Holiday rentals with a kayak in Blue Ridge Mountains

Enjoyed our stay at this lovely lake house. Great for families, bbqing, and fishing. I personally really enjoyed the hammock by the lake and how beautifully decorated the home is. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

This place was amazing. The views from the rooms were fantastic. The overall aesthetic was great. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. The A frame was everything we expected. What did surprise us was how there was no noise from the bathroom. With the A Frame and the bedroom ceiling walls being open we fully expected to hear water, the toilet or something when someone was in the bathroom but there was none, which was a very welcoming, pleasant and needed surprise lol.

Hardystone lake house is stunning both inside and out! Our family of six (4 boys , 2 parents ) had plenty of space and there was something for everyone. We loved that there were enough kayaks for all of us to use and the putting green was a big hit. It also had beautiful views from both decks and the double decker dock! This home was extremely clean, The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything you need if you prefer to cook like we do. We hope to be back! Tiny flying bugs would surround the doors at night so be quick opening/closing doors!

We enjoyed a relaxing 3 night stay in Bobby and Dina’s beautiful, river house and they were the perfect hosts! They were very responsive to questions and even offered area suggestions including a wonderful local butcher, for our BBQ night on the deck, listening to the peaceful sounds of the river. This home had everything we needed to prepare meals, very clean and tastefully decorated. We highly recommend this home for your trip to the Murphy area and would love to return when we have more time to fish & kayak!

This home was beautiful, with a beautiful view. We really enjoyed our stayed here. The house had all the essentials needed. Paul also has a binder put together of all the local things to do or places to go. It was very helpful. The dock is a quick drive down the road (2 mins). We had very spotty service in the area but we didn’t mind.

Staying at the Blue Heron Hideaway checked all the boxes for what we were looking for! It was very relaxing, comfortable, spacious and very beautiful throughout. We were so excited that it was just steps away from its own wide sandy beach with kayaks, a canoe, a paddle board and a fun floating dock, allowing our whole family to be together on the lake at same time! We had so many places to relax and enjoy being together, including a large hammock, a fire pit, and lots of big Adirondack chairs all in a row on the beach. Daniel, our host, was very quick to get back with us on any questions we had and very responsive to help and follow up to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for! And it was! It was hard to leave this beautiful home and setting but we are hopeful to enjoy it again soon!

From the private dock and boat landing to the kayaks, bonfire pit, and hot tub, you can truly enjoy the lake in comfort and style. Chimene's house was absolutely AWESOME! She has done a supreme job of selecting the decor and made it feel very homely! It's roughly 8-10 minutes from Bristol Motor Speedway, and about the same to various restaurants, grocery stores, gas, and anything we could have possibly needed during our stay! she thought of everything, including lots of really nice towels in the bathroom, mattresses and bedding, and the kitchen is fully equipped as well! It's really welcoming to drive onto the property and see a bunch of goats and a couple of super sweet dogs that were more like huge Teddy Bears! The country setting is awesome and privacy is perfect! The couch was perfect to watch TV from and the whole place was very clean! We highly recommend Chmene's place! It deserves a 6 star rating it they offered it! Thanks, Jeff and Jennifer!

We absolutely loved staying here for our weekend getaway. The lake was beautiful to wake up to! The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of walking around. It was so peaceful. Great little house! Would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the wineries and great food in Lexington (15min drive).

We spent Easter weekend here. As we drove in the wild azaleas and dogwoods were blooming, and everything afterwards was just as beautiful and peaceful. My teenagers loved kayaking and my daughter liked the pond so well she slept on the daybed on the porch. I appreciated the feather pillows and reverse osmosis water. Attention has been paid to every detail. I called my Nana to show her the antique desks. My small children enjoyed the toys and my middle son using the pully bucket on the porch. My daughter celebrated a birthday over our stay, more movie guests showed up than expected and I just couldn't turn these kids away. Our hosts were so kind. They of course charged a little extra as was clearly understood via the contract, they were very understanding and polite. The lock to the boat seems to be jamed, the downstairs fireplace is currently non operational, and I'm not sure I'll get back a thumb drive I forgot, but this family has worked hard to create really special place. We loved our stay at The Cottage! The home is rich with history, is so charming, inviting and so relaxing. The bikes and kayaks are a huge plus! Everything was great! We hope to return later in the year! Highly recommend!

We absolutely LOVED this cottage on the lake! The view was beautiful, and the kids caught a lot of fish off of the dock! It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it had everything we needed. Jack was a great host. Very responsive and hospitable. Already talking about when we can come back!

A beautiful location, right on the Watauga river. A very peaceful and serene environment. My family and I loved staying here and my 3 yr old son especially loved seeing the geese and playing in the river. The house is older construction, but very charming. It has been updated beautifully for modern day comfort. The host was very accommodating. The hot tub was very clean and very relaxing. We would love to stay here again.

Debbie's lakeside retreat was a beautiful home away from home. It was the perfect size for 1-2 people and very well stocked (cooking essentials, grilling supplies, kayaking things, shampoo/conditioner, etc.). We LOVED having access to the lake and hanging out at the water. The area was very quiet and super relaxing. Also, the year round Christmas tree made me feel super cozy. Top tier air bnb.

We had a quick stay for camp drop off. Very comfortable home and beds. Clear instructions for getting there and staying.

We LOVED our stay. Perfect location! You felt like you were worlds away but were actually close to everything. Easy to get to (a little bumpy on the dirt road leading to it), close to everything, and the best layout. The house had everything we needed and more. Can’t wait to come back!

This place is a gem. We loved the peaceful atmosphere on the lake and played lots of board games and cooked a ton in their amazing kitchen. Their coffee game is on point with multiple ways to brew. Highly recommend this spot.

One of my favorite vacation rentals. Stocked with all the things to make a great vacation. Plenty of seasonings for cooking. The boats and fishing poles and board games make family time at the house fun! Made s’mores in the evenings. About an hour from Cade’s cove. 35 minutes to Townsend where there are restaurants and a small grocery store. Stopped by Walmart in maryville to get groceries on the way from Nashville airport.

This cabin was a great find. We stayed here for the weekend and it didn’t disappoint. Private lot, play structure for kids and even some toys for them to play with. I will say that I do recommend taking a truck or suv. The road to the cabin is a little bumpy and unpaved but we had no trouble getting to the cabin. We would definitely stay again if we travel back to Ellijay!

Arriving at this Janice and Tom’s cabin, our jaws were on the floor. The cabin itself is gorgeous, surrounded by nature and with a wrap around porch to enjoy the sounds of the river and watch fireflies light up at dusk. The pool and pool house are where we spent most of our time. With lounge chairs, a fridge for snacks and drinks and views of the pond and forest, it was a great place to spend our days and cool off. Janice and Tom were communicative, helpful and kind! We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend to those looking for a break from the hustle and bustle. It was an incredible place to reconnect with friends and with nature. Thank you so much Janice and Tom!!

This house and property is beautiful! We had such an amazing weekend. We love about an hour away and wanted to get away to the lake for our anniversary. Carolyn’s place did not disappoint! From the cozy beds and linens to the fully stocked kitchen and everything in between we felt truly at home. The space is open and airy and feels like you belong. The hosts have thought of it all. We spent 90% of our time outside on the deck or on the dock. It rained a good amount of the time but we still had a blast because the deck is fully covered. So much wildlife!! There’s a baby snapping turtle that lives in the yard and on the dock and deer were everywhere. The kayaks were a lot of fun too! This definitely won’t be our last visit here!

Our stay at Hat Creek Camp was short but exceptional. I wondered if we would have enough to do outside of wind down, which was our primary goal. I had no phone service on my apple which was fine with me. My husband’s Samsung had a signal, go figure. We were there to disconnect and let our dog run free. I’ve never seen her so happy, jumping in the lake and stream. Time flew walking the trails, being on the lake, barbecuing and just sitting by the fire pit. I thought we’d need cards but there was no time. The cabin was small but clean. There was nothing that we needed that wasn’t supplied. I wondered why past reviewers mentioned the bed but it was comfy enough to mention. My dog cried after we were gone 10 minutes on our way home. Thought she needed to potty but after a break and 3 hrs home she never went. I think she was missing camp and didn’t want to leave. I know we didn’t.

This place is a hidden gem! This off the beaten path riverfront treehouse-feeling cabin has every modern amenity you could need. The beds were extremely comfortable, linens and towels soft and cozy, and the kitchen very well stocked. The kids room and loft area is a real treasure and made the littles feel right at home. The decor is just right and blends well with all of the natural light and natural scenery that is present from every window. Dana was extremely responsive to questions and all of the check in and out instructions were clearly communicated. Highly recommend!
