House holiday rentals in Ballyshannon

We spent a beautiful week at Driney house. The children enjoyed the swimming pool, going out on the boats on the lake, paddle boarding as well as fishing on the lake. We played many other games (French billiards,tennis, badminton, darts, ping pong) all provided for us by the very welcoming hosts- Patrick and Caroline. All 11 of us (3 families) felt very comfortable in their cosy home, we explored the area and there was so much to do. It rained every day on our holiday (on and off) but this didn’t stop us to visit beautiful places and for all our children (10yrs-16yrs) to find something fun to do. It is such an idilic place and we would love to return one day.

Came to Ireland for a family vacation - 8 adults and a 1 year old. This was our third AirBnb on the trip and cannot say enough about how wonderful it was! So much history but with modern amenities. It was the best part of our trip. Went on many walks - over to the castle and to Harvey's Point stopping at the Famine Pot and seeing great views of the lake & farm animals along the way. Stayed three nights and used the pool/pond and sauna every day. The dining & living rooms were really spacious. We cooked all of our meals - the kitchen is a great set up with loads of dishes and anything you could need. The butcher in town had a great selection. Musical instruments were a huge bonus. It was quite warm for May so we didn't have a chance to have any fires - but the fireplaces would be wonderful for cool nights. There is also the 'wagon' which has a double bed, small kitchen and seating area and an adjacent full bathroom available. Rose was always a message away and super helpful. Loved it!

Our stay at River Cottage felt less like checking into an Airbnb and more like stepping into Anna and Luke’s thoughtfully curated retreat. Nestled beside a usually gentle stream, the cottage offered a rare kind of quiet. We found ourselves unwinding in ways we hadn’t expected. As if the place itself were helping us silence the usual rush of thoughts. The sauna and cold plunge, discreetly positioned at the water’s edge, added a touch of simple luxury. They blended seamlessly into the natural surroundings rather than standing out as flashy extras, even when lit up at night. We explored the surrounding area by car and found Sligo to be the perfect complement to the cottage’s peaceful seclusion. My wife and I already feel drawn back to this little slice of Ireland - eager for another chance to recharge in the calm that Anna and Luke have created. We’re also looking forward to seeing their next ideas come to life.

We had a wonderful time at Barbara's place! The space was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The attention to detail really stood out, everything from the cozy linens to the thoughtful little touches like extra towels and the selection of breakfast items, made our stay feel extra special. Barbara was extremely welcoming and responsive, making the check-in process smooth. I truly appreciated how thoughtful and accommodating she was throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy, convenient spot to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at David's Holiday Home on the Kilronan Castle Estate. The location proved convenient for day trips to Co. Donegal, Co. Galway, and especially Co. Sligo (which was one of our favorites!). The unit had everything we needed for our family of 4 (including 2 teens) to spread out and enjoy, prepare meals, and even do laundry (we stayed there during the middle of a multi-week trip to UK & Ireland.) Everything was as described in the place- and, importantly, the beds were comfortable. My family enjoyed exploring the castle grounds, while I (Sean's wife) splurged for a wonderful massage and Thermal Suite at the Spa. Hubby & I also enjoyed a Guinness in the castle Dungeon Bar a couple of nights during our stay. Check-in & other instructions were clear and easy to follow. David was prompt in following up with any questions we had. We would happily stay again and/ or recommend to others.

We had a wonderful stay at Denise’s lovely house. Extremely comfortable and cosy, and fantastic views. The house was spotless and had everything we needed to settle in straight away. The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of things to do, and Denise supplied some great recommendations — particularly a surf lesson with Surf’s Up on Dooey beach. We hope to be back again!

My family and I recently had a wonderful stay in wave's lodge Rossnowlagh. The lodge was very spacious, comfortable and clean with all mod cons. The outside area was just beautiful, we were lucky to have great weather so made full use of the great BBQ and patio area. The children loved the space outside and had hours of fun on the swing throughout our stay. The lodge is only a short distance from Rossnowlagh beach. Overall an amazing break and we would recommend the lodge to other families. We hope to return, as we loved Rosssnowlagh. Thank you Donna for our lovely stay at your beautiful Lodge.

We had a lovely short break at Edel’s home and it was truly wonderful. The house was thoughtfully equipped for families with young children which made for a very relaxing stay! The views were absolutely stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Edel was a responsive and attentive host, even sending us a thoughtful reminder to catch the beautiful sunset. Highly recommended!

Excellent stay at Jean's, the best rental in the area where I have been going for years. Ideally located between Ballyshannon for the Rory Gallagher festival and Donegal for family and friends. The house was better than in the photos and very well equipped, nothing was missing, and when I arrived I saw that Jean had done shopping for me, fridge filled, bread, cereals, everything needed for a first meal and breakfast. I regret not coming sooner, but I plan to return every year to this beautiful place.

the house was friendly and very quiet. The house is ideal for 2 parents and 2 children, as you cross one room to get to the other. Sinead was friendly and very helpful. We had a very good time and would definitly recommend the accomodation, thank you !

Sharon was a fantastic host, super responsive and no question or query was too much trouble. The house is lovely and clean with laid-out instructions for the broadband and heating. The view is brilliant stretching across from St John’s Point to Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Leitrim and Sligo (Benbulban). I would say on a good day you can see Mayo! There is a coffee pod around the corner and the beach is about a 3-minute drive towards Killybegs. We have a young family and Sharon made sure there was a travel cot available which was a great help for packing up the car for the long journey. I would recommend and I will be back to Largy!

Extremely clean house & met by very friendly host on arrival. Large, airy rooms & neat garden. Only very slight quibble is the locks on toilet/shower doors are sticky & advisable not to lock them otherwise everything else is perfect. Would stay there again, like a shot.

A lovely property for anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind. Lots of outdoor space to enjoy if the weather permits. Close to a lot of natural attractions. Liam was a very welcoming host and I highly recommend a stay here.

Beautiful private house close to Donegal!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kinlough. The house was absolutely pristine. Modern layout with all the amenities you could possibly need for a perfect break. The beds were all very comfortable which meant we all slept so very well! Sioned and Peter were both very responsive to any messages and very helpful with questions asked. We found loads to do in the area and would highly recommend the Chinese up the road for a great takeaway. We also enjoyed a few drinks in the Anglers Rest over the road. We would definitely return if we are back in the area at any point.

We had a great stay in Bundoran. The description and pictures of the house are equivalent to reality. The house is very complete and well equipped, especially for travelling with children. It is in a quiet neighbourhood but town centre is in walking distance, as is the beach. We loved the garden and to sit outside, when the sun came through. Beds and mattresses were very comfortable.

Thank you to Siobhan and family for another fab stay at The Hideaway. Great facilities, perfect for families and the most friendly and accommodating hosts. Can't wait to return next year.

We had the most amazing time at the artists cottage. The wildlife, the scenery, the wonderful people and the sheer tranquility exceeded our expectations. A beautiful place to stay to explore the best of Donegal! The house is super clean, incredibly comfortable and well equipped! Sonia was a wonderful host, quick to respond and answer any questions. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Our stay was incredible and peaceful! David recommended Elliott’s Bar and it was a wonderful place to meet the locals and drink a cold pint (or 5!) The views were incredible and David was very responsive. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.
