Family-friendly holiday rentals in Barranca

We absolutely loved this place. It is well maintained and has everything you need. It feels like home. The woodwork in the house is so beautiful. The property is gorgeous and has trails to explore. Carolina and Manuel arranged to get some specially requested food for our stay. They had the food there for our arrival which was so helpful. Manuel took us on an awesome night hike. Carolina’s husband also gave us a tour of the property too. Carolina and her family really go out of their way to make this a welcoming place. They grow amazing coffee on the property which we really enjoyed. They also shared their garden veggies and the bananas. We stayed 4 days and wished we had stayed longer. We found it easy to go into Monteverde for activities like coffee tours, cloud forest, animal sanctuary el Tigre waterfall, etc. There are some great restaurants close by the house and of course in monteverde too. We enjoyed ordering homemade empanadas from cafe Horizonte for breakfast.

The property was beautiful and the views are incredible. Really enjoyed doing some yoga on the deck!

Great place to stay loved the hot tub and the view

Guillermo's place was very comfortable and clean. There was AC in both bedrooms and the living room. We did not get to go to the pool since we stayed one night stay only. He gave clear check in instructions that were easy to follow. I like that it is inside a private area and it was very quiet. I would recommend his place to others.

Three of us stayed at Wanderlust to celebrate the upcoming wedding of a friend. Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Highlights of the accommodations were the incredibly comfortable beds, the peaceful atmosphere and the fantastic hot tub. What really makes this place stand out is Jai. Jai could not have done more to make our stay a magical occasion. She provided us with impeccable food and drink recommendations, connected us with local, trustworthy transportation and bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect. Jai really is a special treat. We all hope to be back someday.

Randall was the perfect host. We requested early check in because of an engagement we needed to attend early in the day and he worked with us. We would highly recommend his home. Perfect experience for the first time at Costa Rica.

Another great stay at this apartment in Escazú! Everything was perfect, as always. The place is spotless, well located, and the hosts are incredibly responsive and helpful — super quick to reply and always ready to assist. Definitely a 5-star experience, highly recommended!

We ( family with 2 children , 6 & 3 years old) felt very comfortable on the Fidelito Ranche. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, feeding and showering the dogs, as well as the great horseback riding trip with Leon. We really appreciated the quiet location, but were also able to get to the larger cities quickly.

The place was immaculately clean, well equipped and exactly as shown in the photos. The location was excellent, quiet and safe, ideal for resting and at the same time close to everything you need. The host was very kind and attentive from the start, always available to answer any questions. Maricel’s place was exactly as described. A great place to land flying into San Jose; Uber from the airport very inexpensive. Communication very easy and Maricel is very responsive and helpful. We did forget to leave one set of keys and Maricel has been very kind and understanding to let us drop them off when we fly out.

highly recommended. The house comes with a private pool and everything you need to feel at home. private condominium, very safe. has independent bathrooms and airs all over the house. would definitely come back. The host arrives and explains everything very clear to you.

The Property keepers Jefferson and his mom were wonderful and kind! super sweet and always helpful. amazing fish tacos, recommend having them cook for you one night. soo good!! gorgeous property and so very enjoyable. felt it was prime location for things addy los suenos adventure park, Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos. Right in the middle with a relaxing place to go back to.

This was the absolute perfect home base to explore this part of Costa Rica. The house was stunning, exactly like photos and descriptions. Pool area was an unbeatable oasis and we did get lots of monkey visits! Comfortable beds, amazing bathrooms with great water temp and pressure, stocked kitchen and awesome patio space for meals and hangouts. Corner store literally at the end of our driveway was so convenient. Laura the concierge was amazing, so responsive, helpful friendly! I couldn’t be happier with the experience and will be recommending Matthew’s place to anyone I know visiting the area. I would absolutely stay here again and hope I’m able to return soon!

Everything was perfect! The location and the house all met our expectations. Danny & the team were always kind and approachable. When we found that wasps were building a nest at the house, the team was there within an hour and the issue was resolved immediately. The pool was clean and in the best condition. We had the best vacation and would be happy to come back!

Carlos and Val were great hosts! They had so many great recommendations for food and activities and helped with transportation. The place was beautiful as depicted in the pictures too. Very responsive if you needed to reach them.

Shawn is a great host, very communicative, helpful, and accommodating. It was a nice little condo; my wife and I love that complex. It is well kept up, in a good part of town and close to the beach. The guards and cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying and we will definitely be going back!

the apartment is located in a great area of San José within walking distance of a lot of great local places, restaurants, cafes, parks, and museums. The view is very nice, especially at night. Big cars might have a little trouble with the parking lot getting onto level 2, but you just have to be mindful of your approach and space.

We had a fantastic time staying at this mansion. The place was absolutely beautiful—spacious, clean, and incredibly well-equipped with everything we needed. The amenities were top-notch and made our stay super comfortable. Communication with Federico was excellent; he was always responsive and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Very comfortable, very spacious, well appointed and comfortable. A/C worked great without any problems. It's a steep walk down to the beach but also only a short distance, so no problem unless maybe if you have mobility issues. Nearest restaurant is not walkable. I brought my own food and the kitchen was well equipped and included everything needed. Internet was spotty, on-again, off-again. Tech equipment (cable, internet, wifi) worked ok when the internet was working but could use an upgrade as equipment is quite outdated. Instructions on how to get things working/re-started were a bit cryptic and referred to equipment which, I believe, had been replaced. Minor gripe - batteries in almost all remotes were dead and I had to replace. A great place for a peaceful stay away from daily noise, but also away from common amenities so plan accordingly. I'd recommend and will probably stay here again.
