games and park were great for my children. Cathy and Steve were really helpful with our later than planned check in and a little issue with our chalet key. thank you. Great location for hitting various Cornwall hot spots as well as the quieter, lesser known places. Would definitely stay again.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had. The view was incredible and the hot tub was amazing! If you’re lucky enough to have the chance to book this place, I’d 100% recommend. The place is situated in a wonderful location where it is surrounded by farms. If you are planning for a retreat, this is the right place. But if you are scared about being alone in a quiet and private place, don't go for it. But the hosts make atmost all the necessary arrangements to make sure we don't feel alone, the other houses are not too far and also not too close, they are evenly spaced. The Hot water tub facility they provided was amazing and it was one of the best experience.

We loved staying here, it was nice and clean, peaceful but also close enough to Bude so we could walk and not worry about driving!
