We had an awesome experience in the house boat and the kids loved it. The weekend was just to short. Will definitely be back and for an even longer stay.

We loved our stay aboard the self-piloted Port Alfred houseboat on the Kowie River. The surroundings were beautiful & peaceful and it was an amazing experience. The hosts were excellent, especially Johan who was the instructor for the course to obtain the temporary skipper's certificate of competence.

We had a fantastic time on Galloping Waters--excellent service, good food, lovely environment. The staff was very responsive and helpful, and great with the kids (4 kids, ages 10,9, and 6(x2)). The on-deck pool provided for hours of small person entertainment.

what an awesome experience!! Julia is a great host, everything was explained well and easy to understand. what a bucket list experience and highly recommend visiting! super close to the waterfront with great restaurants and the mall is close by. secure parking for your car is also available so you don't have to worry. nothing beats waking up to the sunrise on a houseboat! wifi, hot water and all the amenities of a normal house just on the water, so awesome!

This place was an amazing stay. I couldn’t believe how the boat stood out in the harbor and it was so beautiful and romantic and peaceful. It was exactly what my wife and I needed wow thank you oh and it was actually better than the pictures. I couldn’t believe it.

We had a wonderful stay. Tamer was very responsive and helpful. The views are breathtaking and the houseboat is beautiful and spacious, even when sharing with guests in up to 3 other rooms. Caretaker Mahmoud is very welcoming and accommodating and the other staff was kind and made a beautiful breakfast in the morning. Great value for money and would recommend to anyone staying in Elephantine Island. The free boat pick up from the mainland at check-in is a great additional service.

For the view, the location, the calm, the calm, the upper terrace, I put 12/10, exceptional. For the accommodation, built DIY style "à la Senegalaise", bo, not great, for the price. But the view from the upper deck of the Saloum and its birds is really exceptional, it's worth the rate.

Extraordinary location, only cabins on the water we saw. Sense of only one in the world guaranteed! Impeccable welcome by Ben and Aziz always available and responsive. We felt at home with only one desire: to go back!

Perfect place, if you are looking for something special in Kairo, location ans style-wise. Well-quipped and tasteful, clean, interesting vibe on the Nile. Communication with the hosts is very proactive, they care and give good recommendations. It is a bit adventurous to get there, as the door is a bit hidden, however someone is there to help you in a minute. Car noise is omnipresent in Cairo, but ear plugs are provided. We really enjoyed our stay in our cosy boat cabin, thank you!

I have paid a lot more for very unmemorable hotel rooms near airports. This stay in a boathouse just a short walk from Gibraltar airport set a new benchmark. Gently rocked to sleep on comfortable pillows, with air-con above, an ice bucket of beers to the side and Netflix on a large screen beyond my feet.. a blissful. last night before an early flight home. I travelled alone & it was a perfect size for me and maybe one other. Brilliantly equipped compact space that didn't feel restrictive. Lovely welcome from Fernando! 100% booking again for my next early Gib departure.

We were so good that we stayed one more night. Aziz is great, the house is the place for idleness and the Senegalese slow life. Canoeing in the mangrove forests, carriage rides, remaking the world and enjoying this quiet and relaxing place are the main activities around this little piece of paradise. Our departure was difficult but we had to take off for other adventures! Aziz thank you, to you and Ben and Awa for everything, really!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Houseboat65. I was there with five other folks - a couple & their two kids (8 & 11) and another single person. We had the three apartments on the second floor — perfect. I got lucky and slept in a gorgeous three-room space surrounded by windows, which filled the room with light. We spent a lot of time on the Nile-facing porches, chatting and having cocktails. It felt like our own little slice of calm and peace in busy Cairo. Jerome and the amazing Marie (we love you, Marie!) were beyond responsive: anything we needed (and that wasn't much: these spaces are well-stocked) or any time we needed assistance with luggage, etc., they were there in a flash. Marie served as our driver and top-notch tour guide for two days and wow - we felt so comfortable and well-taken care of. She knows the city so well and didn't hesitate to take us to some very far-flung locations. We can't WAIT to tell our friends about our stay and hope we get to come back!

Beyond what we could have imagined... We met Azziz at the pier before taking the canoe, according to his good instructions (name of canoes and price indication). Then Azziz drove us to this unusual place, where we were already amazed by its location and environment. Amazing experience: superb floating cabin with varied experiences at the tide:) Ingrid (his extraordinary wife) then joined us to go further on the useful and related information about the stay; she is incredibly attentive. We shared beautiful moments together to the point of thinking we've known each other for a long time! We spent 3 nights and it was difficult for us to recover from this experience, both the quality of the relationships with Azziz and his family, the sweetness of life and the environment invite relaxation and wonder. Loved this place - really charming and full of character. Hosts were great too. A bit noisy during the night but then so is all of Cairo!
