Cottage holiday rentals in Barcelos

This house is in the most STUNNING location with AMAZING views. We arrived early hours and Tiago was more than helpful at this time. We were told of the house’s rich religious history which is reflected in the artwork and decor of the house. 7 of us stayed for 8 days 2 couples and 3 teens More than enough space for everyone to have their own privacy and more than enough room for 10 people. The grounds had fig, Apple and lemon trees which we were told we are more than welcome to use. Aldi and Lidl were a 15 minute drive (we rented a car) which was perfect for evening barbecues (huge wood oven outside as well as small grills) The pool was stunning, we spent most days in there from morning till night. It’s a great size and easy to shade with umbrellas if needed. We left our inflatables there for the next person, which someone had also done before we arrived, which was a nice touch. We can’t thank Tiago enough for an amazing 8days. Will defo visit again

This house was spacious and in a beautiful location, about 20 minutes from Ponte de Lima. It was a great place to stay, central to visiting the beach, the national park or the city. There were many things for our children to do at the house with the game tables, pool, hot tub, suana and padel court. The property is full of possibility and very beautiful. Jose and family checked us in and were kind and gracious and helpful with any questions that we had.

we were very nice the whole family a functional cute house the house owners live on and if you need them don't hesitate to help.te had the detail of leaving in the fridge a bottle of water and wine. if we ever come back in the area from catalunya we will definitely go,a pleasure to enjoy their place both good you could have a house like this,thanks

Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

On the positive side, the place lived up to its description. Fatima was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience better. There were enough parking spaces for three cars. On the negative side, the hot water reservoir wasn't sufficient for ten people to take showers. As a result, some of us had to take cold showers every day. Additionally, the location is situated on narrow roads, making it challenging to reach by car.

We received a very warm welcome from Bartolo. Interesting, old apartment, part of a much larger farmhouse building. Antique furnishings and high ceilings give this Airbnb a very quaint feel, like going back in time. Plenty of blankets and hot water bottles for the unseasonable chilly nights on our arrival. We loved the ambience, the creative renovations which were being carried out whilst we were there, didn’t hinder our stay in any way. Beautiful views, animals in the grounds, wonderful kind people, made our trip very special. We took the train into glorious old Porto from Mindelo, leaving our hire car nearby. Do walk along the boardwalk in the nature reserve on the coast nearby. Characterful old villages and towns nearby for coffees and meals out. The Romantico drive along the Douro is a must, choose a dry day for the glorious views. We toured the old city and loved both sides of the river. Lots of musicians play there, it was a pleasure to lunch, listen and relax.

Gui has two houses for rent, in a nice, quiet, rural environment close to beautiful Ponte-de-Lima. She is very friendy and extremely helpful.

The place was just mega. The landlord always had an open ear for questions and also gave many tips.

The accommodation is as described. The house is well and sufficiently furnished. It has a private pool with a very nice porch area with shade areas and for sunbathing. Traffic passes close to the house, but it is not annoying, it is heard in the terrace area and porch but not in the house. We have been a couple with a baby and were quiet and at ease. Abel is a friendly and responsive host. She was available for our needs. Surely we will repeat, it is a highly recommended place with beautiful places to visit very close.

Perfect place for a quiet rural holiday. The house has a lot of charm mixing old with new. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate in every night. It has a large, pretty garden with citrus trees. It is within easy distance of many historical towns as well as a national park. We did not meet Céu but she responded very quickly to any requests we had. We would have no hesitation in staying there again.

We arrived at a simple beautiful unit, a quiet, clean place, lots of plants and a flap that gives a peaceful, calm and comfortable atmosphere, there is a common complex where there is a mini consumer, ping pong and snooker table, swings, hammocks, pool, and a mini ball court. Ana is very friendly and nice made us feel at home and good, helped us with recommendations and made sure to hear that everything was fine and we didn't miss anything. It was simply the best experience of our trip. Highly recommend! Great experience.

Best host ever! We have stayed at this place for 4 days and it has been amazing. Everything is super clean and charming. The pool is warm, so you can enjoy it even if it is cold outside. I truly recommend this Airbnb.

We had a wonderful few days at the house by the river. The location is very idyllic and the house blends perfectly with the countryside. It should be mentioned that the house was a bit damp upon arrival, but when you ventilate you no longer notice it. Also, we had a minor issue with the mosquitoes. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this place. It is wonderful to sit by the river and unwind. Right in front of the house there is also a very nice hiking trail. You will find everything you need in the accommodation. We especially enjoyed the barbecue by the river.

Beautiful place and accommodation, beyond our expectations, which we highly recommend. Satisfaction guaranteed, if you like nature and tranquility this is the place for you. The beaches and shops are close by, so you can have a pleasant stay.

We spent 10 days in Joana’s cottage. It was a lovely and quiet place with a great view and a beautiful big garden. We had everything that we needed. The communication with Joana went very well. If you like hiking it’s easy to get to Peneda-Geres National Park, with great routes and hopefully god weather. We recommend staying in Joana’s cottage.

We had a great stay at Manuel’s peaceful and idyllic place. The apartment has everything you need, the area is very relaxing and great for trips in that region, e.g. to Braga, Guimaraes. Thanks a lot and we hope to make it there one day again :)

We loved our stay so much that we didn’t use our car to go anywhere. We enjoyed the beautiful garden, the river and walking to the village. We so enjoyed the peace and quiet and the sound of the river and we wish we could have stayed for longer. Thank you Júlio and Patricia for being such thoughtful and welcoming hosts.

We spent a wonderful few days here. The garden has to be seen to be believed - it really is huge. The pool was lovely on very hot days. The house is very spacious and the kitchen is well-equipped. It took us a while to realise that the wall switches actually control the electric supply in small sections of the house, which meant we accidentally switched the wifi off for 24 hours (kids weren't happy!), then realised it is the corner wall switch that activates electric supply to the lounge seating area. The house has a cosy feel - although it's not modern, we felt the decor was in keeping. There is another holiday home next door but both have their own outdoor space so it still feels private. Ponte de Lima is idyllic. It is only a 10 minute walk, with lots of restaurants to choose from and shops to browse. Down the river bank there is kayak hire, and the unmissable International Garden Festival between May and September. At only 1 euro entry, I went twice! Would 100% return.
