Holiday rentals with lake access in Africa

Another magical weekend at the Cowshed. We loved every minute in this beautiful place, which had been updated since we stayed there a few years ago. We appreciated all the new improvements in an already lovely space. The Cowshed comfortably accommodates 6 people, so it was great for our family of four. We spent hours on the porch at all times of day, and enjoyed the nightly fire built for us. One of our favorite spots in Kenya!

This beautiful, historic home was everything we hoped it would be and more. Millie was very friendly and helpful. We all wished we could have stayed longer.

The perfect place for all those seeking peace and relaxation. The small village is simply magical, the view of the sea is a dream and the apartment is traditionally but stylishly furnished. In addition, compared to other AirBNBs, everything was thought of, there are, for example, kitchen roll, dishwasher tabs and finally two dish towels.

Xairu is absolutely stunning. The home is immaculate, and the view and scenery is amazing. Lots of wonderful birdlife too. Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away. Thank you!

An absolute treasure surrounded by pristine nature on your doorstep. The home is tastefully furnished, extremely comfortable with an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, a ceiling to floor bookcase filled with wonder and excitement and the wraparound porch allows sun worshippers or shade seekers opportunity to spend every moment outside. The beds are super comfy, and each room showcases the astounding view. Unwind, relax and soak up the serenity.... the only challenge is that you'll not want to leave.

We cannot fault anything! Honestly our very best stay - Adet was incredibly accommodating as we had a child from the UK with us travelling at a different time, we had small children with us- she just helped us all the time. Definitely our best air bnb

Amazing accommodation. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a breakaway. Location is in the mountains, but still very accessible to Robertson town and surrounds. Hosts went above and beyond. Especially since we had a bit of a baboon incident, which they handled very well. Cleaned up, offered to replace our food, and even brought us a bottle of rosé.

The studio is beautifully decorated and it is very comfortable. The air conditioning is a real plus and our nights were very good. Our host was exceptional, helpful, caring and gave very good advice. I recommend 400%.

We had a wonderful four days staying at Frank's apartment in the beautiful Xlendi bay. Gozo is a stunning island to discover. The apartment was well equipped and well situated, only two minutes from the bay with all it's excellent restaurants. Excellent base for exploring the sland with some lovely scenic walks from the bay. We hope to return to Gozo soon. Thank you Frank

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely Airbnb! From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The electric blankets and wall heater were a huge bonus, keeping us nice and toasty during our stay. The room itself was a perfect blend of charm and coziness. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it to others. Thanks to the host for creating such a warm and welcoming space!

Great stay! The place was clean, well located and as described. The host was responsive, welcoming and very attentive. I recommend it without hesitating!

It is our second time staying here and we most definitely come back again. Centrally located with the most beautiful views over the lagoon. Surrounded by restaurants and shops but apartment is private and quiet at night. Kitchen is well equipped with all necessary to cook any meal. Extras like purified water and cookies. Open plan lounge and dining area. Netflix and You Tube available. Lovely bedroom with lots of cupboards. Bathroom with shower and bath. We can recommend this accommodation if you love nature and also like to be centrally located.

We absolutely adored Sherif's place, it felt so rustic and warm. The lighting was absolutely amazing and bright, it made the place feel warm and inviting. We really felt at home. The ambiance was lovely and we felt spoiled. The beds were so comfy with fresh clean linen. The shower had great water flow. The location itself was quiet and not overwhelming which is great in comparison in Egypt. We felt safe and were warmly invited by Sherifs friend. check in and check out were smooth. We loved the recommendations from Sherif also, was a lovely touch. Many lovely cafes within couple of min walking.

This apartment was beautiful! We loved our stay and already discussed coming back before we even checked out. The location was perfect, on the V&A but also had privacy whilst in the room. Mona was great with showing us around and being there at check out too. There’s a booklet with suggestions for restaurants/things to do in each area of Cape Town which was really helpful. Highly recommend!

This is an awesome little place located within a wine estate! We felt so cozy and the view from the balcony was just beautiful. We even spotted some springbok while enjoying the coffee and rusks left for us. Julie was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you and we will be back!

We had such a lovely weekend at Sarah's cottage — it really felt like a home away from home! The view was absolutely stunning, and the best part is that it’s just a short walk from some great restaurants. Sarah truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, sharing fantastic recommendations for local dining and fun activities. This charming place is only a short stroll from the lake, where you can enjoy Fisherman's Camp for a drink on the veranda or visit Camp Carnelleys for a delicious meal. Plus, Hellsgate National Park is just down the road, ready for exploration. Personally, I enjoyed spending my time relaxing on the veranda, immersing myself in a good book, and taking in the breathtaking views of the lake! I did see some comments on Airbnb about the access road to the cottage being a bit tricky, but honestly, it’s really not bad at all. The short stretch on a dirt track is manageable for any car, provided you drive at a slow pace.

Absolutely loved our stay which was unfortunately for 1 night only. The property was beautiful and cottage incredibly cozy for our group. Look forward to coming back again and staying longer!

What an absolute privilege this past month has been. The cottage has everything you could possibly need—and then some. The views are even more breathtaking in person than they appear in the photos, and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. It truly felt like home. Definitely one of our all-time favorite Airbnbs.

We wanted a weekend away with peace and quiet, got exactly that. It was private and we loved the dam and all the creatures and animals; the Springboks was the highlight. There are a lot of flies, but it is expected with the dam etc. Will visit again !!

Beautiful and peaceful cottage, perfect for getting out of the city! Loved the swimming dam too. Will definitely be back!
