The cablecar-station, a grocery store as well as one of the skiing slopes are both reachable within a 5-7 minute walk on foot.

Gadestatt is a traditional Maiensäss. A Maiensäss is a cultural peculiarity of Swiss history. These simple but beautiful wooden buildings used to be inhabited on the Alps during the summer. From here the cows were guarded and cheese was made from fresh milk. Gadestatt offers you an authentic overnight accommodation with lots of charm and attention to detail. In a top panoramic location, we rent a furnished 3-room apartment in a 300-year-old chalet. The chalet is located in the idyllic Valais village of Ried-Mörel 1200 meters above sea level. The gondola to the Riederalp is a 2-minute walk away, where you are in the middle of the ski resort or hiking area. The access to the chalet is accessible all year round. The bathroom was completely renovated in the spring of 2024.

Niedergesteln is 10 km west of Visp. In the castle community from the 11th century, you feel like you are in the Middle Ages. The knight village is an ideal starting point to discover and enjoy Upper Valais on hikes, bike or ski tours.
