Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Akumal

Yep...the other reviewers were right. Amazing superhosts...easy to find and access...all listed amenities; aplenty. It sets you in (to the downtown area) easily. Later I will move elsewhere (larger) but it's great for 1-2 people. Unfortunately, I saw THREE dogs next door and my heart sank thinking the noise is going to just ruin it all. I gave it some time and for being 3 dogs they were NOT that bad; mostly quiet and just when I was going to mention it sometimes, they stopped. Fortunately (jinxproof), that person and the dogs moved anyways after ~2 weeks. It's actually pretty quiet around here mostly. Super cozy place. I'm using the bike a LOT. Unfortunately; the internet went out for an UNGODLY 6.7 days and I'm an online entrepreneur/nomad so it's like lifeblood. I know this was not the hosts fault whatsoever but they did their part AND after the main power grid for it was fixed at 6 days for neighbors, but this wasn't Francisco was a rockstar and hired someone to get on-site-Thx!

Casita Lumi was the perfect vacation getaway. It was private and peaceful, yet still close enough by car into town and to the beach. The private mini pool was by far the main highlight where we would unwind at the end of each day and take in all the beautiful surroundings. We communicated mostly with the co-hosts, Alexis and Cindy, which were both super protective, attentive, and responsive. Thank you for an excellent stay—would definitely recommend and come back!

We really loved our stay at Paco’s place! The house was absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed. The location was super convenient—everything was close by, and the neighborhood felt really safe and welcoming. Honestly, we felt right at home the whole time. Paco was a great host too. Would def stay here again

Nothing short of Amazing! We absolutely loved this Airbnb. We each had our own room which was a huge plus. Clean, exactly like the pictures. The host is extremely helpful, communication was A1. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

We had an amazing stay at Susan’s place in Tulum! The house was perfect for our large group of 12 - spacious enough for everyone to hang out together but also have their own private areas when needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to buy groceries and cook meals at home. The property felt very secure, and there was convenient parking for those who had cars. The on-site staff were incredibly helpful and responsive throughout our stay. A huge shoutout to Susan, who went above and beyond by helping me plan a dinner party for 21 people! Everything - from the food and staff to the location and DJ - was a total hit. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone visiting Tulum, especially if you're traveling with a group. We’ll definitely be back!

The house was nice and clean. But I feel like there was no one in the house before our stay. Because the house seemed like it hadn’t been aired out in about a week. The fridge must have been unplugged also. Because it took almost a day for it to get cold and keep our food cold. The pool also seemed like it was barely cleaned and maintained the day of our arrival. It was green until the pool chemicals worked a few days later and made it blue. The bedding and beds are somewhat outdated. And the towels and linens could be replaced also.

Excellent place, very comfortable, we were very happy! I wish the living and dining room had air conditioning! But other than that, we had a great time.

Jeff was a wonderful host. Very great at communicating and answering every question we had. His instructions were also very thorough and easy to understand. The inspire care takers Eric and his wife Paula were outstanding. Very polite and extremely hard working. The house is in a more remote area and offered us privacy while still being able to enjoy breathtaking views!

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas! Christian is super nice and easy to communicate with via and he met us at the house upon arrival to give us a tour of everything. Filtered water is provided. Lots of space for 3 adults and 2 young children. The setting is beautiful - in the middle of the jungle with lots of small wildlife to spot (sit in the front at about 5:15pm and you might spot the monkeys making their nightly journey to other other side of the forest). The cenote is a huge perk, we loved swimming in it. The pool was clean and wonderful, as was all the backyard amenities including a thatched roof outdoor kitchen and huge dining table. The house was very clean and it was also cleaned daily while we were there. The location is very close to Akumal village and the beach, all just a short drive away. We rented a car. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible experience at this Airbnb. The space was clean, well-designed, and exactly as described in the listing. It offered the perfect balance of comfort and style, with thoughtful touches that made our stay feel special. The location was ideal, peaceful yet close to great restaurants, shops, and the beach. Communication with the host was easy and responsive, and check-in was smooth from start to finish. We especially appreciated the comfortable beds, air conditioning, and the little extras like filtered water and local recommendations. It felt like a true home away from home. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the best of Tulum.

Casa Wabi was a very pleasant refuge that fully met my expectations. It's located about halfway between town and the beach which makes morning and evening pursuits (swimming, shopping, dining) easy; a couple of fine restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. The house itself is beautiful (all the photos are truthful), very well designed and comfortable inside, sparingly furnished, there is a large swimming pool, the caretakers provide excellent garden and pool service and household upkeep. Rapha especially went out of her way to help us with a couple of issues we had with our car rental. You need a car, preferably an SUV, because many streets/roads in the Tulum area are in bad shape (there is major construction work around Tulum and the area will soon look like Cancun).

We absolutely fell in love with this space, and Akumal. The jungle setting and view was stunning. We enjoyed walking across the street to the beach, playing in the waves and searching the tide pools for treasures and creatures. The kids loved the pool time, (all the pools). Casey thought of absolutely everything one would need to make a relaxing fun vacation with a well stocked and fully equipped condo. From beach chairs, and water socks, to snorkel gear. My personal favorite was the coffee bar and well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed making meals and grilling out in the common area while the kids enjoyed more pool time. Lastly, beds and linens. Absolute heaven. I’m going to be thinking about that bed for a long time. Thank you Casey for helping make our family vacation memorable and all your fantastic suggestions.

Loved my experience in this very special villa. The copper tub is a great touch and it's absolutely priceless to have your own private pool. Great communication with the host. I will be back!

Nancy was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and generous with her spectacular home. Our casita had all the little and big extras to make us completely comfortable. We were combining relaxing and working remotely and had excellent wifi speeds and the ability to take a break and swim some laps in her 25 meter pool! Nancy is so generous with her space— it almost felt like we had the whole gorgeous property to ourselves!! And she introduced us to a local Mayan liqueur that we now love — thank you for everything, Nancy!!!!

The house was fantastic. It really is a wonderful retreat away from the hectic nature of Tulum the city, or the Tulum hotel zone. Both were super close but we loved the ability to retreat to a private hideaway after our excursions. Having a pool was a spectacular bonus. The beach is rocky and at other locations the beach tends to have a seaweed challenge. The option to longer and swim at the house was really great. Also really enjoyed that it was very windy while we visited. The constant air through the house was both lovely cool when it was over 80F, but also kept away any bugs. While I can see how mosquitoes could be a challenge, we had none because of the winds. Highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

Everything was as described. Clean and A/C worked well. Would stay again.

Lizette’s place is wonderful - and she was so responsive and helpful There are random condiments left in kitchen which we didn’t use but great to see as so many Airbnbs offer very poorly stocked kitchenettes The best about place is the common area, the pool and surrounds are very relaxing, WiFi works well and the people who live at Sukha are super friendly We really enjoyed our stay, wish more places had this vibe

We loved everything about our stay at the bungalow on the beach at Bahia Soliman. The house was beautiful in a unique, casual, and authentic regional Mayan palapa style, fitting the location perfectly. That contributed to an overall ambience of tropical tranquility. The beach is lovely, and right out your door. The water is a vibrant turquoise and warm, views stunning. Our family of 6, including 2 toddlers, all came away feeling like we had the most relaxing vacation in a long time. Much of that relaxed feeling was due to our fabulous onsite staff. Our chef, Fabian, prepared us delicious food; everything from classic Mexican fare to regional Mayan specialties, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He accommodated our dietary restrictions and toddler requests with ease. He even packed us a fabulous lunch to go for flights home at the end of our stay. Carlos and Ismael kept the house clean and tidy at all times. They helped with concierge service and every request with pleasure

Originally I was dropped off to the wrong location, so I was even more relieved when I finally got to the condo. It was exactly as the pictures shown. But better. Edgar (co-host) was absolutely phenomenal from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. The place was very clean. Upon arrival it’s hard to tell what the neighborhood offers but there are boutique restaurants close by and the city and beach are about 10-15 commute via car or atv/vespa. Incredible quick responses from host staff. There was minimal construction near by but it didn’t bother me. All in all 10/10 experience for me. I would stay here again.

With this beautiful apartment, you certainly won't go wrong. Everything was perfect. This beautiful studio is spacious, and the high ceiling gives it even more space. In the kitchen, there is everything one would need for cooking- cutlery, pans, glasses, plates. If you feel like cooking for a few days or the whole stay, it's perfect. There are two TV's with Netflix and other channels. The design is very modern, and everything looks so much better in real life. The pool is amazing, and we found that most of the time when we were there, we were the only people. Some of the best smoothies can also be ordered there. The view through the bedroom's window made us feel like we were living amongst trees. The area is very safe and quiet. The host is super friendly and kind; he helped us with beach club access and always responded to us. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Next time we're in Tulum, we won't bother looking for any other place but this. Thank You!

The location is very quiet, peaceful and safe. The room we were given is beautiful and comfortable. My son and I enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with a delicious agua de papaya. We also tried a meal prepared by the host and it was delicious!
